Bloomberg puts out a “report” like this about every three months, just before earnings season. It is market manipulation, plain and simple.
Exactly! Debby Wu and Takashi M are at it again. Dec 1 2021 they tried spooking investors with “Apple reduced iphone demand for holidays”……absolute shame on Bloomberg to have their name associated with this stock media manipulation.

This has everything to do with the war in Europe.

It’s driving down security.

It’s pushing up prices everywhere.

It’s making the dollar so strong compared to European currencies, so prices have to be bumped up.

Ironically, if it wasn’t for all the extremism and malicious behavior in social media apps for more than 10 years…

…we would have more social harmony, less conflict, less misinformation.

Politicians wouldn’t be able to use social media to twist and distort the public.

Those social media apps were distributed through the App Store and Play Store.

It’s like a self own. They distributed the apps, the apps hurt society and politics, and that hurts everyone’s business.

All the warning signs were raised a decade or more ago. Nobody did anything to prevent this mass confusion.

Because investors in FB and Twitter just wanted views and profits.
Cognitive Dissonance.

Social media was a mistake lol.

The fact is: they sell anyway.
It's like a luxury brand dominated by the fashion wave, even if the cost is absurd people ask for it and give everything for it.
Probably people like me and you are not going to buy, but there are others out there getting it anyway.
So why they should not increase their prices?

But it is times like these that shows companies are only willing to cater to the wealthy who can afford the price increases and not willing to help those struggling. Surely Apple would want people from all walks of life to purchase their iphones at a time like this, not just the well off.

let's open this up a little.

so who is doing this alleged manipulation, by way of the bloomberg report, and how might they monetize on it?

VAT differs from state to state, it’s not a blanket 21%. And as far as I know it’s not 21% in the US, isn’t it about 10 for NY? Plus, if exchange rates were “normal”, those 999€ would be about 1100$, just because markets play with currency doesn’t change what I make And am willing to pay.

what you are willing to pay is based on the local prices offered to you. if you live in, hypothetically, vermont, how would the prices in new zealand change your behavior

EU products also have statutory 2 year minimum. US products do not. in Norway, retailers need to ensure functionality of products for 5 years.

I would not buy and will not if I’m made an a$$ of, which this is, until I find heavy discounts or import opportunities. Surly the lowest prices sets the actual value, not what ever they inflate elsewhere. So for me, they are trying to sell it well above actual value. And it’s not 2 year coverage everywhere.

As many people around the world, especially in Europe are finding out that it's a case of either purchasing the latest iphone or putting food on the table and having heating. The only companies who are not going to suffer are the energy companies.

Lol. Ok

The actual value is whatever the marketplace of buyers and sellers agree on.

The marketplaces have natural boundaries be it geographical distance or political borders. If you can find your heavy discount or import opportunity (and somehow circumvent customs duty) such that it is more favorable than buying local, then the local prices could not be sustained.

Simply put, Apple could not sell anything in 1 place, everyone in that place could get it elsewhere for cheaper. And empirically this is not the case.

Whether you're an a$$ is your personal characterization. Apple certainly isn't thinking about that when they set their prices. Gasoline is virtually free in Kuwait. It's doesn't cost more in the US because American fuel retailers think of your personal character.

Since you quoted EUR prices as a basis of comparison, the iPhone has 2 years minimum coverage everywhere it is denominated in EUR (i.e. eurozone).

Yeah I’m personally waiting until the 15 when we all know they are going to reduce the default size of the island. It’s currently too big for my taste and I’m pretty convinced they deliberately made it bigger just so they can reduce it next year.
Possible, i think they designed the software after they designed the hardware as pill+dot, otherwise they would’ve made it one large pill. hope next year will be one large pill.

but personally i still cannot swallow the removal of sim card. Secretly hoping the sale of 14 in US tank so that they’ll bring it back in 15, or at least the unlocked version

Boosting production only means the fat cats get a bigger share price. iPhone 11, 12, 13, and 14 are so similar that it makes no sense to upgrade. Unless you are using an X or lower, there is no point upgrading. The non-pro models all look the same. Unless your pockets are lined with lots of $$ to burn.

Not surprised as the jump from 13 to 14 has to be the smallest jump in iPhone’s history. Perhaps tied with the X to XS.

The only thing the regular 14 did was make the 13 line a better deal.

Similarly, I'm not buying another iPhone until USB-C is implemented. There is nothing 'Pro' about Lightning. And maybe next year they'll find a better use for the SIM card slot instead of plastic blocking - so stupid.
Please describe to us your daily workflow that USB-C is a necessity. Also mention how AirDrop is inadequate for your uses
