Thanks. Quite messy, but I guess I'll have to do the same. I am just terrorized of losing the data :)

Apple, in the past, won't let you downgrade if you have data in there that exceeds a tier. If it is like other cloud services, you just won't be able to add - but you can download. But I think Apple goes further and prevents downgrading if data exists. So you should be fine.

That said, I got a Time Machine backup and a Carbon Copy Cloner backup of my data. And Backblaze! :)

In the UK, it automatically refunded my 2TB iCloud Drive plan and I show 2TB in my iCloud settings now on Apple One.
Interesting. Are you on a non-beta of iOS 14? I’m on 14.2 beta, where it didn’t auto-cancel iCloud. Or maybe I missed something during the sign-up process.

Was already paying nearly $20 for the Family Apple Music plan and 200GB of storage. Might as well throw in Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade for a couple bucks. Will do a trial of Fitness+ when it launches to see if that and Apple News+ are worth the extra ten.

Apple is offering Arcade for 3 months free now, and Apple TV is going to be free if you buy a new apple device, which is a wash. So in the end I pay 10 bucks for 2tb of storage and 10 bucks for music, so now i have to pay 30 for the same and get Fitness, which isnt here yet and apple news plus, which is not that great in my opinion

I love Apple and everything but this seems like a ploy to get people in the ecosystem without offering anything beneficial

If anything they should offer more storage for less money, as storage is key for most of us. They are already charging more for iCloud storage than most competition.
In the same sort of boat. I bought a new Apple watch 6. It’s meant to come with 3 months free Apple fitness.
wife just bought a new iPhone and that comes with 12 months free Apple TV. I’m currently on a free subscription to that anyway due to my phone last year

i don’t use Apple Music coz I prefer Spotify. But if a bundle exists with fitness, I’d change to AM

at the moment tho, with my ”free enticements” I will hold off subscribing

Except with Apple Music you have to deal with DRM. That's the defining difference between the two and why folks like me keep both subscriptions running.
Is that a regional thing? Apple Music allows users to store tracks in iCloud Music Library DRM-free.

So they're really gonna bill $30 for premier when fitness+ doesn't exist yet?
I just signed up to the premier plan using my media purchases ID, separate from my iCloud ID (for iCloud storage).

I was asked when signing up if I wanted to associate that ID (for iCloud storage) with the media ID I use for purchases and I said 'yes' so that now shows my media/Apple One sub under my Apple media ID and my iCloud ID is now also associated with the Apple One subscription under my media purchases Apple ID.

Do you follow?

I got a free 1-month trial of Apple One, to 30 Nov, so in answer to this point, I imagine that Fitness+ will be launched before the 1 month Apple One trial ends.

Every time I tap it I get a blank screen. I guess people are flocking to sign up, which is great, but I would expect Apple to be able to handle a launch day surge and still give everyone a smooth experience.

All I saw with premium Apple one purchase is existing ones like atv, music, news, vanishing from list. No refunds on news plus, storage (it’s showing 4tb) or Apple Music. These were all paid 2 days ago.

Perhaps it takes time.

With iTunes Match you can upgrade your library to higher quality, non-DRM'd versions, that you can keep even after you cancel your Apple Music subscription. I don't think you can do this with a regular Apple Music subscription.

How interesting!!! Cool! :D I will keep my eye out for this.

check Settings > your Apple
ID > Media & Purchases > Purchase History.

Should tell you what charges have been made and also refunds. Saw
my 2TB iCloud charge from 28 Oct refunded there.

I signed up for Apple One and am trying to change the iCloud storage from my iTunes account to my iCloud account. But I keep getting a message that "Apple ID Locked. Your Apple ID has been locked for security reasons. To unlock it, you must verify identity." When I tap to "unlock account" it says "Cannot reset password. This Apple ID is either not valid or not supported."

It is an iCloud account I use every day. It is not locked. I tested signing in on multiple devices.

Anyone else getting this or have a solution?
