Apl is relying way too much on Iphone (many other products and services tied to it ) and failed to launch a significant other growing revenues product, not tied to it since it.
That is a big problem, Iphone is over a decade old this year. They have hordes of cash , use it for buybacks... their R&D is in new chips for Iphone. You can think they are "far from failure" but I would caution you, world is changing and changing fast. I'm not sure Apl can keep pace. Their debts have increased dramatically too. Not all is rosey with Apl.
I wonder what the profit margins are for an iPad versus a Macbook Pro.
Oh is that so?
Where is change coming from?
Google is 90% advertising money, nothing they launch reaches success.
Microsoft is not growing anything, they are not even covering inflation.
Completely agree! Apple was at its best advertising wise between 2004, 2011. This is when they had the get a Mac, iPad, and the old iPhone commercials with the white backgrounds. Used to see those "if it's not an iPhone it's not an iPhone and "ads all the time on TV and those "I'm a Mac and a PC" ads all the time as wellI'm sure most here will hate these ads but all I can say is where have they been all this time? So much better than the your verse campaign. Short and sweet and perfect for TV which is where they better end up. I see Microsoft commercials on TV every day. I hardly ever see Apple commercials on TV anymore.
I'm sorry, what competition does AMD present at this point to anything but the lowest segment? As for ARM, since that same lowest segment is where it is trying to compete right now, it's more of a threat to AMD than Intel as well. Let those two fight over the bargain bin like Android clones battling it out for the sub-200 dollar handset market. No love lost there whatsoever from Intel.

You have google, look it up.
Bad ads. The humor isn't very funny and the selling points are pretty weak.
Better Than A Computer:
About speed: It's faster than most laptops if you compare it to a laptop that's either cheap or old. Make a valid comparison (a new laptop in a similar price range) and the iPad Pro is not very powerful.
Never seen a laptop faster than an iPad Pro.
Even the most expensive.
Not incorrect, but admittedly it might have been unclear. When I said slower than X86, I was referring to the benchmarks and the comparisons that were being made there and the effect the OS has on performance (not saying that the OS was slow because that's native to ARM). In the rest of my post I also mentioned emulation and native ARM support as a problem because it is. There will be a difference in performance but I guess the significance will be down to the user and the processor it's being compared to.incorrect statement...
WoA "Windows on ARM" will be exactly the same speed as WoW (32/64) "Windows on Windows" every time you use a 32bit program with a 64bit processor emulation is used to run that program in the case of a 64bit chip you notice WoW64 is used to run 32bit. So Windows on ARM is basically WoA64 emulation to run 32bit.... you don't hear anyone even mention WoW64 speed issues at all...its because they are imperceptible to the end user.
Rest assured WoA will be bare metal performant and not be an issue at all, only limit currently is 32bit programs but that will change down the road.
In the future ALL programs will be virtualized. Its coming.
They demoed WoA on Snapdragon 820, and it was fast as can be with all four cores, the WoA production devices will use Snapdragon 835 which is quite a leap in performance. They ran on stage Windows 10 Enterprise (recoded completely for ARM) and x86 programs like Photoshop ..its a game changer and Chromebook killer.
Who would want.... A Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise device that can run x86 programs with 16 hours battery, thinner than a Surface Pro with LTE for < $300?.... I would, so would many others. Coming soon around the time Iphone launches most likely. I bet it makes calls too. Choices, choices. A pro computer?...absolutely based on ARM.
Both very healthy and ipad sells three times more...there is your answer

But I am excited to see what Microsoft and other companies do with this and I agree that it really will be a Chromebook killer. I just hope it pushes Apple to improve MacBooks in the same way rather than push the iPad as the competitor to those devices.
The iPad Pro has replaced a laptop for many people. It can also do things a laptop can't.
Yes the macOS they would use on ARM would probably not be the same OS in every aspect (although this could happen). I would like to see the ability to run iOS apps, especially games, however you then enter issues with the form factor meaning that would have to change in many ways. They didn't cave in on the stylus, because Steve Jobs was referring to it as the only display input, although they have with things like larger phones and smaller tablets so I'm interested in seeing what they will do in this space. So far they seem to just be ignoring it because it's too hard to deal with, and promoting the iPad as the best computer they offer. You do realise that means a combination OSX/IOS merger, no way the go through an OSX re-write when IOS exists as their predominate os, with a robust app store and all. Will be interesting to see is apl finally caves , like they did on the stylus. Or continue to hold onto OSX stubbornly.
I think they look at WoA success, then follow that path and unify the OS's across all devices like Microsoft did already. The real challenge will be to get IOS on par with Windows 10..or they could be in trouble.

I actually quite like these as short ads, they sort of feel inspired by the Mac vs PC ads a little? Also it's unusual to see Apple include product criticism in their own adverts (on the first one), I know they put a twist on it but still
Safari doesn't even let me look at the complete URL on my iPad Pro! I really like the iPad, but it's not much more than a great toy next to my rMBP.
Only the last one with "ghosts" is actually good. The rest are kind of dumb (the Word one is borderline racist). Still, I like Apple going back to having some humanity in their ads.
