Hmm I wonder how many e-mail messages that guy who posted his e-mail address on the picture is going to receive after having circulated that picture... more than his Hotmail storage? :)

I wonder how much spam anyone who mails that address will be signed up to :)

Time

to sell my remaining stocks for apple.. on top of jobs having a heart attack (yes, he did IN FACT have a heart attack, obviously apple is going to deny it to save stocks from going down any more,) this company will slowly go down the tubes.. albeit in a trickle effect.

Yep, that's why the SEC is investigating the FALSE report of his heart attack. Apple is lying to the SEC.

Anyone know how much I would be able to get for a used about 2 month old blackbook if I wanted to purchase one of these after today's keynote....

Thanks in advance.

The current MacBooks available at Apple...you can swap the HD, right?

Correct with the Macbook, The MacBook Pro (as Max indicated) is not "user" swappable currently. That was a big reason I didn't jump onto the Pro, as changing it yourself on that system could essentially void your warranty (though many do it themselves anyway).

Old style =/ New Style

My best guess at what people will complain about:

1. Price
2. "The trackpad is a button??"
3. Glossy screen
4. Lack of Mini Updates
5. lack of iMac updates
6. Lack of Mac tablet
7. Lack of Blu-Ray

You should add the fact that the old macbooks will be sold alongside the new ones. If so that will be really, really lame.

This is the best misinformed Keynote speculation ever!!:D

Good job Steve!

I truly hope you are right...but I fear you're not

What if all of the prices include the $899 "dock monitor" with the notebook?...now that would be groundbreaking....too groundbreaking I suppose

looks creepy to me. I am killing myself trying to keep up with all "breaking news", am tuning out till tonight to see some coherent overview of what's presented today...

Bloodpressure is way to high due to this speculation and fragmented revelations...:D

FUNNY to suddenly see everybody is online......we're weird!

So I begrudgingly bought an MBP for Back to School after my Powerbook G4 blew up. I was frustrated that I was essentially buying the same laptop again, four years later. I had to have one for grad school.

Now this!

Can anyone think of any way I can get rid of this machine and get the new one? eBay perhaps? :(

Every time I click the Engadget link it kills all my open windows. Guess I'll just stick with Gizmodo.

I don't have my hopes up about this one. You can never know for sure beforehand, but the recent rumors that have come out so far certainly don't point to anything great being released today.

Hopeful that was Apple's plan all along and these rumors are all fake leaks to keep people's hopes down so that we'll really be excited when he surprises us with the truth. But... I'm not holding my breath.

Umm, does the screen backing (with the apple logo on it) look like its a rather funny aspect ratio to anyone else?

We don't have a ruler present, but the whole case looks quite small... Or maybe the white piece of paper with the email on it is very large.

Good job Steve!

Not really.

Ha Ha Ha.

Did anyone think that Apple would make your MBP obsolete over night? Gimme a break.

Did anyone REALLY think that a Macbook would have dedicated GPU AND come in at $899. Ha ha ha ha, stop, please, stop, oh gosh, I can't stand it, he eh hee ehee hee, stop, haaa whoo whoo hooo hee hee, haa haa.

Steve>? Hahaaha. Have a brain and realize that 1% of the PRO market in graphics and media is offset 100 times by gamers who would by macbooks in drooves if it had a good GPU. Whooo hoo hee aah haa haa, stop, stop, really.

I have seen it all.

Apple will NOT become what most of us want it to be until Steve is gone and Ive's is in control. Then and only then will you see a great machine with great graphics.

And by the looks of some of these rumors, I think, if true, the older Macbook Pro's just went up in price. I remember everyone selling their iPhone only to find out it was worth more, not less, after the new iPhone came out. No firewire? Glossy Only? That cannot be true. If it is, that's pretty bad. So it can't be, Steve can't totally run the company.

I still don't get why the marketing department tells Steve that HEY STEVE, the numbers show that if we release a $10.00 US DOLLAR Graphic card in the macbook, many gamers will buy it, the Pro's will still buy the high end and the lower end, and we'll make a killing (See if Apple released $899 how market would grow by 67%), but wait fan boys, tell us sweetly, that STEVE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT GAMING (larger than music business), of course he does but he's so paranoid that the PRO would not buy the high end, his brain is fogged. If all these rumors are true, there might be some WOW factor, but you heard it hear FIRST, I would be stunned to see HIGH END GPU or any gaming (translation MOTION USE) on a Macbook. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN unless marketing department slapped him silly.

The Macbook could never play games, yet it went (in terms of benchmarking) on the macbook from:

71%
110%
141%
171% (same machine with Leopard) and every site said while you could NOT play games you could run motion, so what does Apple do with its fear of the 1% using it??? It cripples it and releases X300 which then runs at 71% again and no motion.

Yeah, okay, Macbooks will all have great GPU.

LOL. No way, makes too much sense, and Steve doesn't have any.

Rah Rah EFI-X.

Anyway, if the rumors turn out to be true and the CPU is the same but with a better GPU this means, STEVE FINALLY GOT IT and realized that the gaming community far far far far BY FAR out weighs the 1% that uses it for PRO use. The HIGH END USER (me and others) will always buy the low end and ever more so now, especially at aluminum and low end.

Installing it by yourself does not automatically void warranty. Many customer's of mine do it themselves. It's not that hard if people do research and find proper take apart instructions. On flipside, if you attempt it yourself and damage anything in the process your are on your own. Where I work we would not put it through under warranty if there even the hint of damage to it.
