I Hope We Get Some Hint Of How The 8 Core Will Fare Without Leopard For 6 More Months

I think FCP 6 will be the centerpeice of this presentation. But I'm also hoping Apple spends some time explaining how well (or not) the 8 core MP works as is and how it'll get through these next 6 months without Leopard to help it manage all those cores. If they don't talk about that, could be a hint they have the SS model coming up between now and October.

I still think the 8 core is a publicly available developer's platform more than anything else. But I admire those who pulled the trigger right away for one.

Also Apple will have a larger booth than ever before--Steve usually does not address at NAB as someone like Phil Schiller (mktg head) usually does.

One could reasonably surmise that this means significant new products will be launched at NAB!!

This is a positive surprise and not what people have been expecting.....

Just because looprumors says Jobs will do the keynote does not make it fact.

If he does do it he better be prepared for a not so friendly reception due to Leopards delay.

LoopRumors has a horrible history of "scoops" I don't believe this. Nor do I believe that video professionals really care about Leopard delays. The main question I'm seeing is "Will FCP6 be Leopard only?" I doubt that it will be but that's more of a pressing concern than delays to Leopard if what I'm reading on a few sites is indicative of overall sentiments.

I doubt any major hardware updates will be announced tomorrow. Apple focused a majority of its energies towards the iphone, and I really doubt any other product of theirs got any significant attention.

I'm going to keep my expectations low for apple now. It saves from major disappointment.

Well i dont think its that far fetched atleast we will know soon enough. Its been a dead year so far so hears hopping.

NAB is a broadcasters conference right, so anything released will be of prime interest to them. Withthis in mind I predict

8 core Mac Pro will be demoed

Release of Blue-Ray (and/or the other standard) burners

New improved cinema display maybe 25", 32" or 42"

New / improved Audio Visual software for Professionals

Perhaps an Aperture update

:apple: CamCorder with the new iGesture recording. Give the :apple: CamCorder the finger and it records what you point to :D

DISCLAIMER: I haven't a clue really.

Yes NAB is broadcasters conference. So my guess is the majority of apples conference will be aimed at that fact but it is also a venue in witch apple can release a product and get great media coverage. I would not put anything past apple right now though i don't think we will see any updates on the I line just yet and neither the macbook line. Though they could introduce a new product or update the pro and ACD. We will see soon enough.

I'm confused about this conference now. Apple does not appear to have any speakers there. In fact they only seem to be hosting workshops.......

Someone correct me if i am wrong?

I have emailed the PR person for this "event" and she still wont tell me WHO is speaking at the event.

Her Words : "We haven't announced who is speaking at the event"

This was the last I've heard from her.The day before the Leopard delay.

crazy. so many rumors over an event. more rumors than for MacWorld Expo!

i just want the new screens personally, as im not a 'pro' user currently.
an awesomely large screen would be great to watch v and movies and doing bits of design work on.

sorry arn i couldnt quite make it :p

you know what would be really crazy...

if Apple lied about Leopard's delay and suddenly announced a bug free final version of Leopard.

that, would be unheard of.

And it would really annoy developers, since they wouldn't get to test the final version with their programs.

Yah if there is any decent news comming out of NAB Stevey boy will be there but if hes not there then there will be nothing exciting coming out of NAB.
