Obviously this is a niche market., but I'd imagine medical, music and other creative Industries would jump on this.

Yes, I've got colleagues in the medical sector that are excited about a larger iPad. For their use cases, a tablet is better vs. a notebook, and a larger tablet would be even more advantageous.

Ipad pro will be a quadcore a9x soc with 4 gb memory.(basically a soc that contains 2x a9).

Ipad air 3 will be a tricore a9 (x?) with 2 or 3 gb memory.

Perhaps it will be something like this? The pro could be a beast.

Very nice all around. Any additional prediction on the cameras? Noticed there wasn't anything mentioned in your specs. I'm _assuming_ the Plus will be the only model with OIS, otherwise, the optics/feature sets will be the same.

Crazy that there is already going to be a 4th iteration of the iPad mini. My children's iPad Minis they got at launch are still running strong.

The MS Surface RT was ARM. Besides the new Core M CPU's are rumoured to appear in phones and tablets. Maybe the PRO runs on one of the new skylake CPU's :)

Maybe a Dual Core M3. ;)

Nah, makes too much sense for Enterprise Growth. You're not going to increase iPad sales with a 12.9" A9 Slab. :apple:

Still very disappointed there won't be a new and updated Ipad Air 3 till 2016!! :( :(

Does not make sense at all not updating the most populer size Ipad which is the 9.7 inch ipad.

I was going to buy the Ipad Air 3 but it looks like there won't be a new updated Ipad Air so it will be the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 then!

Ok...

Anything with an ARM processor and a freaking phone operating system is a toy at best. And some joes here actually think Apple would ditch Ferrari-speed Intel CPUs for those slow crap. Haha.

Rumors have pointed to a 12MP camera with 4K recording (in addition to 1080p) in the 6s and 6s Plus. Rumors and even photo evidence have also pointed to an upgraded FaceTime camera. Some of us have also speculated about a more flexible display technology such as OLED or mLED being a requirement for the successful implementation of Force Touch based on the availability of the only three devices currently available or recently announced that have Force Touch.

Pumped for the iPad Pro. I had a feeling they'd announce it at the event instead of waiting. They did the same thing with the new MacBook. People didn't think it'd be out till May or June and boom it was announced early.

Macrumors site has "had a feeling they'd announce it at..." the 4 previous events! Lol! Besides not being interested in an iPad the size of a medium pizza the iPad pro rummor and Apple TV Rummor's are getting old.

Elaborate on why ARM can't run pro things or why iOS isn't able to either.

$800.00 tablet no thank you
Uh... the 128GB iPad Air 2 is already 829$.

That's because some people (read AAPL investors who don't actually know anything about the company except for how much cash Apple has sitting around doing nothing) who would rather Apple ship half-baked products like Samsung does and try to "ship" more than actually "sell" since bigger numbers make the stock price move.

It's the same people at other companies like HP and Dell that seem to think that a 5 watt Intel CPU is what people want. No what people want is a computer that can run everything they currently have and some things they haven't yet tried because their existing hardware was such a dog. Attemting to suggest that Apple put their ARM chips into their laptops and desktops is like saying put 10 electric scooter motors is equal to a Tesla S engine. It "might" be true if you add up the horse power together, but that takes up much more space and is a lot less efficient from a parallelization point of view.

This is why Samsung's "octocore" CPU is a such a joke. It's literately the equivalent of gluing 8 weak cores together to try and beat 2 very strong cores.

Software is just not written in a parallelized way that the best way to describe damn near every software product in existence is "1+N" where at most every piece of software will use one core, but you only get more efficiency out of the software by running 8 copies of the software than trying to get one copy to use 8 cores. As anyone with a brain can see, you don't gain any productivity by running 8 copies of any client-sided application.

Up until a few minutes ago, I was a member over at the Savage Interactive forums. I was just banned (first a couple of deleted posts) for speculating that their developers would be on stage on Wednesday to show off the new iPad Pro hardware running Procreate, which is in most people's opinion the best painting software on iOS. Not sure why it was such a big deal. Did Apple maybe buy a little Australian app developer and are super sensitive about this little fact? Very strange.

I haven’t been following the camera stuff closely, so I don’t have any specific predictions on that.

With a wall mount, it's possible to hang the iPad Pro vertically and use it as a TV, for instance, in the kitchen.

Perhaps iPad Pros will get larger and larger, and in a couple of years there will be 40" versions that you also can use for video calls and gaming.

This is what you have in mind?

The only way i could see this working is if it meets 1 or 2 markets.

1: Has OSX and runs internals like the air. (we know it can be done)
2: Has so many points of pressure for people in the WACOM/ Artist market who prefer iOS.

Does anyone know if they have mentioned this yet?

Whether it has these things or not there is a definite market for it. It all falls on app developers to take advantage of it.

Unless iPad Pro runs Mac OS, it does not deserve the "Pro" moniker.

The macbook is exactly iPad with Mac OS and full keyboard .

iPad pro is pro in that it is intended for professional use.
I guess.

Many apps work better with bigger screen such as POS, drawing, etc.

There are many people who just hate Mac OS, but love iOS.

So far, the tablet and iPad has obviously not replaced the pc.
We still cannot do serious Excel, and database programming on iPad/ andriod tablet. But all because the app is not there yet.

and the app is not there yet, because the screen is too small/cpu is too slow for most people to do serious work on it.

In 5-10 years, you may imagine the line between the capability of iOS and Mac OS will be so thin that the kid in new generation will wonder what is the difference. Mac OS may be integrated into iOS conveniently.
