Most of thier parts? You need to stop making things up.

The only Samsung component in my iPhone 6s Plus Is the dram chip. That's it.
Smh
Like I said below I don't know what the breakup is anymore but I'm not sure I'd take your word on anything you seem to make up a lot of stuff.

I don't know what the breakdown is any more, but they certainly made most of the important parts not that long ago.
So what? As long as they make powerful dual-cores for Apple and pathetic octa-cores for themselves, all their manufacturing expertise is wasted in meaningless spec races. Apple's Metal API is optimized for stunning mobile graphics on their own ARM CPUs. Apple always builds the whole package not just the hardware.

No you obviously don't. So stop making things up.

You said " it's basically a Samsung phone"
Don't lie about it now.

Is that why Apple buys most of their parts from Samsung so it can make a decent phone. If you guys hate Samsung so much why do you buy Apple, it's basically a Samsung phone, I know, they're trying to break away, but they keep going back.
If you hate Samsung buy LG or Sony.

Your the only one here making things up, sport

I made a mockup of the iPhone 7S

Nice!

Lol... Some people will defend Apple and their saintly business ethics to the death. You'll never convince them. Watch for it... The revolutionary curved screen will also be Apple's innovation even if other phones had it first. Just like NFC payments... Rebadge it as Apple Pay and the flock shall agree it's Apple's invention.

Keep it classy

===

I've go no idea how this thread turned in pages of 16GB phones but I will say there are a lot of us that can get away on 16GB. Would it be nice to have 32GB? Sure, but it's not really a deciding factor nor is the SD card slot.

Yes I know, those meaningless spec races because Apple is so far behind, but if they were in front those spec races wouldn't be meaningless would they

lol, the iPhone is far from being a Samsung phone... Actually on mine there are ZERO Samsun's components.
Even when you take Samsung A9 into consideration, Samsung Semiconductors and Samsung mobile aren't the same thing.
I like Samsung Semi as an high tech company. I still believe Samsung Mobile isn't able to make a good smartphone (especially software wise).

Samsung, which builds consumer electronics as well as processors, will provide 75 percent of the chips that Apple will need in its next iPhone, South Korea-based Maeil Business Newspaper reported Monday, citing people who claim to have knowledge of the companies' plans. Samsung will produce the chips, believed to be dubbed A9, at its factory in Austin, Texas, the report says."

I can find a lot more if you like, but it becomes embarrasing.

I know a phone is more than just the parts, so why does Apple build them in cheap Chinese sweatshops, you'd think they would lovingly craft them in Germany or even America, they're always saying they're not in it for the money, but somehow that doesn't add up does it.
China is the world's assembler of already made parts currently (though as they advance technologically we are seeing that shift, as every developing country does).

No one in Apple says that the company doesn't exist for the money, their approach in generating that money is to design the most integrated HW/SW combination they can. Don't confuse PR with reality.

No, I'm pretty sure their top echelon have let it be known on several occasions they're not in it for the money, yet they sell cables for $40, 16gb of ram for $100, you know the rest.
Look I'm quite happy for companies to make money but please be honest about it, don't tell us you're doing it for us.
[doublepost=1459170906][/doublepost]Anyway look guys I'm just as big a mug as the rest of you I actually bought an iPad Pro when it first came out, silly me, I think that word Pro hooked me in.

Apple far behind ? Seriously, do you understand something about semiconductors or are you just a Samsung supporter here to provoke a flame ?

Cheap Chinese sweatshops ? Foxconn ???
Ok, I have my answer: you don't understand much about this stuff... No problem.

I'm no Samsung supporter, I'm not an anything supporter, I'm a tech supporter if anything. I have quite a bit of Apple stuff but that doesn't mean I love the big overly greedy company. I'm not loyal to anyone except my bank book. I buy whatever product suits me at the time of purchase, I don't buy what everyone else buys.

Oh, I don't care about anyone else too.
Actually I'd like Apple to be the same as it was in early '90, regarding market share: this forum would have been much enjoyable.....

