I think Prosser mentioned in a video that it is possible to enable lossless for AirPods with a firmware update. Essentially making the Bluetooth part of the product simply for non-Apple devices and discovery, but allowing the AirPods to connect using a different wireless method that could support lossless.
I’m not an audiophile though and don’t understand any of this minus the spatial audio stuff. And my ears aren’t that great so things the way they are seem to sound great to me on my Pros.

Good point about AC+. I didn't think about that possibility. Definitely don't want tiny shavings getting inside your ear canal. My father has Tinnitus and it drive him crazy.
I have severe tinnitus too. What I do is live in a world of sound using AirPods Pro. This enables me to play a masking sound using Apple Music (there are plenty of rain sounds and when you find something that works you can just put it on repeat) at a low level that covers my tinnitus but still allows me to interact with the world, watch a movie using Apple TV (on a separate device), etc by using transparency mode. At the moment I cannot have two audio sources on the same device but it looks like this is coming in a future update.
Hope this helps your father.

I appreciate you taking the time to post. I will mention this to him.

OT: Simon the Cat is a very cool cartoon.

Your welcome. Checkout Headphone Accommodations in Settings - Accessibility - Audio/Visual. You can also add Hearing to Control Centre. This enables you to configure transparency mode to suit.
AirPods Pro has truly been a life saver for me as the tinnitus was affecting my mental health.
I even use the above method at work - even in meetings - I just explain my personal situation when meeting new people.

Unpopular opinion: every year that goes by I care less and less for these Apple Events. Just put out a press release.
As time goes on, things that excited people when they were young tend not to excite them as much as they get older. Especially when the events are geared to the youth of today instead of the youth of yesterday. Not surprising at all and I’d guess not unpopular.

Wait another 20 years, and those that are excited about tomorrow’s event are likely to be in the same boat!

I’m going to make a wild guess, and I have no insider info whatsoever:

Adele will be there to drop her new album, just as U2 did in 2014 for the iPhone 6 launch.

Again, just a wild guess.

Apple Music needs a drastic change in the app. I love the clean and stylish design but finding songs and the speed of the app are disappointing. In addition to iOS 15, I look forward to seeing a new, better Apple Music 🎧

I agree with you. It takes too long to navigate. The basics of the UI are right, but the subnavigation functionality is very confusing. They’d benefit from having a simpler interface and a “Show Player Controls” type of button with a simple search icon in the corner with subviews for Library and Apple Music. Books also suffers from a similar type of confusion; it’s very frustrating to me, and I end up participating in the ecosystem far less than I do the App Store.

Just more caching would be nice. Sometimes you click to go to an album, then click back and it reloads the page instead of bringing up a cached version. It just makes navigating around a bit of a slog. Every page takes a whole second to two seconds to load, which *sounds* fast but compare it to Spotify and it's slow as balls.

I just want Spatial Audio (er, Atmos, I guess) on Apple TV through AirPods, however they do it. It sounds like a cool trick with music, but chances are super high whatever decades old track I want to listen to isn't going to have been mastered for it anyway. New movies and TV shows in Atmos I want to watch are a whole different thing.

For the most part, I think the new feature (as is in the current state of technology) will end up like Shortcuts, until mobile technology progresses further.

What I mean is, whatever hardware requirement makes it possible to have in an iPhone, the Apple TV should have it as well. It's just such a (potential) killer feature.

Good guess but I’m going with Billie Eilish since she’s sooooo Apple.

Special announcement for Apple Music lovers: Oprah is releasing her first studio album, and it will be automatically updated to all iOS devices.

I've used some rainfall tracks on Apple Music the same way, but haven't found a particularly natural-sounding track yet. Are there any in particular that you recommend?

I'm hopeful that more than a few classic albums will be available in Atmos. Dolby has already released an Atmos version of the title track from Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On," which is 50 years old this year.

Like obviously tho cause they have A8 and MacBooks obviously have their own chips. I don’t think it’s a question of whether any of those devices will support it, rather which headphones will.
You clearly don't understand the technology.

ANY HEADPHONE IN THE WORLD will support it. It's the devices we don't know about for sure.

Incorrect. Apple's spatial audio for video content (movies/tv) is only supported on a few models such as the AirPods Pro because it requires realtime head-tracking in relation to the screen/device.

Dolby Atmos Music, although technically "spatial audio" is not TRACKED spatial audio and therefore works on ANY HEADPHONE. Really.
The real issue is which devices can utilize Dolby Atmos Music -- currently, apple's website says iPhone 7 and above along with some iPads and Macs.

There should be a few support articles up tomorrow that clarify this stuff. They were taken down earlier this week with no content available to read/leak.
