It is quite possible that it costs a little bit more to produce in this colour and they are charging appropriately for it.

For example. I make jewellery. You can have have a piece made in plain silver for, say, £129. If you want rose gold plating, you can have it for £149.

Of course. It is also quite possible that this isnt the case at all and they are charging a premium for exclusivity. Some would say I am naive, I'd just say I'm not a complete cynic.
[doublepost=1522238297][/doublepost]Whats the big knob for? ;)
What do you guys think of this:

I am having a tough time choosing between the craft and the new space grey one.
I actually like the butterfly keys tbh, but idk. Would the craft be the better choice?

Budget is 200, can't buy them both unfortunately.

Matias makes a keyboard with design that emulates the Apple design. With backlighting, and it can be paired with four different bluetooth devices at once. Available in four colors. I have one, works great with macOS and Windows.

This one looks to be so much better than Apple's one, as it has better functionality' at a fraction of the price.

Apple's one only has support for ONE device??

I mean, really... Apple know full well that people often have many devices on their desk at one time (I have: 2x macs + pad + iphone), yet they offer absolutely zero options, apart from ONE device at a time.

...in other news, the UK price of the Pencil has dropped to £89.00 from the previous 99.00 (from the previous 79.00 on it's initial release!).

(dunno if the Edu price of it's lower, AFAICT it's behind a .edu firewall, so...? )

Ordered yesterday and have them sat at home waiting for me but won't be home for several days!

Does anyone have theirs, and can confirm if it comes with the black Lightning cable?

Both must do, as how else would they expect you to charge them.

Emphasis on the "black", i.e. as opposed to white. With the iMac Pro a black Lightning cable is included. Apple could want to keep that an iMac Pro exclusive, and ship the standalone accessories with white cables.

Previous iMac Pro box openings show a black cable in the KB/pad/mouse box itself:
@7mins: 7:00

But the retail versions of the boxes will be slightly different for each of the three purchased separately space grey items. So to be sure, I suppose others will have to confirm that each one of them (KB, pad, mouse) each have a black Lightning cable in each of their boxes. :-\

Lots of $300 range gadgets coming from Apple now a days, trying hard to close the earnings gap due to iPhone X sales volume!

TC is playing clever by lining up Apple Watch, HomePod, Air Pod, sort of mitigation strategy to offset any debacle. In between throw sundry iPad upgrade, MacBook lipstick, Keyboard, Mouse sort of line up!

Thanks my Logitech K801 BT Keyboard and Trackpad bought many years back, still work.

Have you tried returning it? I've heard of cases where Apple handled the 14 day return policy very leniently, although it most certainly depends on which people you get to talk to. If you just want a space gray one instead, I also wouldn't rule it out that they let you swap them out (for the price difference of the two) if you happen to talk to the right guy.

Thanks... yes I'll try.

Haven't opened mine yet but they arrived at home today (was expecting on Friday) Will update later today... I would imagine it does not come with cable since neither of the white ones did...

Actually, yes, when one looks on the Apple site, under each item it lists "what's in the box," and there is indeed a lightning cable included. Unfortunately it does not specify the color! My Space Grey mouse and keyboard aren't arriving until Friday; it would be really neat if the cables ARE black, something a little different, but I won't be disappointed if the cables are the standard white ones after all.

YAY!!!!!!! Black cable!!!!!! That's really cool! I am so looking forward to having my gorgeous space grey keyboard and mouse on my desk, surrounded by my Space Grey iPads and iPhone, with the silver 15" 2015 MBP with its black keys.....it will look so much nicer than the white keyboard and white mouse!

Well I didn’t pay that much attention... you are right - Black cord included

Still can't believe there's no backlight option. I understand wanting a wireless mouse, but I'd be perfectly fine buying a wired keyboard that was backlit (ironically when they did have a wired option, it wasn't backlit either).

Starting today, Apple is selling the Magic Keyboard With Numeric Keypad in Space Gray on a standalone basis, allowing customers who don't own an iMac Pro to purchase the accessory for $149.

The Space Gray Magic Keyboard was introduced alongside the iMac Pro and was previously only sold alongside that machine.

Apple is also selling a Space Gray version of the Magic Trackpad 2 for $149 and a Space Gray Magic Mouse 2 for $99, which means that all of the exclusive accessories sold with the iMac Pro are now available to all customers.

While iMac Pro owners still get a main machine that's available in an exclusive Space Gray color, the accessories, which had been selling on eBay for quite a bit of money, are no longer exclusives.

Orders placed today for the new Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2 will ship out and deliver later this week.

Sadly, there's no space grey version of the compact Magic Keyboard 2...

These are pretty sexy. Might have got them for my PC but £100 for a mouse and £150 for a keyboard here In the UK just seems.... obscene

I"m typing on my new keyboard and using my new mouse!!! They arrived this morning, much to my delight. Originally delivery had been scheduled for Friday, then Thursday......but I wasn't expecting them until some time in the afternoon, which is when the FedEx guy usually arrives. They are just beautiful -- absolutely gorgeous!!!! As planned, they look really great on my desktop with the Space Grey iPads and iPhone sitting nearby and they nicely complement my 15" MBP with its black keys. The keyboard is nice and flat, nice and straight, unlike my white one, which has somewhat of the infamous "banana curve" shape. I think the shiny black top surface of the mouse will probably be a fingerprint magnet, though, much more noticeably so than the white one. Overall, although these are not inexpensive I am very pleased with them.

Oh -- and the black lightning cables are really, really cool! After pairing the new mouse and keyboard with the computer, I then promptly plugged the black cables into my black iPhone docks (I have a couple) and they look SO much better!!! If Apple sold the black cables separately now I'd snap up a few more, even though I've got a zillion white lightning cables.....

Give it a wipe over with a slightly damp magic eraser and it’ll be like it’s brand new again

It's not though, the plastic wears away, at first it's satin finish and after a while it wears to a gloss - you can't replace the worn plastic unfortunately!

$150 for that keyboard? My god that’s inflated. $69 is more like it. a full RGB gaming tournament keyboard costs $150. And from a comparatively tiny company. It’s amazing what apple gets away with.

But I wouldn't have the Full RGB gaming keyboard even if it was free.
