I am pretty sure the iPhone 4G has a screen resolution higher than the current iPhone's 320x480.

I tried to get text looking as sharp as the text from the Vietnamese YouTube video and on a 320x480 canvas I couldn't do it.

The rumors suggest that the next iPhone will have a 640x960 resolution.

You are using an antialiased font, whereas in this type of text in a prototype you'd use nothing that fancy. In the screen you can read "Iteration: 0" and the 0 is made of 4 pixels width (in the iPhone screen, not in the photograph, count the "blocks") . Rule of thumb and I don't think screen resolution differs very much from current iPhone.

You should not use the capture form YouTube as it lacks resolution and the blur of a scaled image gives the illusion of a more detailed image. You should use the screenshot below; you'll find what I say about the 0

There must be something held back for the unveiling, even if it is something added in response to the leaks. Surely the iPhone is produced in sufficient volumes to warrant different colours, as they have on various iPod models.

I think they would have to anodise the aluminium as I don't think black front, metal sides, coloured back would work too well.

Green back and sides would be my personal choice.

Screen

This is really getting kind of depressing. I guess we can totally give up on any hope that the new iPhone will have a larger screen. With the Super AMOLED screens out there in the 4" range Apple is really letting us down on this one - even if the resolution is as rumored.:(

^ you are likely the only person who wants a oled screen in the next iPhone...

I personally have a 3GS and a nexus one....the oled screen is NOT good in sunlight (and the one on my nexus has so much dust under the screen you wouldn't be able to read it in sunlight even if it were LCD).
I realize that the super amoled is better in sunlight, but because of the strange sub pixel layout on olds, they wouldn't be able to get the true high resolution of the LCD....
I am MUCH more excited to see a super high res LCD instead of a mediocre oled...

The only nice thing about oled is the black being truly black! The colors are otherwise completely unrealistic and the power consumption is actually much higher than LCD in most cases.. Also the brightness on the nexus oled is not as bright on it's highest setting than most LCD displays..

I'm betting on the 960x640 that we have heard rumors about....it's the best resolution for using current apps without modification and will be awesome for reading text in safari And other upgraded apps.
It is really the most exciting upgrade that i see coming to the new iPhone...
What part of the iPhone do you HAVE to use every time you use your phone? Ite not the camera....and the speed of the a4 is not always noticeable when doing rudimentary tasks on your iPhone..

What IS always used is the screen....so it will be the most important upgrade coming to the iPhone....in my eyes!

I think the current form factor is a good compromise. A bigger screen would be nice, but so would a smaller chassis.

I am starting to think these are all controlled releases. Just building more hype and getting us ready to show off new Apple products at the WWDC.

I was just thinking the same thing..I mean.. Another one now? WTF!

Other than that, I don't really like the design, as others have posted it's like an old Sony Ericsson but will wait and see.

Anyway, I am buying because I need a new iPhone..

The SEAMS

I don't mind the aesthetic of the seams at all - in fact, I think it looks incredible as a whole, and if anything, the seams actually add something to the look of the device.

....however, I'd suggest that they most certainly DO serve a purpose.

So far, we know that the 3GS gets kinda toasty... And that this one is sandwiched between two big pieces of glass. Glass has lousy thermal conductivity when compared to things like aluminum. Now, the BEZEL is made of aluminum, and I'm certain that helps, but I'd suggest that there is still a need for some additional cooling - hence the "seams" - or as I would suggest calling them, "vents."

When you look at all the evidence, higher-rez screen, more battery, faster CPU, and possibly a new radio chipset, it starts making sense.

Wow, you have 2 phones. You must get lots of callz.

I think it looks great but really doesn't everyone put these things in a case so the screen and functionality is all that really matter.

All good points, though I don't think the OLED on the Nexus One is Samsung's Super AMOLED, which is not only brighter, but also more power conservative. The Samsung Galaxy S has the 4" and is not even 1/4" wider than the 3GS. I agree that the 640x960 adapts itself best for existing apps. There are tradeoffs. Bigger just suits my "cheaters" better!! I guess we will soon see what SJ has to say in a couple of weeks!

It already IS in a protective casing...putting a case in a case to make it even bigger? No thanks.

The iPhone will start at $99

This photo shows that the iPhone will be released as a 16GB model. In fact, I believe, Apple will have three models: 16, 32, 64. Which would also lead Apple to develop the first model with a price point of $99.

Yep, you heard it first, the iPhone will be released for $99!

Why would you want to carry 4 inch screen sized phone, which means total length of over 5 inches in your pocket?
