Yeah, time to ditch yearly names like the iPad did and just go to iPhone (20XX). iPhone Pro for the big one (and add frickin’ Pencil support!).If those naming are real, don't know what Apple execs has been smoking

But that's the whole point.I'm just seeing how Apple's present-day iPhone lineup ranges from $699 to $1149
That's quite a big range for a single year of iPhone models.
They surely can't expect everyone to buy the most expensive one... and I certainly wouldn't shame someone for not buying it either!

Xs Max sounds like an Android phone you’d get at Verizon. And Xr? What the heck does that even mean? What’s the point of the ‘r’?
Fox business just reported the Xs Max as a 6.8" screen starting at $1100 - WOW
Yep! Hopefully it will just be a smaller tropical storm by the time it hits here (middle of the state near Charlotte)

Referring to any company as "2nd tier" is never a commentary on their market share; it's generally assumed that it's a commentary on the quality of their work. It's like that old stereotype of comparing a Maserati GT to a Ford Pinto... nobody really needs to ask which one is the "1st tier" option. How is samsung a second tier company when it's no.1 in market share? Htc maybe I can understand
There are Samsung forums?

Was hoping they started at $999 but if true I think this means we are going to see yearly price increases - now that the market has matured only way to grow revenue. $1149 next year?Well, now we know that they really were thinking "Excess"![]()
Wow, just wow. It's only 30 min since this was posted and we already have 70+ comments, most of the telling how horrible all of this is...
When I read the comments here, and everywhere else on the Internet.. I get the feeling like people are purchasing and choosing their phone based on its name…
I fully agree that Apple’s naming scheme is out of whack. There is no denying it. But come on? Who really cares? The name isn’t even displayed anywhere on the phone itself… And most people don’t walk around and tell everyone about their specific phones name and model.. If you are ever going to tell anyone about your phone you will most likely just refer to it as an iPhone. And honestly, who would really care about what phone and model you currently have?
Still people seem to make this into a big deal? Since when did this matter? It doesn’t matter, not even a tiny bit. It won’t affect Apple’s sales, and it won’t affect how the phones work and performance. It doesn’t change anything. Why do people even care? How is it even possible to have this crazy amount of negative feedback about something so meaningless as this?
They're just names. Regardless of what's stuck at the end, you'll all still call it your iPhone at the end of the day so less of the moaning please.
Galaxy S and note series?
The all new Iweed... oh that name has been taken, eh .. apple weed. Coming soon in 20xx.If those naming are real, don't know what Apple execs has been smoking
I don't care about syllables, the name is lame.Syllable-wise, it's really not much different from say, a 6S+.
Assuming of course, you read "X" as "ten" and not "X".

Recently at the Macrumors community: "No way Apple is going to call it iPhone XR"
Not sure how they’d know but I never believed the rumor that the bigger X would start at $999. Cook says the X is the best selling model for every week it’s been on sale. Why would Apple reduce its price? And of course the bigger model is the perfect way of increasing prices.Fox business just reported the Xs Max as a 6.8" screen starting at $1100 - WOW
Those are some stupid names if real.
Suppose their trying to upsell to XR since thats the easiest one to say with spitting accidentally.
