OMG. This is from someone who has not preordered one, and that was sitting on the fence as in very sceptical.

It looks so cool. And Face ID works so well! Touch ID will not be missed.

So I have now effectively changed my plan, I will see how this new phone really is when I can road test one in a shop and then I might order one. I am still using an iPhone 6 ;-)

I wanted a Plus as my next phone, so I need to see the screen if it’s big enough. Another problem: next year there will be a much improved version 2 and possibly a Plus version.

Anyway...first world problems.

ok, isnt the stock up since the 27th?

It's not about stock price for me, the only time my shares increased was during the split. It's about a lack of leadership, a lack of commitment to Mac OS, a lack of commitment to quality software development, and other items. I don't care for Tim's Apple, and most likely never will. He is the one you should be talking about stock price to. As that is the only item that drives his agenda. Oh, and yes, the stock is up. :apple:

Apple is great at marketing but stop acting like marketing is the way they've become the most valuable company in the world. You can have the very best marketing in the world and that won't make you successful without also having truly great products.

Marketing might get someone to come into your stores, it might even sell a product. But it doesn't get people to keep that product, love that product, talk about that product with their friends, champion that product, and then buy your next product.

Stop this silly idea that Apple is successful only because of great marketing. It's a pretty stupid view of things.

Beats.

Bose.

Both great at marketing.

I rest my case.

(That was just too easy).

Um. So I noticed on all videos the top right corner only fits the battery, service bar, and wifi icons. What about the do-not-disturb, alarm clock, location service and orientation lock icons? How do you think they will be visible?
Right! And I think there are even other icons too that are rarely seen (like the TTY). Also, did you notice you cannot see the battery percentage value as there isn't enough room? I always turn on battery percentage.

Don't know about you, but I go to Fashion Magazine for all my in-depth technical info.

I’ll be here in 3.

Some context:

“We now believe pre-order demand could be closer to 50 million units of iPhone X vs. our original estimate of 40 million,” Ive writes, “which is more than double the current supply of iPhone X out of Asia currently available for shipments over the coming months. With the official launch of iPhone X in Apple retail stores slated for this Friday, November 3, we anticipate very high demand globally with limited supply of iPhone X on hand.” Daniel Ives, GBH Insights

and

"Apple asked partners to double manufacturing capacity."

Ugh that notch. Hard not to see it when looking at full screen videos or reading a document. I'll probably put my thumb there to hold the device, which will hopefully help me forget about it somewhat. Also hoping we can put battery percentage on the screen.

It's funny how all of these reviewers pointed out animojis as a great feature and what not...

So it looks like reviewers can get their hands on an actual iphone X to review just as long as they stick to Apples narrative which is don't give it a bad or negative review.

One of them did mention the X being behind the Pixel 2 in some metric (can't remember what it was). Surprising that got through...

I'm so upset they didn't invite Marques Brownlee to review one. He's the best tech journalist on YouTube (imo). I guess they just wanted sheeples.

Oh cool! Videos of YouTubers I've never heard of. Should have gone with Linus Tech Tips, or Jayz 2 Cents, Austin Evens, Marques Brownlee.. ya know, tech YouTubers that people have heard of. They would have given way more impressions.

Yup. I agree completely. Get ready to be attacked. :apple:

Could be. Could also just be that they want to drum up attention again since the launch got delayed. I could see either way tbh.

Edit: What is with all the comments with people flailing about how this or that Youtuber didn't get their hands on one?? It's widely rumoured the official reviews come out tomorrow, people need to cool their jets.

They already know all of us nerds will watch the usual tech reviews from the usual reviewers on YouTube once that embargo is lifted. What they’re doing here is obvious with Fashion and High Snobiety.

I don’t trust these videos, as we know if you give Apple negative reviews they black list you from any events, this smells to me like they are attempting to control what You Tubers say about their devices now.

Think I’ll wait for reviews by those not being ‘invited’ by Apple to its events and no doubt treated very well..

Total BS. When has that ever happened?
