I've been watching a lot of Criminal Minds lately and am starting to think that I have the ability to profile people based on their reaction the the iPhone 4 issue.

Those that won't change how they hold their phone, and whine about the dropped calls are the height of douchebaggery. Probably wear sunglasses indoors and drive, or know someone who drives, a yellow Hummer.

However, those that are, like, I don't know..., reasonable about the whole thing and change their grip get to continue to go about their lives as normal, well, those people are the type that are invited to my birthday party.

Frankly, I hope Jobs comes out and, in not so many words, says shut the F up. if you don't want to hold a phone differently, I don't want to sell one to you.

But he won't.

Probably a return period.

To insult those of us who are clumsy buffoons by calling us clumsy buffoons is just stupid. Perhaps you need to spend more time jumping down a flight of stairs or sprinting across the road. iPhone safe lifestyles are why this country is getting fat.

I live in a less obese country called Canada and make not dropping my iPhone a part of my healthy lifestyle.

If Apple determines a new production run of the iPhone 4 fixes the antenna issue, expect Apple to offer an exchange program to replace your iPhone 4 with a new production one without the antenna problem.

They better do it FAST because the last thing Apple wants is an FTC investigation of why Apple deliberately sold a defective product and why the company falsified information on the antenna flaw. That could result in a mandatory recall that could cost Apple a huge amount of money in terms of lost sales, lower stock value and a possible major fine from the FTC.

If...

Apple does a recall, and thats a huge if, it will be the coolest recall ever in the history of tech. They'll take back your phone at an Apple retail outlet and give you a new one. Job done (hehe get it Job done). You'll have a new iPhone 4 with the the antenna relocated.

It will no doubt cause a delay but it would be so cool if they stopped production, redesigned the antenna that is compatible with the entire device and rolled out production again to incorporate the new one.

Sometimes when crap hits the fan, its an opportunity to demonstrate who and what you are in the face of great challenges.

Steve do a recall just for a laugh and make it cost effective so you can laugh in the faces of analyst who have stated it would cost billions.

By the way, mines working great!

Frustrated with ATT returning iPhone 4 largely due to ATT. Its a great phone on a pathetic network. The reception problems are real unfortunately, but I think Apple will solve it, hopefully.

Great, another Apple fangirl with their head stuck so far up SJ's ass, hypoxia sets in.

So, you need to hold your iPhone in your left hand while you club a baby seal with your right? :)

Note: No office intended. I enjoy teasing Canadians, however, many of them are just as good as Americans. :)

I couldn't help but laugh at the 'journalism' of the linked article. I wonder who the ''people familiar with the matter are".

"Later versions, including the iPhone 3G that was launched in 2008 and the iPhone 3GS last year, also didn't hold a signal as well as other phones and experienced more dropped calls, people familiar with the matter said."

So now the 'spin' is that the iPhone has always totally sucked as a phone? because 'some people' say so. Some people also say that ice cream has no bones... doesn't make it 'news'.

Fanboys provide so much entertainment at times like this.

Aw, no recall.

Apple...

No kidding. The irony is thick and delicious. :)

Pay no attention to that hypocrite!!! Look at what he wrote.

Stop. Than look at his avatar and sig, now tell me that doesn't deserve his own retort!
This belongs in the Political forum, given you are using the posting to promote an opinion of a person involved in politics.
What a load of BS!

LMAO, he was the only one who had a problem with my post! I think I hurt his feeling by insulting his master!!! His avatar and sig combined is illogical, btw. Beck has ""leaders with delusions of Godhood" more so than anyone else!

What did your messiah Beck tell you to do today? Bitch about Obama? NM, your not worth the time.

...

Apple is going to be completely past this in the next 60 days, it won't even be an afterthought! Have some faith with there resources, they usually do not disappoint!

Many are just as good, most are better. ;)

P.S: That baby seal totally deserved it.

wouldn't they have just made the junction of the antennae on the corner at the bottom? seems to me that that would have avoided this problem for the most part. I can't see a way to hold the thing while touching the bottom corner.

who cares what the bars say, you can either make a call or not. Digital either works or doesn't unlike analog.

I think Steve runs Apple like his hobby. He happily lives his life until he thinks of a gadget that would go great in his own life. He calls on his little pet project called Apple to spend millions and millions of dollars so he can realise his imagination of "wouldn't it be cool if I could..." the act of selling apple products to the paying public is kind of secondary, a convenient way to recoup all the losses made due to the 10 teams and 100 prototypes that didn't quite realise what was in Steves head. We're a neccessary evil to his plan to sculpt his life exactly how he wants it.

Steve: "Reception issue? F**k it, it works fine for me, deal with it!"

x2

If this is true, Jobs needs to be removed. Sorry, but an elitist attitude hurting the public can not be tolerated.

Cases may help, but the cats out of the bag that the device is flawed and it will hurt Apple in the long run. It will also hurt your resale value.

This is not the Apple I love. This new Apple machine cares about the buck before the customer. Sad, but t looks like the transformation to greed is now complete.

Apple has now brought themselves down to everyone else's level. Nothing special here anymore.

Cry me a river.

A recall for an issue that most users can and will successfully avoid encountering as a significant problem, that can be fixed with a <$1 piece of rubber is the stupidest idea I've seen proposed in some time.

Anyone who has, since the Consumer Reports video, thought this would end any way other than free bumpers, is a fool

Please tell me you didn't use your real name for your username.

Agreed, but no nearly as much entertainment as the ignorant, Apple hating douches. ;)

I guess I must be one of those really weird Apple hating douches. The kind who owns an iPhone 4, iMac, and an iPad.

Or it could just be that people like yourself are so blinded by love for a corporation that you see everything through tinted glasses.

I bet your IQ is below 80  ( If you even know what IQ means )

I've also been watching all the old Criminal Minds episodes.....your "profiling" made me laugh!

You left out one thing....those CM stories are about serious problems to solve, not something like how to hold a cell phone....
