Very true, and hopefully not a let down. I wonder if they could double the GBs and keep the prices the same for the Nanos...

Wouldn't the stres have gone down by now if they were going to?

I would have thought so. :(
Why? It's only 5:45AM in Cupertino. It's been said over and over that the stores are never updated before 6, and sometimes not until 12 or so.

No, it's only 5:48am in California.

I think that everyone viewing pages on this thread between 6am and 7am PDT deserves an Avatar at MacRumors.

Ridiculous

C'mon guys, this is getting plain silly. Why don't the rumour-mills simply admit that they haven't got a clue. Yes, some speculation is bound to be correct. Black & White colour, slimmer form factor (not to mention Intel processors). Those are obvious possibilities. In the end, the rumour sites' guesses are as good (or bad) as anyone's. Only they claim, proclaim, name... what a shame

I remember in the past of the store being down by now

I read that the MacBook is going to have an optional ashtray, except for on models sold in California.

Looks like nothing today, almost without fail the UK store goes down before the US store, and that is normally around 12.00PM local time its now almost 14.00 and the store is still up.

This is said through benefit of innocence, but surely the store goes down when there are batches of updates coming, like when a keynote is going on, rather than when a product is (and I use the term loosely) being announced relatively anonymously?

Anyway!

The store goes down with the release of any Apple product - hardware or software.

Nothing today methinks guys - ah well, the cold winter is howling in so I may as well stay up anyway.

I'm all for an optional ashtray... as long as I can put my beer into it :)

Meanwhile, the most [url="https://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/05/20060504200832.shtml"]recent updates
to the MacBook rumor claims it will come in Black and White configurations, a slightly higher price point and a thinner form factor than current iBooks.

Thought up til now that they would only come in the well-known iBook white (like what I'm looking at right now)...
I'm sitting here waiting, brandishing the credit card, to get my hands on a BLACK one ASAP....

Okay... let's have them then, roll them out, guys!

Apple's site is not yet updated for the day. Take a look at the "One Red Hot Offer" ad on the right. It reads: "... Hurry! Offer ends Monday, May 8."
Not that anything should be expected, but you're all jumping to conclusions. 6:05 Cali time.

Normally the Apple Store goes down at 8am ET/7am CT/6am MT/5amPT for most updates and refreshes. I think the only exception to this is an announcement out in California later in the day, but otherwise this is the way the online Apple Store normally works on days Apple products get updated.
