Apple Posts iOS 5 Golden Master Seed for Developers

what am I missing?

Am I an idiot? I've tried Restore, then Restore from Backup, but every time it Restores from Backup it just puts 4.3.5 back on my iPad. I know I have the right .ipsw.

Am I missing something?

I have just realized that personal hot spot is gone as well by reading this! Thats really sucks cuz i use mine just about everyday for my classes :/

Do you have 5.0 IPSW for your device?

Do you have iTunes 10.5 Beta 9 (or 8 or 7) installed?

You have to hold down shift when you press restore so it will bring up the option to point to the iOS 5 gm ipsw you have downloaded. If you just press restore on it's own it will restore to 4.3.5 :)

Facebook group for imdzl... group of user also reporting NO HOT SPOTS... NO TETHER IN GM...WTF is this all about?

SO IT COMES BACK ON OFFICIAL RELEASE...?? NOTHING IN CHANGE LOG SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS!! SMF:mad:

Oh, okay. Cool. I was aware of needing todo that when checking for updates. It hadn't occurred to me to do the same when doing the restore. Thanks!

You're lucky I had to mess around for an hour to get the gm on. :eek:

I had a previous jailbreak app called wifi sync that does the wifi syncing that is now in ios5 and it was conflicting with the update. Glad I could help :)
 
Nobody else is having problems with Wifi Sync? It tells me that it's waiting for my MBP to become available. Also, iCloud won't let me set up an e-mail address (but maybe that's because the service isn't live yet?)

did a reset of network settings and it now shows. Guessing because I did a restore from backup and was JB using mywi 5. But I'm good now...
 
which one do i download for iPad 1 (wifi+gsm) please help thanks. by the way i have iOS 5 on my iPhone

Anyone who's not a dev try to see if you can switch your MobileMe to iCloud through iOS 5?
 
Hey.

If I install the GM will it work on an european iPhone just like on a US one? Will I be able to send and receive calls?

Next tuesday when the official one releases will I need to install it again? And what about iTunes? Will the new iTunes next week show up on OS X software update?

Friends, please tell me about the 3gs' performance on ios 5, is it equavalent to iphone 4?? I need to know urgently, thanx.

Okay I downloaded iTunes 9.5 beta 9 with itunes match.dmg and iOS 9A5220p.

Restore went fine and then after slide to unlock it asked me to select Language, Country, Wifi settings and then message came up...

This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Dev program......


What's going on? I thought ppl said GM does not need DEV program registration.

Please help!!!

I believe that is a beta copy you have there and so it required that the phones UDID be registered on a Dev account.

Dang...thanks.. Just checked the version on Macrumors screenshot and surprised how I downloaded the wrong iOS version.. Thanks. Will try again.
