I will say that I hate the look of all PC desktops and Notebooks. I love the Tin can look of the Macbookpro.

I cannot wait until the current Macbooks take on the aluminum exterior. The design is simple but nice. PC's seriously look like there from the 1990's even now in 2008.

What the hell?

I've been a PC user since the late 90's and I am eager as hell to make the jump to Apple. I have all these Apple gadgets but no Apple computer.

I have my $$ ready to go and I will not be outdated within 90 days of my new purchase. I almost caved last week and bought a Macbook but I didn't.

I am so excited to buy an Apple computer that lately I haven't been able to sleep at night.

My mind is racing. I watch all these unboxing Macbook videos and it's killing me. I just came across the 2nd Generation iMac G4 on craigslist and it reminded me of the time I wanted to buy that model back in 2002.

But I couldn't afford it. I think it was 1699 or so back then. I've always sat quietly in the shadows admiring Apple products. But now it's getting really bad for me.

I hope this happens soon. The Aluminum look is seriously the icing on the cake for Apple Notebooks. I just never really liked the white and black plastic casings.

Conscience to Right Ear: For Heaven's sake, please buy it and let your emotions reach its peace.

Conscience to Left Ear: What the Hell! Just buy it.:D

Hey, I'm new to the forum but have been following the mac circuit for a few years now. I've been waiting for the new (or have the rumors mislead me) Macbook Pro for several months now, I actually could have bought one in Feb when it was last refreshed. I deceided to wait till june when they would unveil a slightly newer MBP. I was disappointed, lol.

Anywho, I'm gonna buy an iPhone 3G to tide me over till the new MBP but after reading the last few pages I'm beginning to think I should just buy the laptop and be done with it. I've been waiting for 5 months with the cash for one and am sick of waiting. I can't see them releasing a new MBP till after the college term starts again, and even then they'd be announcing their new iPod lines.

On the other hand, I don't want to buy one and then regret it 15 minutes later when the new MBP is announced. I just know it will happen. Anywho, sorry if I am repeating what others are saying I just feel like I need advice.

Cheers.

Ok, I can really tell we'll be getting the new MB and MBP soon. On macmall.com There just giving away computers. The MBP on 4th of July are only $1500! :)

Lol. the 1500 ones are last generation (pre-February update)
And the current ones are around 1800. Still cheaper, I guess. But I wouldn't say they are just giving them away.

This isn't my design, but I just hope that either the MacBook AND the MacBook Pro looks like this:

Again, I did not make this.

You may not have made it, but saying that you would like to see the MB or MBP look like that says a lot... to each their own I guess...

But that design is terrible and doesn't offer anything different from the current design but another case to hate. Unless it's going to have more hardware options across the board, forget about it. And forget about that cursed MB keyboard. Been using it for a while now and it's only good when there is NO key cover over it and you don't type on it for longer than 5 minutes.

I laughed out loud when I read your post! We are all just a pathetic group of techno junkies! I bought my last one a month and a half ago and it's therapy for me to hear what you all are going to be buying. I swear the night before I could hardly sleep just knowing I was going to pick out my MacBook.

You are amazing to have held out so long. AMAZING.

Hahah so right. I love us: our techno pain, suffering, waiting and sleeplessness. I'm waiting. To all else who are, you're not alone!
FYI it's an incredibly hard choice: MBA, BlackBook or wait for a standard MacBook revision.
I hope the iPhone will keep my Apple lust satiated ^_^ .

Yeah, I neeeeed the new iPhone. Some lucky relative will inherit my old one. I love the all the new changes and I appreciate how rapidly they are happening... in reality you can't go wrong with these products. Whatever you choose in a few months Steve will invent the Uberlaptop and we will all be salivating again. The ache starts and then you open the lid of your latest purchase and it goes away for awhile. I do love my new Blk MB... I had a MBP but my son needed it for his work and I really never tapped into it's power or needed it. I was a total idiot when I was trying to decide between the MB and the MBA. The white, the black...ahhhh the Air... So, so, tough. And then I see these posts about new designs. Augh. So, I'll just live vicariously through the purchases of the rest of you when it happens.

Yuck. I bought my Blackbook just to make sure to avoid an ugly swooped aluminum thing like this.

I'm glad that you like that Dell PC Black look on the Macbook, because I will gladly accept the nice future proof Aluminum look of the Macbook Air in the new Macbook Revision.

Can't wait. I welcome it.:)

Also I just came back from the Sacramento Apple store again today. I had the money in my pocket ready to go. I didn't buy anything. I played with the Macbook and the Macbook Air side by side for One hour. I had to figure out what I loved so much about the two machines.

After that I walked out of the store and came home. I now know that I have no choice but to wait. I really love the Aluminum look of the Air along with the LED Screen. I decided that the LED screen is a must. I can deal with white plastic but I have too have that LED Screen.

It's killing me though.

*disgusting, unprofessional tapered-edged monstrosity*

Again, I did not make this.

Good. The thing's hideous. Don't taper my caper!

...

I just... wanted to be like, "Don't copy that floppy!" ...I failed, I guess...

Keep the tapered edges on the MacBook Air. What I want is HDMI for DVI, an eSATA, a FireWire 3200 in place of the 800, and another USB on both models.

the visible screws on the casing and the plastic rimming is from the PowerBook design. i hope the new MacBook Pros will have no visible screws and and aluminium edges like the MacBook Air.

good mockup though! does it have an optical drive?

ironically, yes. or maybe not... I don't know.

What bothers me is the dark gray border, hideous visible screws, and the uglyful open case button.

The border will posthumously bother me only if they find an elegant solution that gets rid of it. The visible screws can and will be taken care of in the vaporware redesign. Finally, the open button can be taken care of with a magnetic latch.

If nothing else is changed, (besides the port changes I have outlined above) then it will be perfect. That means you, MacBook keyboard.

Personally I am fine with the current design of the MBP; however the MB needs a different case. Colored aluminum would be awesome.

it would be cool to see an aluminum macbook but doesnt the aluminum cases mess up the wireless signal? if they could simulate a aluminum case with some other material

Yes! Like the colored iPods! College students would by those up! Yellow, blue, red, green, orange, and, the newest addition, pink! Chicks dig pink laptops

theres no grey border on the MacBook Air, just solid aluminium. if the "PowerBook" MacBook Pro's casing is redesigned this year its 5 years in the making so im pretty sure Apple could get rid of it.

black aluminium would be cool.

and yes England and English colonised countries spell it "aluminium"… im not going to change how i spell just because im on an American forum :D
