Bye bye head phone jack!!!

Bye bye head phone jack!!!

Now Apple can make thier devices even slimmer!

But if you wore something like this you wouldn't?

Personally I think anyone wearing over the ear headphones in public looks stupid.

Oh you'd definitely look silly out in public.

To the guy wearing cans out in public ..

You look like an idiot !

Doesn't the key line: "Solo2 Wireless offers the same dynamic sound" answer your question?

As much grief as the press, audio reviews and some of us have spun about the quality of Beats sound, you'd think Apple would at least notice. And, if so, you'd think they'd attack that key shortcoming right away. If these have the "same dynamic sound," either Apple is ignoring that issue or haven't got around to addressing it yet.

For as sub-par as Beats' sound quality is when compared to other audio brands, Apple certainly brings nothing to the table that would improve the sound quality. It's not Apple bashing - it's just reality. Apple may be able to design something that looks cool with the Beats logo on it (be it wired or wireless), but they aren't an audio company. There's not a single Apple product where they have industry-leading audio that is giving audio companies a run for their money - so because of that and that alone, what reason would there be to imagine Apple would improve upon quality shortcomings of Beats?

I can buy a nice Bose headphone with that price and Bose has a better headphone design + decent sound quality.

Wireless

My favourite thing about these headphones is that they have the word "Wireless" printed on them in giant letters, because without that, how else would you know they are wireless?

I can imagine wearing these, and then reaching for the wire for unknown reasons, and not finding it, then picking up a looking glass and using it to see the side of my headphones so I can see that the word "Wireless" is printed on them. At this point I would realise that my headphones, which I bought for $300 and didn't know they were wireless, are actually wireless.

I think is funny when people says Beats are overpriced. You do realise Apple products are all overpriced as well.. Yet we still buy them.

So much research goes into their products that the price can be justified, but earphones clearly have far less to design so I can't personally justify the price.

Especially when the quality doesn't match any of Apple's other products.

haha my thoughts exactly

It's for marketing so people see they're wireless and consider buying a pair lol

Not. Buying. This.

Why?
1) Costs too much.
2) Costs too much.
3) I don't have $300 lying around.
4) I still don't have an iPad.
5) Apple Watch before headphones.
6)Costs too much.

"Reverse halo effect potential here."

Way too expensive. May bring a few rapper types and kiddies into the Apple fold but for the rest of the (potential) Apple customer base it just starts to look like Apple is bent on price gouging.

If they sold these for 200$, and 250$ with integrated mic, and they would fly off the shelves.

You do realize that "not inexpensive" and "overpriced" are not the same thing, right?

Try and get Dell to make a rMBP and see what they charge.

Apple products are expensive because Apple doesn't make cheap garbage. This is a recording.

Thats actually pretty true. I looked up HP's closest competitor to the 15" rMBP. The rMBP is $500 more but comes with 2 GB of video ram in the dedicated GPU, the screen is 2880x1800 and is quad core. The HP has only 1 GB of video ram in the dedicated GPU, a 1080p screen and is dual core. Everything else spec wise is basically the same. I didn't do Dell because their website wasn't working right.

Spot on. Amazed an overpriced product could become more overpriced..... enter the Apple Tax! :p

I was not sure how much these cost in the US, the non wireless model is $100 less.

The problem here is that you would normally expect these headphones to sold at a discount at some other retailers - being Apple expect to pay 300 everywhere you go now.

I think it's ironic seeing a bunch of Apple fans calling Beats overpriced.

It's the same thing Windows and Android users claim about us buying iPhones, iPads, macs relative to what they do compared to the cheaper alternatives.

Beats fits right in with Apple's profit margin goals on the products they sell. Looks like it was a perfect acquisition and that $3 billion will quickly pay for itself plus more.

I've tried so many headphones and i love Beats, especially for gaming, best mic i've tried on Mac. Just 1 plug and mic have 0 feedback and works perfectly.

I have B&W P7's, Studio Wireless and B&W C5's. They all sound great. My favorite all around is the P7's. The Studio's just need slightly thicker ear pads and they'd be right there. I need to figure out a way to add some cushion. The new Beats are not the old Beats. They have come a long way.

Disappointing that Apple is endorsing these junk products by iterating on the current models. It makes them hypocrites when they talk about product quality and then release these.

If they want to use the Beats brand, fine, but they should cease production of all current models and start from scratch, designing headphones that actually live up to Apple standards.
