Does anyone know if we preorder from AT&T if the phone will be delivered on the 14th? I remember apple setting up preorders that way in the past, but not sure if it is the same if ordered from AT&T.
Correct. T-Mobile subsidiaries in Europe are using the frequencies designated for European 3G service which is the same in all of those countries.so, this was historically the case, with US phones from AT&T trying to operate on the t-mobile system in the USA. Question is, if this is now a truly world phone, then why wouldn't it work on the t-mobile freqs in the usa? Is t-mo international operating on a totally different frequency than t-mobile usa still for roaming?
incorrect, you will get 3G with Straight Talk's SIM card from Nokia E71 (you need to buy the Nokia E71, not the other cheaper Straight Talks)
You will get 3G, but there is Soft Cap of 2Gigs so you cant abuse it. (they have disconnected people for going over, even though its not techinically written anywhere...they advertise unlimited data, but there definietiley is that Soft Cap
Thanks for the info! Also, is there a way that I can switch my address to my current address? It still has my old address in the books and I don't want it shipped there, and I cannot find an option to let me switch shipping locations.
I ordered through the AT&T website last night but there wasn't an option to purchase applecare+. I read on a blog that Apple is going to require it to be purchased at the same time the phone is purchased. Does anyone know if I can still buy it and how to?
I'll have to look into that. For now I get a 23% FAN discount on AT&T through my employer, but I prefer unlocked, anyway.
Do you actually have to buy the e71 or can you just get the SIM card with the more expensive plan? $179 is a bit much for something I'm never going to use (plus who on eBay would want a Symbian phone?), on top of the $649 for the unlocked iPhone 4S.
The servers, however, seem overloaded at the time of publishing so may take a while to get your orders in.

Who saw this little ditty?
"The unlocked iPhone works only on supported GSM networks, such as AT&T in the U.S. When you travel internationally, you can also use a micro-SIM card from a local GSM carrier. The unlocked iPhone 4 will not work with CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint."
... how does that even make sense? It's a world phone? Although now that I read through it again it calls it the iPhone 4, not the 4S... but I took this directly off the 4S page.
Well, I pre-ordered (reservation is cancellable) but my carrier has not yet released pricing nor do they provide eligibility to upgrades info.God I suddenly hate my carrier. Both Telus and Bell provide the info on their websites, but no, not crap Rogers.
Anyway, hesitated to get it unlocked straight from Apple as we do not have to wait here in Canada to get unlocked phones, unlike you yanks.![]()
