Also for the folks who had unlimited plan from previous iPhone plans at $30, it was strange that AT&T asked to cancel it and then gave that same option again at checkout.
At least I feel I will keep that going. Now I want to now if I can had the Hotspot at no charge like they say on their site....:confused:
 
next Friday early in the AM and I'm getting my 64GB White one. On the last launch in February, there were 7 people at the front waiting. I bet I can get one when they open. Verizon is kinda tricky, when you do the online thing and you are grandfathered in with the Unlimited Data, the system doesn't recognize Unlimited anymore, you have to accept a plan and then call 611 to get back into unlimited. I'm saving the grief and I'm doing it in my store and giving the sale to my favorite Verizon employee, she's a sweetheart and she helps me with every one of my issues. Too bad I won't be buying any accessories from her, not even a case. I'm buying Magpul cases (http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG451/125), $9.99, they really protect and they Match my Boom-Boom Stick.

I was able to upgrade two lines last night on Verizon's website while still retaining my Unlimited data...
 
Hello - I gave up on the apple site last night and pre-ordered mine through AT&T (why am I so nervous about doing that?) anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew if apple is still open right now (11:30 EST) for pre-orders still? I don't want to cancel my AT&T order and then Apple say that there are none left! :)

Anyone happen to know?

Okay thanks that makes me feel better. I didn't write down that ridiculously long order saris number because I just figured I'd receive a confirmation email immediately so now I have no way of checking my order on their website ad no email lol. Frustrating....

There's this thing called a screenshot... use it. Takes 3 fingers and half a second.

But anyway; if you haven't surfed the net too much, try going back and finding the page in your history. You might need that number if complications arise.

I pre-ordered just before 8 am Eastern, and it said 1 - 2 weeks, but the confirming email said: Leaves Apple: 1 - 2 Weeks, Receive it: 24 Oct - 31 Oct.

Maybe Canada Post is slow.

Order Already Exists

Yep. Exact same thing happened for me. So frustrating.:mad:

I actually was naive enough to call Apple to try to resolve it and after actually getting through and escalating through 3 CSRs, it still is not resolved. I couldn't hold any longer as I DO have other things to do today. :)


At this point, I'm just hoping that I don't find myself at an Apple Store next week confronted with a similar excuse. It's comforting to know its not just affecting me. I can, ironically, order through AT&T's site... but after having had each iteration of the iPhone, I don't trust AT&T enough to go that route.

Please post if you're able to find a way to resolve the issue... thanks.
 
AT&T Customers who ordered through Apple

Quick question. For the data plan I noticed that the data plan was for $30. Does anyone know if this is the unlimited data plan? I was an original adopter and was just wondering if this was the case. If I have to wait to find out, no biggie; just curious.

When I ordered mine, $30 was what showed as the price for unlimited.

Don't cancel it. I ordered through AT&T last year and still got it a day early. They handle it in the same manner that Apple does. No open boxes, good shipping...etc.

Unlocked is stated to not be released until November. That's why.
 
Well, AT&T apparently flipped a switch or something. Just attempted pre-order through Apple and got to the point of checkout. But the Apple/ATT integration seems fine where 30 minutes ago it was jacked up.
Switched over to AT&T and sailed right through their upgrade process. Ended up using AT&T so they wouldn't screw up our family plan doing it through Apple, just in case.

Got both lines on the family plan upgraded and ready to rumble

+1 with that experience. Apple's order page was asking me to select voice and texting plans that were at odds with (and more expensive than) my existing family plans with ATT. It wasn't clear what the deal would be with that; was my "second" family line's cost going to rise from 9.95 to 60 a month?? So I switched to AT&T's site to make sure (hopefully) that my family/cheaper plans got grandfathered in. The order (32gb black) went through smoothly on the first try.

First phone order thru AT&T here; fingers crossed.

Like many, my upgrade eligibility date was moved up to next month from Feb 2012.

Anyone not waiting for their upgrade pricing/date and buying at full price is nuts!

And mine was moved to "anytime after December 2, 2011". I want the 64GB and my wife probably does too, it would be way too expensive if we hadn't been subsidized. So I wait.

I just called AT&T, as I couldn't get the order to process and keep unlimited data and 5$ messaging online, either at apple.com or AT&T.

Calling att they said all would remain the same, 5$ messaging and data no issues. they just need to code it properly.

I DID get the name of the CSR and will dispute any changes.

Only real downside with AT&T ordering is possibly the returns policy and the 9.99$ shipping charge

Sorry - didn't explain it well. Not if they would be "opened" or not. But, if Apple would still be taking pre-orders for shipment on the 14th? Sometimes their shipment slips when you don't order early enough.

I would check it myself but when I went to check it it told me that I already had one on order (through AT&T) and would have to cancel that one first. I didn't want to cancel through AT&T and then go to the Apple online store to pre-order and then get a message saying "4-6 weeks shipment" or something like that if they have sold out already.
 
That's only in the US. In other countries the unlocked model will be available on the 14th.

Ah.. Alright.

On another note... anyone here, who ordered from Apple, able to access your order status? I keep getting the "we'll be back soon" screen.

Exactly. I'm on a family plan. Through Apple, it seemed to not pick up on that and have the bill at ~90 at the end. Stopped, went to ATT, entered my phone #, zip, and prime account holder's Social, and upgrade the line with the option to keep my 2gb data plan, which I did.

Took me 10 minutes.
 
Sounds like I should have just got up at 6:30 EDT to order. Oh well.

I did end up getting two iPhones pre-ordered through AT&T (one for my wife and one for myself). We both currently have a 3Gs, so the 4s will be a nice upgrade. The whole process, between waiting for the sites to come up, error messages and web pages timing out, took two hours.

I now see that I have also "reserved" a iPhone through Apple. This would be a third phone. I don't want it. Tried calling Apple and can't get through. Went on the website and don't see how to cancel the reservation. I suppose, worst case scenario, it sits there till tomorrow at 5:00 PDT. Anyone have suggestions on how I can release that one?

Glad to have the phones coming, but it sounds like I didn't need to be up that early.

Well.........

I just received a call from my credit card company. They noticed that AT&T submitted two temporary charges for $1.00 on my account, followed by the two charges for the two iPhones that I wanted to purchase. My credit card denied the charges, suspecting fraud.

AT&T tried to run the charges at least two more times thereafter. Not to be deterred, my credit card company denied those as well. My credit card company said this is sometimes how entities try to submit fraudulent charges. I said its AT&T, not Joe's Corner Store.

I think I just lost my pre-orders. What the heck?
