Jeez.. The socialism fear mongering by the right here is incredibly telling.

You’re a country with various socialist components already and all the weirdest, most dumb things about your country are problems other western nations solved decades ago.. Using common sense policy you’d likely label socialist. But nooo, Murca can do no wrong, all hail.. unbridled capitalism? Who cares about those ground down on the sidelines. I got mine!

For a supposedly ”Christian” country you suck at pretending to respect christ’s teachings.

It’s not the left who’s obsessed with identity politics, that’s a meme to deflect - the right is obsessed with *other people’s* identity and tries to control the dialogue by repeatedly churning up *settled* issues. All this going on about id politics is engaging in identity politics. It’s the dumbest criticism around. The dems aren’t about abortions so much as standing up for women’s rights and bodily autonomy, a position they wouldn’t have to take if you’d stop being wrongheaded. Same applies to LGBT issues. Same for the border. You give them ammunition and then act like they’re wrong to use it? And you act like people overwhelmingly don’t care? Like it’s illusory? Hmmm. Good luck with that.

Stop going over the same **** again and again and society can actually make some improvements for everyone.

I guess we’ll see where this ultimately gets us, but everything is cyclical, your run will end, like everyone else’s.

I'll solve all the issues with four changes.

1. Congressional term limits to 3 and terms of 3 years.
2. Age restrictions on all USA Gov. office holders > 35 < 70
3. President age limits > 35 < 70
4. Restriction on family holding office or cabinets position in same branch as other family. (no more dynasty change)

President is not the problem but a distraction, change congress to fix the issue.

If you want to go there, technically the candidate with the highest number of total votes is who the people actually wanted.

And in this case, Hillary Clinton was America's choice. She is what the American people wanted.
And both times Barack Obama ran, he won the popular vote both times.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were America's choices.

Donald Trump was not America's choice.
Okie dokie but I don't see her in the white house just my bro Donald and his smoking first lady

I generally discount the opinions of foreigners. Most of you have zero idea what the Hell you're talking about. It's also why I try to stay out of the affairs of other countries.

Please understand much of the reason western Europe has such comfortable standards of living is because the United States subsidized your militaries during the cold war---you had the luxury of spending your tax dollars on free goodies rather than the military while we protected you. You'd think you'd show some gratitude, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know what you don't see in the UK or Europe? Apple, Google, Amazon, etc., etc. You enjoy your electronic toys precisely because we have a market, capitalist economy that invents them; not a socialist one. The reason you don't have any innovation and breakthrough companies is because of your suffocating, bureaucratic administrative state and re-distributive tax model. You should check your snideness at the door, or perhaps you can go play with the UK version of a smartphone or search engine.

Finally, I'm not sure what you've "solved." If you're referring to socialized medicine, I will LOL while people in socialist medical countries wait six weeks for a minor MRI (see, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2653696/).

Lookin fresh Bernie.

Edit: looks like they finally fixed it after a few hours.
That's supposed to be Cory Booker, right?

Yes.

And doing away with executive orders and administrative bodies, so laws and policies can be enacted by the duly elected legislature.

As it stands, the legislatures can be do-nothing and avoid responsibility, handing off their constitutional responsibility to other branches.

I didn't like Obama's executive orders and I don't like Trump's executive orders. We elect these idiots in Congress to pass bills; not parade around on cable TV and sleep with interns.

I think term limits might help with this--they'd certainly fix the problem of Congressman being worth next to nothing when they enter Congress but worth multi-millions when they exit.

Not as obsessed as leftists and the Democratic party are with infanticide and abortion 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, right up to and including birth (see the governor of VA, right before his KKK picture took the spotlight away from this gaff).

It's appalling and it's hurting the Democratic party. As science becomes more and more advanced, we see abortion is truly taking a life--it's murder. And the leftists and the Democratic party cheer for it--they "shout their abortions." They revel in it. They are empowered by it. And it's a scourge.

The uneasy compromise of "safe, legal and rare" is long, long gone.

