Anyway, back to the topic of aluminum macbooks...

HOw much longer must i wait!! i neeeeeed one

Hmm, I just bought a white macbook (maybe 8 days ago?), what do you all think I should do...I bought it from futureshop (which is the equivalent of Best Buy). Do you think I should bother to return it based on these rumours? I mean I need it for university in the fall (but I do have one uni course this summer, which I COULD make due without a laptop).

The update will address a few thing, such as faster processors, and and better battery life, etc. If it meets your needs, I would say keep it. Unless they update tomorrow, maybe?

Well it's about time. Those MBP cases, although cool, are getting very tiring to look at. Some stainless steel would be interesting but for some reason, everytime I think about it, I see that ugly "brushed metal" look from Tiger.

Count me in among those who feel like the current MBP design is timeless, and doesn't need any change.

But, I know I'm in a decreasing minority on that one.

Its tuesday now and no macbook updates :(

Where are these rumors coming from!?

Maybe we will have to wait till WWDC?

I need a sexy aluminium macbook in my life

I noe this is a bit far fetched

I'd like it if the Macbook were a bit thinner/lighter. Not as thin/light as the air, but moreso than now. Also, w/ the multitouch trackpad of the MBP and an LED screen :)

Seriously - don't post if you don't have basic grammar [and spelling] skills. SO annoying.

This is disgusting!

Nothing says creativity and originality like an iMac bezel, chin and all, stuck to the bottom of an ultra wide wireless keyboard. Why does it look like it's ready to fall backwards?

Oh yeah! Because it looks like a 20" iMac is making love to a wireless keyboard.

At this point I am kinda of hoping there is no redesign. Just so we can be pissed at Apple for not changing their look. :)

p.s. Yes, please bring back proper grammar and spelling to the threads. You aren't saving time by typing 'noe' instead of 'know' or 'rite' instead of 'right'

I've currently got an 17" MBP with an HD screen. It's a bit of a pain lugging it around. I've been on the verge of downgrading to one of the latest Penryn 15"ers. But I would really miss the HD screen though.

So for my wish list for the updated Pros, I'll will be hanging out for a 15" with an HD screen option. Apple please ditch the DVI connector and stick an HDMI there instead. At least you can use a single cable to hook up to HDTVs or Cinema amps.

Those are my big asks. Perhaps a bigger touchpad like the MBA. And if they are coming in June/July time, then a 500GB HD option.

I was going to say the same thing, and I am definitely a punctuation/spelling nazi, at least for the most glaring examples. However, it is difficult many times to tell if we are dealing with a lazy person or simply a person with English-as-a-2nd-language. I'd hate to be seen as a di**head.

When people buy a Macbook Pro are they buying it in place of jewlery?

Reading some of these post I get the idea that some of you want form over function. When I buy a computer I want function and performance more than bling or because it is so light a premature infant can carry it. Sure weight matters to a point but I get the impression that some people would rather buy a 2 pound piece of jewelry(less functional/performing) vs a Macbook Pro that is the best performing most functional computer on the market.
I just hope Apple does not read the post of people wanting the better trinket and think that is what they should make, instead of a computer.

i'm sure that people juggle between aesthetics/performance all the time when they buy something, but it is obvious that apple cares very much about how their products look.

Not that I don't agree with you, but this was a mock-up done by wired.com when they received some information about the MacBook Air's form factor.

Its interesting that we're complaining about the look of the MBP and how it needs refreshed, when I'm sitting here watching an advert for yet another new laptop (a Toshiba this time) which is trying to get the brushed aluminium look of the MBP and failing.
