Looks like someone from Apple has contacted vBulletin / the host of that website to take down the forums.

No. Site is just overrun. And in Vietnam. If Apple "took them down," why is macrumors.com still up with the same pics?

Surely the nice, big sleep button on the top of the phone is easier to 'feel out' than a tiny gap in the bodywork? That's how I handle it when the phone's in my pocket right now, works like a charm.

Anybody with nerve endings on the tips of their fingers can find the sleep button and then the headphone jack.

The screws are nowhere to be found, how does that thing hold together?

Quite disappointed if it's still 16/32GB, should be 32/64GB this time.

And finally, I'll repeat what everybody is saying....... the seams, remove them!

The design is ok, nothing earth shaking really. Bottom line for me is the network, if it remains locked to AT&T I won't bother upgrading and likely move to an Android phone. AT&T is simply to far behind the times in coverage and features to be a viable choice. No tethering, small 3G footprint and costs that don't compare. Even Sprint has better coverage, 4G Wimax emerging and some very nice android phones coming to market.

Apple needs to cut the rope from the dead weight that is AT&T.

I hope the silver printing/logo are behind the glass—that would look better and not scratch.

I don't care about the seams. I love the design. I love that it's flat on the back (now make an iPad with a flat back, please).

I want that.

in iPod touch form, of course. I wish it had an SOLED screen that would make games really pop.

The Seams -

They serve a PURPOSE, so apple can't remove them. 99.9% probablility you can squeeze the sides of the phone to activate functions/buttons (think the old mighty mouse). The seams allow for the structure to "give" when squeezing.

End of "The Seams" arguement people.....move on to something else now.

Now it's getting a bit ridiculous!
Enough of the publicity stunts, Apple Inc! The next time I want to hear from them is when Jobs admits that they got it wrong with treating their customers like idiots, so they support Flash, as everybody else who intends to use the web today.

Please name for me one cellphone that currently incorporates Flash in their OS. For the past three years, Apple has been continuously bashed with that omission, but why leave all the other cell phones off the hook for the same omission?

I can't believe people are bitching about this "smaller screen" have you guys seen the side by side with the 3GS? if it is smaller it's not even noticeable!

Yes, and it does look significantly smaller when you are thinking about scale.

It means I won't be able to see as much on the screen (and I really don't awnt to see less) or have to reduce font size smaller to fit stuff. Either is not really a compromise I'd be looking forward to.

It's not like the screen they give us is in the 3G/3Gs is something to brag about. Why make it smaller?

What if Apple is releasing pictures of the next ATT model iPhone to tick them off while they have a different iPhone waiting to go out with Verizon.

I know, wouldn't happen so flame on.

:p

My 2 guesses on the seams.

1. There will be a removable battery. The top seam and one side seam are the ends of the cover. I saw on some pictures a strap that could be used for pulling out the battery. The other side seam is for balanced aesthetics.

2. The frame is used as an extension of the antenna. The 2 side seams isolate the part that includes the dock connector to stop interference. The top seam separates different groups of antenna.

Folks, just to reiterate what was mentioned a few pages ago-

You can read the font serif's on the screen and if you catch one or two frames of the video, it appears very clear. You certainly couldn't do that on the current iPhone. I'd agree that this is probably double current resolution, in 640 x 960.

Also, Steve wouldn't gain anything by releasing a phone with equal resolution, especially given the direction he wants to take with gaming.

Just my thoughts.

I don't think I saw anyone post anything about this, but are there any differences between this device, and the one that Engadget showed off before the whole Gizmodogate thing happened?

No chance for that.

The screen never changes does it in the video... Why is it locked to that screen image if it be the real thing?
Perhaps someone bought the earlier protype that was in the wild...

P.S. I did go to a cafe in Vietname in Hue called Apple Cafe and the logo was the reversed Apple Corp. logo on the building... Anyway...

If you look at the video the screen does change, just not in a big way, @ 1:53 look right above the home button and you will see bars increasing. this is because it is running a test. People need to realize that this is it. we will not be surprised this year.

People just want to say its not real so they can feel inside that there will still be a surprise at WWDC10. sorry for the disappointment

I cant wait to own the awesome new iPhone HD/4G 64GB :D
