The fact that Apple doesn’t prorate your existing subscriptions is lame as hell. My individual Apple News, Music, Arcade and 2TB subscriptions just renewed last week. If I switched to Apple One now, I’d be charged another $30 on top of the $35 I just spent.

This is the kind of thing Apple should have taken the time to figure out, instead of rolling the bundle out in the klunkiest possible way.

Yeah I was wondering how that works

Just wanted to share this. Going to purchase history, it shows refunds for current billing cycle of both Apple Music and iCloud storage after I signed up for Apple One Premier.

I am ready to subscribe to the Family plan, but I just paid for a month of Apple Aracade on 10/20. What happens to that subscription? Am I prorated since I have almost a month left?

I called Apple Support and they said my pending Apple Music charge (which hit my credit card today) should come off and if it doesn’t within the next 1-2 days then I should call back. They also said if you upload music to the cloud that is not available in iTunes then you need iTunes Match (which is not included in Apple One).

That's a very un-Apple like response.

so many intricate scenarios. i'm going to sign up at some point but will wait a bit to hear the fall out of others who have signed up... 🍿
Exactly it's ridiculous they haven't made FAQs by now for the common questions I've seen asked over and over

Too many uncertainties.

I have Apple TV+ free until February and I’m not sure if that gets discounted. I just paid for my storage and Music subscriptions And a I’m not sure if those get prorated. I also don’t like that this service stacks on top of any existing iCloud storage subscription and required extra steps to get it the way you want it without One doing it automatically.
Definitely no discount due to your free tv+. And my storage didn’t stack. I didn’t have to do anything to keep my current 2TB plan.
Update:

i got full refunds for my Apple Music and news+ subscriptions. They show up in your purchase history. So looks like they go beyond prorating.

I was charged for both my Music and iCloud subscriptions a few days ago. Signing up for Apple One charged me the full $20 plus tax. I’m hoping they will refund the others at a prorated level then...
I pay for the 2TB tier for iCloud on a separate Apple ID, £6.99 a month. As soon as I signed up to the Premier tier I was asked if I wanted to associate my iCloud storage on that different email/ID with my Premier subscription. I said 'yes' and immediately got a refund via PayPal for my last iCloud sub on 22 Oct!

I'm so glad we have amazing people like you on this forum to point out obvious answers to Apple's biggest questions. I'm so eager to give up the Apple Music subscription already bundled with my cell phone plan to pay for it as part of the Apple One bundle.
Exactly especially since Disney can do a credit on the bundle if you have D+ through VZW

The only uncertainty is pro rating for services that were already paid up for up to a month, and I’m guessing there won’t be pro rating.

They do refund for purchases made within the same billing cycle :)

I wish they let you do custom bundles. I don’t need Apple Arcade

But I have an Apple Music student subscription anyway, $5 for that and TV+, hard to beat that.

You say no discount but you could also see it that they’ve prorated what was paid and discounted by that amount... 😀

Apple Music through Verizon is included in my plan in perpetuity. I say included, because we all know the cost of Apple Music is included in the cost of the Verizon plan (it's not really free).

2TB - $10
Apple Arcade - $5
Apple News + - $10
Apple TV + - $5
Apple Fitness - $10
-------------------------
$40 / month

I was in a similar situation, and I just decided to switch to one of Verizon's new Unlimited plans. They no longer include Apple Music in perpetuity (only 6 months included) BUT the plans are a little cheaper so, in my case at least, it offset the difference. Your mileage may vary.

Also for those asking about Apple Music versus iTunes Match, I believe the one bonus you get with iTunes Match that is not included in Apple Music is the ability to launder your uploads through the service... in other words you can use your poor quality rips of CDs and it will allow you to download the non-DRM'd high quality versions from iTunes to keep forever.

Why though? If you are getting Apple Music for free through Verizon, then just get the other services you want from Apple separately. That would still be cheaper than getting a bundle. Once Verizon's free Apple Music promotion expires, cancel Apple Music through them and then switch to a bundle from Apple. Is there any benefit to continue getting Apple Music through Verizon after the free promotion ends? They charge $9.99, the same price as Apple does.
Because some plans give AM forever, or at least until the agreement between Apple and VZW expires

I have signed up to the Premier plan but I still have ATV+, Arcade, and Music listed on my subscriptions as well. I thought they would have disappeared ? Although it does state they will be included in AO from the end of November. Hope I am not charged for these....

if you click on "edit subscription" for anything you already have it specifically states "This subscription will be included in Apple One starting Nov 30, 2020. You will not be charged for both subscriptions."

My Apple music payment came through yesterday, do we pay in advance for these services? Or did I pay for Nov?

Looks like instead of prorating they give you a full refund for services you already paid for.

Anyone have experience signing up for One when you have an old email for the iTunes Store, and iCloud email for iCloud? And what happens to any iTunes funds if you signed up via icloud and your funds were on your old account?
