Mind boggling at how many people will go nuts over $19 when purchasing a $700-1500 phone... especially since most of us here have an abundance of power adapters (which is the whole idea... less e-waste).
Amazing how many people at Apple decided to go nuts over this on a 1500 phone by not giving us this and not reducing the price and then uttering their magic spell "good for the environment".

Not even a voucher if you actually need one? Guess they have to squeeze that extra $19.

One more reason to go with the Pixel 5.
Even Pixel owners aren’t going with the Pixel 5 :) And they do have a voucher for $10 off. They check to see if you’re buying the upgrade of their old $29 adapter and take $10 at the register. :)
I dont understand who has USB-C adapters laying around in this day and age
iPhone 11 pros did...
And iPad Pros. And Every MacBook. So, yeah, there are quite a few out there.

Fast charging. I have a million of them lying around, including the charger in my car.
but to fast charge you need to buy a 20$ adapter ? None of this makes sense... you have a lot of USB-C adapters laying around ? From what exactly ? I wonder how many people like you ? I have 1 from my Max Pro thats it... Its not fair to do this to people, at least charge less for the phones to show something... but phones are actually more..... I dont know this just rages me, and Im not sure why, doesnt impact me much now, but the whole precedents that I cant use my device from the box with out needing something extra and something specific is just not sitting right with me... its like going back to the car sales days of needing to pay extra for the tires..... I guess over time being a fan for apple, I came to learn to be disappointed with them...

$20 for an adapter that most people don't have, unlike the USB-A models, and $30 extra for T-Mobile/Sprint/unlocked iPhone 12 devices. Sounds about right for Apple.

I didn't say it's fair. Apple not including a charger and now this ... thing ... is just stupid. But the box is thinner and lighter!

I missed the $30 for unlock. Thats new? Oh my goodness. Why do I continue to let myself be abused like this?

Really?? Not a single iPhone came with USB-C. What makes Apple think that customers would have a USB-C Power Adapter?? If I'm only an iPhone user... then I would have never had a device that would include a USB-C Power Adapater

Well a lot of us like fast charging so we would never use the slow charger apple sent with the phone. That charger was a joke.

Quite few.... but not a lot compared to iPhone numbers.... So regular scenario anyone who just had a none 11ProMax / Mac/book user would need this adapter unless they have a 3rd party one... so thats normal then ? LOL

less packaging also means Apple can ship more items in the same space; which equals less costs to them. Does it save the environment? Who knows, but more items on the same cargo plane means more money for Apple.

The Pro’s from last year came with the 18w USB C power adapter

So? That’s not “most people”

According to the Apple website, you can still charge the new iPhones with the lightning to USB-A charging cable/adapter. I’m assuming it will take longer to charge but avoids spending more money.
