I'm not sure what purpose the second part has other than maybe trying to brag?

It's not like you're buying Mercedes tires. For all we know, you're buying re-tread tires from a guy in an alley.

I'm also not sure of the relevance of comparing to wheels or tires on a car at all. Our current family car is probably valued at less than the Mac Pro config I would buy (when you include stuff like after market memory, PCIe M2 cards etc).

Guess what? My family car also doesn't pay the ****ing bills.

The ridiculous analogies people try to use to compare things is getting tired.

We get it: you think the Mac Pro, and by retention the accessories for it, are expensive. Build a ****ing bridge and get over it already.
I may not be buying Mercedes tires, but they're still tires for a Mercedes. I got all four with a deal from Discount Tire (America's Tire for people everywhere else in the US), for about $600.

Tires for your Mac are not going to pay the bills either.

but the standalone kit to be used after purchase is $300 more because the pre-purchase price includes the price of removing the $300 feet.
This makes no sense. So they charge $300 more because they are retroactively charging for the feet that originally came with the Pro. Apple has lost its mind.

Will purchase only if i could get it like this.......

Read it again...

When adding wheels to the Mac Pro when making an initial purchase, Apple charges $400, but the standalone kit to be used after purchase is $300 more because the pre-purchase price includes the price of removing the $300 feet.

The price of most expensive Apple things can sort of be justified (though less and less lately). This, I'm not so sure. I mean why not just make them $3000? Or $30 000? Hell, one billion? Trillion? I dunno, does it matter? Why the hell not? It's like those extremely intricate one-of-a-kind mechanical watches that cost ridiculous amounts. However, those are specifically for very rich people who want to show off. But these wheels? Is Apple now making accessories for Yacht owners to show off at golf parties? Because otherwise, no matter how well your high end production studio is doing, you still don't want to just throw money out the window if it isn't necessary.

I don't understand so many getting so frothed up about something they'd likely never need to purchase.

You know people love to get riled up. The wheels are pricy, but I don’t care. People will likely buy them still.

If you’re saying “if they were cheaper I’d buy them” well yeah there’s a ton of things I’d buy if they were cheaper....

Also, if you can afford a Mac Pro you can afford some darn wheels Lol.

I can buy a decent set of new steel wheels and tires for my car for this sort of money.

Big Apple fan here, but this is utterly ridiculous.

The irony is that Apple just announced their most affordable iPhone, and then they announce this.

Some damn wheels made in China for less than $10 sold for $700. Wow, just wow.
I’m sure they costs much more than $10 to build, but the price is outrageous anyway. Beyond ridiculous.
