Apple Media Event Announcement? iPod Updates Later...

Well........having read what seems like thousands of speculative posts on what Apple might release, the Apple phone doesn't seem that popular. However, I bet everyone will want one when it is announced. 😉 😉
 
IF there are updates (music related) products that we can buy today after the event, does the store typically go down @ the start of a media event?

Yes, I would think so. When they had the NAB event, the store went down. Of course, it always does during the keynote too, if there are products.

The announcement of an iTunes phone to be released in the future. I love announcements for the sake of having one.

anyone think if u download tunes on the rokr over the air it'll need to be 3G?

if so, wouldnt it make sense to include iChat in there too? maybe being able to video chat with ur iChat buddies? its def possible

Even with 3G phones, downloading songs via the phone will take a while, though 2.5G obviously has better coverage. Either way, I'm guessing they'll incorporate the cost of downloading into the song price.

As an aside, I wouldn't read too much into this talk of "Revolutionary", the way Apple hypes, if Jobs doesn't wear a black turtle-neck and jeans, that's revolutionary..

Personally, I think it'll be the phone, an iTunes update to support it, and that's it. Apple won't dilute the attention it gets by announcing another product. "IMO".

Me too. Motorola have never produced a phone with software worth using except for the UIQ based phones and even then that's just the best of a bad bunch. Phone OS and UI software is terrible across the whole market.
 
I hope its something exciting....

Its a trip because I work for Apple Computer in Elk Grove, and they have some of that product here, but we don't even know what it is. They said at 10:00 o'clock when they annouce what it is, that its going to be shipped to stores today. I'm just waiting to see what it is. 😀

Oooooooowwwwwww!! (Hey - I needed that...)

Another "crazy" idea sprang to mind a while ago. With all the talk of a crippled song storage unit on the phone, maybe the idea isn't so much to have your library on the phone at all.

I saw a TV ad for the new Yahoo Music service: access to a million songs for $5/month. Could this be a possibility? Streaming, or storing a que of songs to/on your phone? Bundle the fee into the phone carrier's monthly contract? Hmmmm...

I know, Steve said there would never be a subscription service, but this might be different enough to fly...

Just a thought... I hate the idea myself...

I might, except I tend to expect today will reveal nothing but a MOTOROLA phone, with Apple software tucked into one of the menus. 😱
