It might have been like when people watch a train wreck? I stared at it like, "I just cannot believe that Apple thought this was a good idea".

Of course, I cannot stand Samsung ads at all, so good for Apple for not becoming nasty like them. At least they have taken the high road. And no, those Samsung ads are nothing like the "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads. My favorite character in those was PC. He was so lovable, yet pitiable.

Come on be honest. The Wall huggers was clever and funny.

Apple's ADs HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE since Jobs passed away.

They are so stupid. Older ads were much simpler and got to the freaking point right away. The new ads are so goofy.

The iPad ads were terrible before Jobs died. Apple and TBWA have had major problems since the iPad launched. Jobs even talked about it in his biography.

“Jobs was not happy with the original ads for the iPad. As usual, he threw himself into the marketing, working with James Vincent and Duncan Milner at the ad agency (now called TBWA/Media Arts Lab), with Lee Clow advising from a semiretired perch. The commercial they first produced was a gentle scene of a guy in faded jeans and sweatshirt reclining in a chair, looking at email, a photo album, the New York Times, books, and video on an iPad propped on his lap. There were no words, just the background beat of “There Goes My Love” by the Blue Van. “After he approved it, Steve decided he hated it,” Vincent recalled.”

You don't remember the first iPad ad, which Jobs approved?

LOL! How soon all of these snobby arm chair quarterbacks forget...TBWA ads for Apple have been terrible for awhile.

Except that is what sells product - Samsung style ads.

No AT&T and Verizon sales clerks sell Samsung devices. Have you been in at AT&T Store? My mom basically had to tell the clerk to leave her alone when she was getting her iPhone. She called me from the store and asked me if she should get the Samsung.

I wonder how different the responses would be about that ad if this had been posted 9 months ago.

Come on be honest. The Wall huggers was clever and funny.

The funny thing is that opinions are like certain body parts... Everyone has one. Some people liked the ad, other people did not. No ad is going to reach 100% of the market successfully.

Why do away with stuff people like? Why not make them better instead? Maybe people want to do away with Apple products because people who use them are a joke...paying too much for less hardware.

Why would Apple need to make them better? Beats are made for a pittance and are sold by the million. How would making that crappy product better make Beats more profitable?

Please, they are on this forum. Apple products make them feel like they are richer than they actually are when they have credit card debt stacked up.

When it comes to ignorant posts on this forum, this post is right near the top of the list. Over generalize much?

Or maybe the product isn't as bad as you think it is and many people prefer headphones with good bass like myself. MSFT spent zillions trying to launch the first version of Surface and failed spectacularly having to write off nearly a billion dollars because the product wasn't good.

Well, hopefully they were a gift.

/You can get the same Bass heavy sound for a fraction of the price now. Just can't get the big "b" on the side.

That Beats ad was fantastic from both a cinematography perspective and a story-telling perspective. I liked it because it told me a story.

A lot of Apple ads of late have been just boring to me. Not really any story to tell me and to me that's relatable, the best ads are the ones that tell me a story. It needs to be something concrete that I (the masses) can relate to.

For the eleventh billion time, they are not even in the same league as far as classiness goes. The Apple ads were poking fun at PCs... not a specific brand either... and they were light-hearted and usually funny. The guy playing the PC (John Hodgman) as lovable. Whether you agreed with the ads or not, they didn't leave some horrendous aftertaste when it was over.

Samsung's ads are bitter, uncreative, and filled with misinformation or piss-poor examples of every day use. They also specially bash Apple instead of being a generic statement like Apple did with their ads.

This is very well said. Those who think the Mac/PC ads are the same as the recent Samsung ads need to rewatch the former. Hodgman's "PC" was thoroughly sympathetic (though obviously "Mac" was supposed to be your favorite), if boring, and the two characters were quite friendly with each other. Moreover, the ads never attacked PC *users,* just PCs (generically) themselves. Samsung's ads, especially the "next big thing" ads around the time of the iphone 5 release, were downright nasty towards not just apple but apple users.

I don't like actual apple ads. I don't know why, but I feel like I'm not the target they're pursuing. It's like they target middle aged people, parents above all, and ancient people. Even more, they are totally american even outside the US, people in other countries can't empathize with them, they look culturally out of place and not polyvalent at all.

It's those "ancients" that are buying the iPhones and iPads for your generation an especially the generation that might be your younger siblings.

Why can't anybody else see that Apple is being taken over by the you-know-whos? I figured it out back in 2010. Steve Jobs was such a powerhouse that he managed to keep them at bay. Remember that MacRumors story about Steve Jobs' evading being tracked by not having a license plate on his car? Who do you think he was hiding from?

I'm not going to spell out to whom I am referring because I will just get banned and I don't actually care enough to risk it. But everyone knows exactly which unmentionable group it is which has got its claws into Apple and is turning it into just another ugly corporation.

Did this five minute ad really air before the World Cup? Five minutes?! That's insane!! That thing should've been 60 seconds tops.

o_O

What are you on about?

Apple hasn't released a really new product in ALL OF 2014.

Ask 1000 people to name the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/S5. Apple's phone product cycles occur between Sept and Dec, that is when we expect to see a new product, one that if rumours are true will be a game changer in the Apple universe. Taking a look at Apples sales numbers they do just fine releasing phones just once a year.

That ad was great... I'd never buy beats headphones, but this ad really captured a feeling. And it was kinda funny, seeing so many players (and former players) from completely different regions in the world.

Maybe americans just can't feel the same because they don't know the players in the ad or just because football isn't as popular...

Hopefully this ad does not run anymore. Talking about "armor" and seeing how Neymar got literally kicked out of the tournament with a kick to the back is a little too tragically ironic.

No, hopefully this ad never ran anywhere.

First, why LBJ if this is about assoc. football and the World Cup?

Second, they add in Suarez who is a known short fuse but no (that I recognized) Spanish, Dutch, or German players representing 3 of the favored teams in the tournament. Despite that they featured England, France, and Uruguay. Really?

Third, it REALLY looks like 3 minutes in there is a woman getting frisky. People getting frisky is their business but shoving it in my face makes it my business and I am taking my business away from Beats.
You don't know your players. I saw one German, one Dutch and two French players in the Ad. I assume one of the French players was included because of MLS connections.

They worked. We are all still talking about them nearly two years later. As far as the purpose of advertising Samsung has done a fantastic job. All that said, I hate their ads because i hate Samsung as a company not because they are bad ads. I'm very biased obviously but that company is just ****.

FYI for those that don't know: The New York Post is a bottom-feeding tabloid.