You're not a Samsung supporter.... ok.
I am an Apple supporter.

So tell me what's wrong with Android especially seeing as how it's more capable than IOS. Have you ever owned a Samsung phone, have you ever used Android?
I've just bought my first Samsung phone, so far so good, it certainly looks a lot better than the 6s Plus and beats in just about every department.

Well see, you're one of the reasons Apple is not the same as it was in the 90s, it really thinks it can just do whatever it wants and people like you will just keep buying their stuff, you know, things like 16gb storage, 1gb ram.

There is NOTHING in Android superior to iOS...

Vanilla Android is acceptable, at best. TouchWiz ..... wow, pure garbage. And being tied to Google ecosystem is just insane for me.

I am just assuming that you're aware Samsung does not design these chips, and has proved unable to design something as efficient and powerful as these chips.

And you probably was just a kid when I was an apple customer then...

BTW you can enjoy your Samsung device and move on.
Apple won't force you to buy their stuff.

A revised design is great. A top step forward if it can simply the offering to customers.

Yeah, sure, buy more. Problem is, the work phone that was handed to me was the base 16GB model. Like other company phones, only the base model will be given out to employees. I offered Verizon to pay for the difference to get the 64GB, but I was told it was corporate policy that it was not possible.
Now with all those required app from the company, I am left with less than 5 GB of capacity to use for e-mails, pictures and videos FOR THE JOB.

With all due respect your problem is with your employer, not Apple.

Do you think they called Samsung to see what stock components were available? The "mockup renderings" in this thread look EXACTLY like the GS7 Edge hahahah.... and Apple innovates. Samsung has been using OLEDs since 2011 and is a pioneer in the field; also, the curved screen is their own innovation as you all know. What happened to Apple since Jobs left?

Except single-core performance. (Not that it is important.)

There is no current iOS device with 1GB RAM. iPad mini 4, Air 2, Pro, iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, SE. All of them have 2GB now. And all but the SE are available in 128GB, the iPad Pro even in 256GB.

Oh, I know why the new 5.8 inch iPhone, with its copy and paste design, is better than the GS7-- they didn't copy the giant hole called 3.5mm! What an innovation by Apple! I've had so many issues with that stupid 3.5mm port... it sucks that my phone is also IP68 water resistant with the port and no USB covers... Samsung can't engineer anything right! ;)

You really make absolutely no sense. People buy what they want. Who are you to tell them otherwise?

Calm down, friend. Have a cup of tea, relax. Represent the facts and be accurate. Slowly and carefully reread my comments that you have religiously followed with great interest.

All I am saying is that Apple is setting up customers for failure who buy a 16gb. Apple is being dishonest and deceptive in its marketing. Even a typical light user will fill up the phone incredibly fast rendering it useless. The iPhone 16gb product is not fit for its intended purpose and should be replaced with one with a much higher capacity at the same 16gb price point.

Choosing storage size might have been useful when the costs of storage were of some significance back ten years ago, but making customers choose a storage limit these days is just like getting customers to choose between CPU speeds. It's nonsense ********. All customers want to know is can they take a photo without getting a “storage full” error blasted into their face. Counting gigabytes is a relic of ancient PC days. Is Apple suggesting it’s ancient history?

The difference in cost between 16gb and 128gb is negligible to Apple and it simply can not justify the premium price it charges. It’s dishonest behaviour. The entry 16gb is designed to deceive, or give the impression to customers, that they have a phone within their price range, only to realise the total package means customers will exhaust the storage limit in very little time and be forced to look at a more expensive model. It's certainly not honourable for Apple to treat its customers like this.

Apple should supply only a single top storage level for each iPhone model at the lowest price making storage specs non existent.

For example with the current line up:

iPhone SE - should be $399 (includes 64GB, not $499 )
iPhone 6s - should be $649 (includes 128GB, not $849)
iPhone 6s Plus - should be $749 (includes 128GB, not $949)

This would be an Apple that thinks different, not same same.

Pour that cup of tea, friend and come into March 2016.
