This is sooo lame.. forget predictions... I'm sick of this, Michael Dell hook me up with one of your Dells. Apple you are really begining to annoy me, great product, very ****** and distrustful marketing. I know that you guys at apple are spreading these rumors, it's free publicity, but this is plain stupid and annoying.. Stop! :(

Want a tissue?

wouldn't there be a press-event for a "new" product-launch? If so, were any announced for today.. not that I heard.

I buy the rumour of a iBook + iPod launch much more.

I feel the same, someone said the New York flagship store is opening later this month - good place for a new product release.

Releasing the MacBook at the new flagship of Apple in the Big Apple is more than logical. For such a major product Steve should be in the picture also during the presentation.
As far as I know this is 19th of May, correct?

:p well theres goes all the hype about this.... down the drain

current state: still awaiting for something great to happen

Wonderful, just wonderful. I've wanted to get a laptop for a year and a half, and I can't believe how long the last few days have been. I can't imagine waiting any longer and not going insane...

Actually, where is the real difference between a DualCore MacBookPro and a DualCore MacBook if no Mac user is playing games on MacOS X as Apple predicts?

Graficcard?
You don't need a X1600 for photoshop or iTunes or Office.

Size of Screen?
It's better having a small monitor as a professional. The laptop weights less and u use an external monitor anyway.

It won't be 6:15 AM in California for almost an hour yet. Calm down folks.

I must say, Sony is tempting me with their overpriced current Vaio. It is a nice machine. Save me from the evil empire Steve! Release the MacBook today!

Well this site is called MacRUMORS... if you dont like talking about rumors you shouldn't be here.

Less of the patronising.

I know exactly what this board is about. Im talking specifically about those two particular websites whose idea of rumour amounts to lets speculate every single week, and release a story when it looks like we are wrong to cover our backs while simultaneously repeating the process for the next week. Its boring.

Yeah, we don't even find out if the store's down until 2300 - MWSF doesn't start till about 0300.

At least the Paris Expo was at a decent time - 7pm.

Yeah but its kinda fun getting up in the wee hours for a mac fix.

I hread 19th of May too. That's only 10 more days. The big Apple Store should make some buzz in the "normal" media (TV). I expect some reporters there saying: "I'm here at the new Big Apple inside the Big Apple. Not only the stairs here look gorgeous, Steve Jobs also released a completely new Macbook with an Intel processor..."

That would be a nice way to have the media there without having to sen dout invitations thus spoiling the surprise effect. If Apple sent out an invitation now, everyone would know: hey, the new Macbooks. Finally.

As for the iPod update, I don't believe it will be a major upgrade. The Nano may be available in 8GB or something like that. Don't get your hopes up on the full screen iPod.

Yes, that sounds probable. I wonder what part of my brain doesnt want to wait 10 more days?

Well, lets begin the wait to the 19th then :)

if the new ibooks dont come out today, i'm just going to get a pb. i sold my old g3 ice book and bought a new 14'' ibook, but returned it because i heard the new ibooks were coming soon. i cant go much longer without a mac. i use ilife too much. or should i go cheap and buy a dell thing

How many thousand messages will we post by then? How many page views will MacRumours be passing on to their sponsors as billable events? There is a whole cottage industry based solely on the persistence of Apple rumours. Fantastic.

i never thought about how much macrumors is making from us visiting this site so much, unless the sponsors go by how many ip adresses. they would see my ip bout 30x a day.

By my count, there are about 17 distinct users here, each accessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 4,000 page views per day.

I guess it's the desire center.

It just came to my mind theat the construction stie of the new Apple store is black. Is this a hint that future products (Macbook) will really be available in black? If they release a new iPod that already comes in black, the gag would be perfect. :p

I feel exactly the same way....... The days are getting very long, I am so close to buying something else. And the MBP is ruled out due to the size. One more week, then I will start scanning the Laptop PC market....... Please Apple do not force me to do that!!!!
