We could only wish!!

But if Steve was going to unveil all of this goodness, would he not do it during the Mac World Paris Expo Keynote?

Was the clickwheel iPod or the iPod photo released at a big event?

Curious as I have vague recollections of them just happening.

Steve

I honestly think that the phone is going to be the "One More Thing" announcment at this event/

This isn't a Keynote. There's not gonna be a "one more thing", that one thing is all there is to it.

(the following is a generic message for everyone, not berkleeboy210 in particular)
It's a music event for the medias. Stop talking about new PowerBooks or intel Mac minis or whatever. Thanks.

iPod Photo got a brief mention at the iPod Socks introduction event.

The click wheel iPod was introduced on the front page of Newsweek.

Both at special non-Macworld/Expo events in the Fall. (Original and photo that is)

Clickwheel was done with Newsweek.

And that was the first time it'd been seen? Jeez.

So it's possible that something else could be shown today. I'm seriously doubting it but it's possible.

The Apple Insider article intimates that something wasn't going to be ready in time for Paris, which means it wouldn't be ready for today either. I think whatever major announcement coming between now and MWSF in January is going to happen today.

Here is my bet for today

Besides the phone and new shuffles I think, and hope, Apple unveils the new .Mac today. .Mac updates have been long overdue and we subscibers have been getting the short end of the stick for many months while the .Mac staff have been MIA. Look for the new widgets, backup 3 and I hope more space for users.

If Apple does not announce this today the .Mac feedback webpage will be getting another nasty letter. 😡

I think everyone is off base here. It's the iSight that's being updated.

Probably $299 w/ a New Contract, and $399 full retail if in an existing contract.

yeah... i am silently praying for a $199 price point since im in the market for a phone, but since i already have an iPod and a shuffle, i couldnt see myself spending the extra $100 over the RAZR when i dont need the music functionality..

Oh excellent. And how much will it cost?

Is it here yet? Is it here yet?

What about now?? ;-)

If true, we might see iTunes 5 today also.

If nothing else. If NOTHING else that would make the event worth it as long as its a "good" update.....version numbers mean Jack if there isn't anything to back them up. IMHO iTunes is getting pretty dang stale. Look at any discussion thread about "What would you like to see in iTunes 5" and you will find a number of good ideas, many of which HAVE to have occured to the good folks at Apple.

iTunes phone

We're going to be let down if the iTunes phone is what they are announcing. 1000 tunes in your pocket changed everything? I would agree that it changed a lot however to think that an iTunes phone would be more groundbreaking I think is underwhelming.

Maybe I'm biased as I can care less about cell phones.

I like cell phones but the thought of a Motorola phone with a tacked on iPod imitation is just not ringing my bell.

If it were a wholly Apple product that merged perfectly with Tiger apps, I might be excited.

Guess we'll see soon enough.
