Apple Launches MobileMe and Apple TV 2.1

So, I ran the software update this morning and downloaded iTunes 7.7. While trying to setup MobileMe on the site the instructions say to click on the MobileMe icon in the System Preferences but it's not there. I've tried to re-download the software update but it says my system is up to date.

Any ideas? :confused:

That happened to me... try opening your system prefs and re-syncin .mac.

Actually the Credit Card I used expires in August well before the end of the trial period.
 
Well at least there not still showing the 'back soon' screen. Still looks like it's not ready.

It is nice that there being so helpful by offering to email me when mobile me is available..... oh hang on so you want to send me an email, to my @.mac account which I can't check at work until the mobile me service is fully available, to inform me that the mobile me service is fully available ????:confused:???

But i'll know because I'll be able to access it ... doh :D!
 
Will be nice when it is up and ready, but having that little preview was kind of nice.


Oh wait.. I know why it crashed... Maybe they are running MobileMe on Vista!!

Apple TV v2.1

Downloaded and installed successfully. Version number (under "About") now showing 2.1 and under "Remotes" it informs me that I can pair my iPhone as a remote (after downloading the "Remote" app and getting firmware 2.0 obv.).
 
Auckland launch

Just walked past the vodafone store on queen st(one of the 3 which will sell its first iphone in NZ in 30 mins). maybe its the high pricing but not a lot of people lined up to buy one. i counted about 25 people. but then again i've seen heaps of jailbroken iphones so.....
just my 2 cents

Do you know if that is multiple remotes?

my dad and i will both have an iPhone and only 1 :apple:tv

Jeez...glad i didn't stay up last night waiting for this thing. Just waking up and expected that everything would be up and running only to be disappointed. Let's hope this is the only fly in the soup this week. My iPhone activation better go smoothly tomorrow morning:mad:

Works for me. I still don't know how to sign up for a free trial. When I click the link it directs me to mobile me but where do I go from there? Or is the fre sign ups not online yet?

The login page is still up there... but the whole mobileme back end is down... so its not really working for you.
 
So what about apple TV

Hi Anyone know what is new in Apple TV, I am at work so can't do update.

Not sure mate. It doesn't appear to say that there is a limit on the number of remotes as you can still use your apple remote as well as the iphone/touch. Graphic shows a remote and an iphone standing together.
