Okay. I lost my patience and bought ML for €15.99 (download running) although my rMBP would be eligibly for a free ML. My spare time for OS updates is restricted; I can’t wait hours and days for that stupid code. Maybe I’ll get a compensation later…

Kinda feeling the same way. On the one hand, it's 19.99 but on the other hand, it's ONLY 19.99

I was able to get a refund after I purchased ML for the same reason (error code) but I have to get the new code to redownload or update the OS, since they "removed" it from my Apple ID.

----------

I'm a developer running the GM version and I want to know if there are any changes in the release version. Knowing the build number and comparing with the build number of the GM version will tell me that.

I can confirm that the new ML has a build number of 12A269, the same as the GM.

I am getting an error message for my redemption code!
"the code you entered is not valid!" anyone else with this problem?

Yup. I am getting the same thing. When did you get your redemption code? I got mine two days ago when the site went live for like 15 minutes.

Don't forget folks, in the most part, this is NOT coming from Apple's servers (at least not overseas), it'll be coming from a CDN like Akamai.

Make sure you're not using Google DNS etc, and leave your DNS set to your ISP's - this will mean you're hitting your nearest download point.

I'm in Hong Kong. With Google DNS, I was hitting a server in Japan. With my ISP's DNS, I hit a server on the ISP's own network 3 hops away, and got ~ 250Mbps.

Compensated for what? You honestly think Apple owes you something for making for wait?

They want to know if it is the same build they already have installed (GM version). If so, they don't have to spend time downloading and installing the same OS.

Now I understand, thanks!

What i think has happened is that since a lot of people are having problems redeeming the codes (app store saying they are used) they have stopped giving out codes until they fix the problem. Which they are working on and hope to fix later today. one way or another we will get our codes soon :p

I had two MBP's I claimed. First one was bought at a local reseller yesterday. I have not received that claim code yet even though I entered that MBP first. The second MBP was purchased at the end of June from the refurb store. I received that code immediately, but it is not working.

Guess I'll wait until tonight or tomorrow morning to update anyway. Let this craziness die down!

Seriously, it's like some of these people are going to die if they can't get the latest Apple product the moment it comes out

Its one big scheme. Apple is purposely screwing around with the Up to Date program to get us impatient people to pay $20 anyway to buy it.

Im not serious by the way.

I know its frustrating seeing everyone else get it, because I'm in that boat too. I filled out the form this morning at 8:45, its now 11:30, but whatever, it won't kill me.

This thread is a really good read if you want a chuckle now and then! Full of people being more inpmoatient than a little kid waiting for a new toy!
It's an OS... Not a cure to world poverty.

Relax the world will be a better place! :p

App store credit

I have app store credit of £10 will the remaining 3.99 come of my card, or will all the cost come from my card?