You really went off into the deep end on this. yeah the democrats want abortion 24/7 and up until birth, just whenever you want no questions, give me a damn break.

Something, something, latte-sipping snowflake soyboy coastal elites.

The right loves dishing out the insults, but needs a fainting couch the moment it comes back at them. The persecution complex shines so bright it can be seen from Jupiter.
You’re welcome to insult me at any time. The point is that the "tolerant left" is such horse 5h!t. Sooooo tolerant. Lol. Sure. Silly red necks with their guns and bibles.

Andrew Yang is a breath of fresh air for Democrats. Just when you think there’s nobody moderate and with common sense on the Left, Andrew Yang and even Tim Ryan enter the race.

I wonder if Trump will get a profile or will Apple go the way of Google and boost one side while suppressing the other?
It's a "Candidate Guide to the 2020 Democratic Debates", as it says in the article title. So it lists Democratic candidates. Last I checked, Trump is not one. They're doing this because the first Democratic debate was tonight, with the second tomorrow. Who is Trump debating to become the Republican candidate? Presumably they'll cover that series of debates as well.

Trump is the incumbent. The incumbent's party always back them first, then someone else. The GOP debates aren't coming anytime soon.

'Cause, you know, we all want to go back to high food stamps, high unemployment rate, high regulations, laws limiting your chances to make money and start your own business.
Whoop-de-do.....bring in the democrats....so exciting to see how they manage to over-tax and over regulate me this time.

I’m from Australia, and while there are things I think America could do to improve, in general you are 100% right. I laugh whenever I see some Pom rant about his NHS. The best medicine is available in the USA. The downside is that individuals have to pay for it.
So in the USA treatment is rationed by price
In the UK it is rationed by queues.
So pick your poison. In any case, generally the price mechanism seems better for delivering innovation and improvement, while the queue mechanism spreads it more widely, but slowly.

A mix would be better (see land of Oz, aka down under).

Republican, Democrat, Green, Alien, Disembodied Ghost party, I don’t care. Apple needs to provide a way to turn off this force-fed political stuff in the News app.

Exactly! I first used Mojave when I got my $5K iMac Pro, and I was beyond shocked (and angry) that I couldn't remove the Apple News app from the machine- I can silence it, and control settings, but not REMOVE it. To me, it might as well be a Best Buy app on the desktop like my Windows computer came with years ago. This "News" app should be removable from these devices. One of the first times I felt betrayed by Apple in a long while.

I gotta say, reading a lot of these comments is warming. The Left is so unhinged right now and socialism is a vote away. I am glad that I am seeing many "pro Trump" comments. Capitalism is why we are the best country on earth and have been for a very long time.

Why are we in the US always so eager to declare our country the ‘best’ in the world.

Its a fine country, no doubt, but I think a lot of people who say that have barely even traveled to other US states, or checked out the ‘bad’ part of the very town they live in.

So without much actual research, we declare our country ‘the best’.
Seems to me that someone who boasts a lot is doing that to cover up their insecurity, or their low self esteem.
Does it make you feel better to constantly tell yourself you live in the ‘worlds best country’?

There is no such thing as abortion on demand quit making things up
Oh, there’s not? lol. Sure. #shoutyourabortion

So for all you lefties, let me explain something. It’s far easier to get an abortion than a gun. I know you’re all triggered, but it’s true.

In no other country could you have Apple, Amazon, Google or Microsoft. We could devote a whole sub to this topic. Whole sub.

The reasons for America’s superiority are legion. Stop hating your country.

Also, no Frisch’s in any other country.

Good lord my friend... being reluctant to declare my country the 'BEST' in the world is not HATING my country. But I guess for you, everything is binary?
I hope you realize the world, our lives, our countries, are complicated shades of grey. Those who think otherwise ... aren't thinking.

Have we lost our civility? Political views were considered a private matter when I was growing up. I think social media is obviously misusing their platform to push their agenda. There's no civil discourse in showing your colors. It never ends well.
