The app starts in seconds. The I 'Please Wait...' and wait and wait.
Just tried mine again this morning and it was even faster. It took a mere 3 seconds to launch and was nigh on instantaneous in showing me my latest transactions.
Obviously there is something not right if others are having issues.
What about other Apps, do they also load slowly?
I don't have any problems with any Apps loading.

This morning I used my flippin' watch to buy a can of Diet Pepsi from a bloody vending machine! It's such a shame I still can't leave the house without my wallet though, drivers license, few coins, nectar card, etc.

The NatWest app opened pretty much instantly on the watch today and both Get Cash and Transaction history loaded in under a second. They must have added another hamster to the wheel.

Still waiting for Lloyds to get their act together :-(. No sign of this email that they promised was coming. I am wondering if it was propaganda to ensure that customers dont jump ship to other banks

I've used  Pay to buy some groceries in Morrisons Supermarket and to buy lunch in K.F.C.

Although for some reason I had to remove my  leather case off my iPhone 6 Plus for it to work in K.F.C !

Has anyone else experienced an issue with having a case on your iPhone ?

You're right, mine's really quick now. Faster than Tesco and Nationwide. Teething problems I guess.

Noticed today my local Morissons has "use Apple Pay here" labels next to their chip and pin readers. Shame my bank (TSB) isn't ready yet!

I think all stores should have the apple logo...i would feel embarrassed just asking.

I have found that you need to declare that you want to pay using contactless in most places, it doesn't "just work".

Yea, some places have to push a button. If you've got someone who's paying attention, they'll see you going for the contactless and push the button. It's just the lazy/ignorant/under-trained ones that are difficult.

Does apple pay work in bars that say contactless on the card reader?

There isn't a requirement for retailers to do anything special to accept Apple Pay, if it supports contactless tech in the UK then it'll work with your phone or watch.

but you're still at the mercy of the retailer (or pub in this case!) as to how much you can pay using with it, it's probably £20, I think it's still just Marks & Sparks that don't limit the amount.

In short: Yes, but limit of (probably) £20.

Best thing to do is just ask to pay by card, unless it's a vending machine or something, in which case sometimes you need to physically select contactless instead of card/cash

I don't think its universal, I just tried to pay for something just over £20 with Apple Pay in M&S in Canary Wharf and it failed. Had to use chip-and-PIN instead.

Matt

I am finding M&S very hit-and-miss. I think they were quite early adopters of contactless and their readers are comparatively elderly. Waitrose, in comparison, never fails.

I went to pay the other day (apple pay posters on wall) & when the assistant realised I wanted to pay by apple watch he had to make an adjustment to the reader for it to work. (I think it was a McDonalds drive thru.)

Do you always have to say 'can I pay by contactless/wireless?' or is it automatic.

thanks

Also any news on the £30.00 limit or is it pot luck?

Hi

I've used my iPhone 6 plus to pay at a number of outlets McDonalds included and they didn't need to touch the device.

In time I'm sure they'll raise the limit.

hi guys

getting my watch today and have had iphone 6 plus for a few days, never used Apple Pay before and just set up my Lloyds card on my iphone.

I have a few quick questions if anyone would be so kind to answer:

1. After adding my card to the watch, to use Apple Pay on watch you double tap the crown then place watch on top of terminal?
2. To use Apple Pay on iphone, I open up Passbook, select my card and place phone on top of terminal and press on touch ID?
3 To confirm, I can use Apple pay wherever a shop offers contactless and/or of course Apple logo ?

many thanks!
