Don't you realize how absolutely inane that statement is? You could use the same logic to justify an 8GB iPhone. After all, if you need more you can just pay $100 to double, another $100 to go further, etc. right?

A phone with a 4K camera simply should *NOT* have 16GB of storage. That's just pathetic. you can shoot barely 20 minutes before you have COMPLETELY filled up your storage. Wow. Especially when it would have literally cost pennies for Apple to have put 32GB instead. No joke, not even a dollar. NAND flash has gotten so cheap but Apple seems stuck in 2011. It's sad and pathetic.

But worst of all, a $750 phone with 16GB...???? Come on now. There are Android phones less than HALF that price with 32GB. What a joke.

I used to be an iPhone guy even since the first back in 2007. But these days the iPhone is an awful joke, a punch line.

I hope that this year, when Apple does move to 32GB (it really just had to at this point), I hope their profit margins take a HUGE dive because they truly deserve it.

The "only" problem is that magic phone is a piece of garbage. And the brand is even worse. Makes sense it's cheaper.

So their edge is pointless...so the apple edge will also be pointless? Or will it be fabulous because it has an apple logo on the back ?
And 16gb in a phone costing more than most televisions is an insult to the consumer.
If any, let us see their implementation before judge it...
[doublepost=1459074563][/doublepost]
Don't worry, they will bump up the GB to 32 GB hopefully, then charge you $200 more then $150 more after that for storage upgrades...I mean I don't know where we saw that
iPad Pro
.
I'm thinking about 32/128/256 storage options for the iPhone 7.
It would be great.

Also have the prettiest cameras (again, this is from a valid source, DxOMark + multiple comparisons and review sites) and better functionality (SD Micro slot, water resistance, customization, etc..). Not sure about their older phones, but my 1 year old S6 is running flawlessly here. Problem with Apple fans is that they think their phones are superior, when they have never even considered trying other phones.
I’d agree with that. Only reason I even got into Windows was because I was forced to use it at work and you know what, as much as I might prefer OSX overall. Windows is better in a number of ways, (and worse).

Ok you saw it... But did you actually use it ? The edge screen is pointless. It's just aesthetic.
iPhone 6 and 6S are identical, but her we are judging iPhone 7 months before its release date!
6 and 6S are identical because historically Apple have done that.
But 6S definitely is better than 6 in any way.

I just feel that all Apple have done is release the same products year on year for the past 5 or so years, or since Jobs passed away. I'm not saying the two are connected, but there was a picture making the rounds a week or so back which showed Apple's product line up over the past couple years highlighting how similar the all were. What I'm saying is Apple need to bring something new to the table with iPhone 7. Although it's Apple we're talking about and they're bosses at sustaining growth, I think people will begin to switch off if we don't see something new soon.

Not sure I’d go that far. The iPhone works well and is nice. Sure it could be better but I think the term garbage is a little OTT.

Yeah, sure, buy more. Problem is, the work phone that was handed to me was the base 16GB model. Like other company phones, only the base model will be given out to employees. I offered Verizon to pay for the difference to get the 64GB, but I was told it was corporate policy that it was not possible.
Now with all those required app from the company, I am left with less than 5 GB of capacity to use for e-mails, pictures and videos FOR THE JOB.
My mom also received an iPhone 6 Plus from company. Base 16GB model. iOS 8.4. Luckily there is no app for them to install for work, so she can use much of the space to store her photos and app data.

Not at all. Looking at your post history you’d do anything to avoid admitting something negative about Apple. When talking about iPhones I’m of the opinion that the GS7 is the obvious competitor. If you can’t, (won’t), see that I don’t know what to tell you.
I’m a poor iPhone owner too, (3G, 3GS, 4, 5S), never owned a Windows, Android or any other since so don’t play that card.
You don't know my post history so well then... I criticized Apple on several occasion (the last being their price policy), even quite vocally.
But I'm a real Apple user, not a troll like many others here, so all in all I'm a satisfied customer, since 1989...

And you are twisting reality here: the thread is about a future iPhone for 2017. Surely it won't be in competition with Galaxy S7.
He brought in the S7 just as a flame bait, as usual.

I'm all for this new rumored redesign. My only wish is that if it's really going to be all glass front and back...that Apple finally uses shatterproof Saphhire glass! Other than that, I'll reserve judgement on a rumor until I actually see the damn thing. No matter what tho...I will definitely be getting the iPhone 7 pro this year if it has the dual camera lens that was rumored. Even if the body stays the same, I won't wait for this new all glass iphone. As a travel photog who uses his iPhone for photography, a new better camera design is more important to me than a new body design.

