Apple Plans to Build Three 'Big' Factories in the United States

Again, this is the problem with Trump vomiting out statements like this. We don't know what Tim Cook said to Trump.
If true, this will create jobs and bring some Apple money back to the US. Only on TrumpHate.com...oh sorry, typo there...only on MacRumors.com could this turn into a bi---fest.
Based on what went across my news feed, I can say that Reuters said that the WSJ said that Trump said that Time Cook said that Apple will build something.
I wanted something that would stand out as three distinct trees and had to act quickly to get it on the first page. Part of the reason I picked that photo was because it looked like it had some faint red bits on it. I went in and photoshopped on Apples on it real quick though to make it more apparent. Too bad I didn't use my personal cloud service like I sometimes do or I probably could have stealth edited it.You spoiled it!

If your components are built in Asian countries it's more cost & time effective to have your assembly plants nearby.
Also when Cook says China has more skilled workers, it is most likely true, we have the same issue here in the UK. Since the rise of service-based industries and the movement of manufacturing to lower cost places like China, skilled workers in manufacturing have either reskilled or retired, causing the local talent pool to decrease meaning you've got to spend more time & money training people.
If that's the case Tim doesn't have to look far, all Trump has to do is forward his attorney's contact info.
I always seem to get warnings speaking my 1st Amendment right...so, I'll leave it at this.

So you trust an overworked worker that works in a building with suicide nets over a rested worker in America?
Love reading through all of the people bashing Trump. Maybe they are to busy protesting, fighting for socialism, and figuring out what potty to use instead of reading their 401K statements.
What factories are these? You mean the ones Trump keeps telling us about? So far no major legislation has gone into affect, with the exception of the Travel Ban. Unless companies begin to get rid of automation and bring back factory workers, essentially rolling back the clock, it'll be more of a wait and see approach. I think it's too early to tell what's going to happen. People still take Trump for his word, even when he flip flops from one day to the other, throwing everyone under the bus with it.
The trees will be imported from "Gina" (China, but pronounced with a "G") but nobody to plant them...the Apple landscaping team was recently deported back to Mexico.
Read up on what's happening to the agriculture industry which mostly relies on immigrant workers. The high skilled jobs are out there, it's just that the people in this country aren't qualified for it. Step into a hospital and you'll see what I mean. But conservatives view Universities and higher education as progressive devils, so go figure.

Expect Tim or someone else at Apple to be asked about this at the next earnings call. And expect a fairly straightforward answer unlike the lies and diversions cast by Trump and his self-dealing minions.
I'm all for manufacturing jobs returning to the US. But Trump is such a blathering idiot he'll blow the deal. This is a prime example. He's obviously trying to goad Apple into something that may or may not have been discussed. At any rate, I can't imagine ANY business leader or CEO telling Trump the Blabbermouth anything of consequence. The man is a sieve. That's his only virtue.

This may be what gets Apple the tax breaks/incentives they have been wanting.
