That is one ugly case, and there is no way Apple did their homework The Mophie (or whatever it's called) is a much better solution than this.

The only thing I wish Mophie would do is give me a Product Red case. Not just a Red one, but one that supports the movement.

I would like this for my 6S Plus, with moderate to heavy Twitter usage the battery only lasts half a day.

Have to admit, this is bizarre. I usually like Apple designs many users don't (for instance, the new Apple Watch magnetic charging dock), but this is just hideous. Why not just make the whole case a uniform thickness on the back and add even more battery?

Wow, pathetic. A similarly priced Mophie case has 2,750 mAh
While also being thicker. That Mophie case is going to take up more space in my pants pocket than this Apple battery case, just like how a larger battery pack will also be heavier and take up more space than a smaller one.

More isn't always better here.

In my informal polling - I haven't come across a single person that wouldn't mind better battery life and trade that for adding a little weight/thickness to the phone.

You haven't asked me then.

Someone always says "Steve never would have allowed this..." I always have rolled my eyes, but I think we can agree this might actually be that situation.

I am sure these people questioned Steve's every move just as much when he was alive. This forum is proof of that. They didn't understand Steve's intentions back then, and now they are claiming to suddenly know what he would have thought of after he is no longer around?

Am I the only one seeing the sheer irony of it all here?

So much outrage over this hideous case. Writing on the wall is clear.. Apple is caring way too much about introducing profitable products which this case certainly will be. I hate this, every time a company starts operating this way, it's the beginning of the downfall. They should have R&D'd this product and nixed it. You have to be profitable and making amazing products. Not one or the other.

No comments on that unsightly baby bump on the back of the case?

Did no one else notice it?

The bump on the back is exactly the same width the camera sticks out so the phone sits totally flat again, it's revolutionary.

Interesting design choice to have a bump out the back, I wonder if it feels better in your hand?

I'm surprised Apple have done this, I still feel battery cases are largely a niche, I certainly don't know anyone who owns one, and I have no use for one.

If it doesn't, you are holding it wrong ;o)

The 3.5mm headphone jack is NOT compatible with all headphones, including Apple's own Beats headphones. Looks like the rumors that Apple will be removing the 3.5mm Jack are getting some reinforcement. Much easier to design one of these without a jack. Also, much easier to move that Jack anywhere else on this case, moving it out of the iPhone, but integrating it into the case. No dongles, potentially better audio, protection for the phone (many die hard 3.5mm traditionalists use cases already), and extra battery life, for wired headphone users. Problem solved.

This will sell like hotcakes. Compared to other battery cases the total size of the device looks much smaller. And yes this is due to the odd looking design choice. Function over form.

And the smarts/lightning port put it well ahead of the competition.

So if you're going to make the phone thicker, why not apply the thickness to the ENTIRE phone and up the battery capacity even more?

Because then, you wouldn't have a flexible case that you can readily just slide the phone into?

Or has Apple suddenly invented flexible batteries while I was asleep and nobody told me?

Just a terrible idea when there are plenty of options already in the market place made with better materials at half the cost. And who wants a terrible looking battery hump? The newer mophie slim case retails for $60 but was on sale for $40 a few times in the last 2 weeks and looks better to boot.
And to tell the truth I've left my battery case at home because battery life has been acceptable. Not excellent but acceptable. And that case is rugged with 3 different colored bumpers and has a 3300 mah battery. Plus it looks nice and was only $50.
On a saper