1. A super AMOLED display has proven to last approximately 5 years without wearing off, this is longer than most would own a phone. ("After 1,000 hours the blue luminance degraded by 12%, the red by 7% and the green by 8%." In particular, blue OLEDs historically have had a lifetime of around 14,000 hours to half original brightness (five years at 8 hours a day)".

2. The type of subpixels arrangement in a phone with 2k is irrelevant. The screen already has huge number of pixels for EXTRA sharpness, especially compared to a smartphone with a potato 760p display (not referring to the iPhone, of course). This has already been proven many times. The Galaxy S6 and S7 have sharper displays than any iPhone and the have the best displays on the market aswell.

3. AMOLED displays might not display pure whites but the same can be said about Retina not displaying pure blacks. Whites look better on a retina and blacks look better on a SAMOLED. This has already been discussed countless times.

What really matters the most is the accuracy of the colors overall and the efficiency, this is where SAMOLED shines. DisplayMate already announced the winners and the Galaxy S7 and S6 came in first.
DisplayMate isn't the Holy Bible of display analysis. Other websites pointed out flaws in S7 screen (admittedly a good display).
PenTile matrix is irrelevant TO YOU because everyone half competent could understand how that sub pixels arrangement is poorly designed.
OLED sub pixels start degrading in a different way the first day you use it, so color precision will degrade day after day. I don't care about 7 years lifespan. I care about colors degrading after a few months.
It's not only about pure whites. OLED are extremely poor, energy wise, in displaying whites.

LOL, we have a rumor about the iP7, we’ll compare it against a non existent rumour about a non existent S8 shall we? Top iPhone against top Samsung, you can’ t see that?
Point me to one of several of your so called criticisms too will you please?

It's actually pretty pointless without a case.
The edge keeps registering unintended touches
It will be fabulous ( your words not mine) when and IF Apple implements their version. Apple usually sweats the small stuff so its customers doesn't have to. What's the point in bleeding edge technology if you can't use it.

The hate towards the iPhone is so much that some people complete distorted the reality here...
The nexus 6 was one of the worst device ever designed, an commercially a complete failure
Tell me about. It killed Motorola but some posters can see through thier own bias.

Let's put an end to this, who gives a flying **** if Samsung is the prettiest phone with the best color display? I really don't care when I have to reset my phone for the thousandth time or I am pissed cus it is slower than its competitors.

Exactly.

It is and the phone looks ridiculous like that, tall and narrow with that stupid edge. Waste of screen.

There is actually some merit to this post. As for bleeding edge. I’ll have it also as an option please. If it doesn’t work I can decide not to use it.

Your right the technology does degrade quickly and the whites are the first to suffer.

And white is almost always more important than black. In everyday usage you encounter way more white than black. I'd rather have good great white and ok black.

I don't want it as an option. If Implementation Is not perfect I'm not going to use it. why should I pay for it?

What stops you from buying those Android phones and leave us here alone? There is no meaningful difference between Android and iOS, right? Right!?
I used to be an iPhone guy even since the first back in 2007. But these days the iPhone is an awful joke, a punch line.
The joke is on you, guy who bought an iPhone without an App Store and no Copy and Paste. The iPhone of 2016 is a very capable computer even with 16GB. The small storage is a minor annoyance for people who simply don't have the $100 more.
I hope that this year, when Apple does move to 32GB (it really just had to at this point), I hope their profit margins take a HUGE dive because they truly deserve it.
But don't be surprised if Apple doesn't increase base storage like they didn't when they moved from 32 to 64 and 64 to 128 GB. It has absolutely nothing to do with how much it costs to build those chips in a given year. Storage sizes only exist to create different price points for customers with deeper pockets. The smallest model must be seen as too small for most people or otherwise the upselling wouldn't work.

You might not care but a lot of us here do.
I own several Tvs with different technologies.

My oled tv are the worst in color reproduction. I have a Samsung and an lg, both are curved. Absolutely the worst.

Apple should stick with metal cases. Not for me though as that size is waaay too big for me. OLED would be good though.

I bet Apple were surprised at the Plus models sales, after their arrogance for so long to ignore the booming big screen Android market that Samsung pretty much made. Now most on here have a Plus iPhone.
I hope they don't copy Samsung's Edge display idea though, they should think of something new themselves.

Panasonic this year has completely ditched curved screens. OLED are supposed to be the best screens though for 4K? I don't have one though.
