So I installed TU and unchecked the option detailed in your link. The appended screen shot is what I got.

There is a # before that entry, so I should be good to go, right? But when I open iTunes(10.5 Beta 9), I still get the same error: "this device isn't eligible for the requested build"!?

What gives?

For a GM seed it's pretty buggy!
I've been having issues with disappearing App icons. Putting them into a folder makes them reappear, but as soon as is press home, another icon vanishes. Then, as tried to fix it, it created a folder with only ONE app inside. Weird.
Reboot seemed to do the trick. Still, it seems kinda green for a GM.

Save the NDA talk.
 
still waiting for confirmation regarding the baseband, but in the meantime...

was able to install itunes 10.5 Beta 9 with no issues. Attempting to install the ipad IOS5 GM, however am running into the following error:

my iPad was not jailbroken and was previously running 4.3.5. Any ideas? My normal itunes/mac passwords didn't work and the ipad itself didn't have a lockscreen password. I think it is a separate App that hasn't hit the App Store yet.

Did you encrypt your iPad backup?
 
Believe I figured it out. You have to go through the steps of setting up the ipad on the ipad itself. It will then ask you if you'd like to set up as new, restore from icloud, or restore from itunes. Once you select 'restore from itunes' it will ask you plug the ipad into itunes. After that, the ipad should begin to sync from the backup as normal.
 
Youtube now plays in the background w/ airplay yeeeeeeee

Anyone know if there is a GM for the atv2 yet? I wanna do mirroring..

Where is the location option?! Location Services are surely turned on (and working fine in every other app)
 
Music Question

Could someone tell me if their Music is in order on the iPod part of the phone and also tell me if Genius is missing for you on the phone. I can't seem to find it and my music is still jacked! Thanks y0
 
having a slight problem after following these steps, it now takes me to a screen in itunes to activate my iphone, of course this phone is paid for by my company so it can't be activated tonight. The worrisome part is when i try to activate it via wifi i get a message that says "your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." Does this mean that i totally screwed up my phone?
 
Oh great! I tried installing the gm and it stops right at the end on Itunes when it says "restoring IPhone software". What to do? :confused:
 
itunes 10.5 beta 9 for windows?

can anyone help me find itunes 10.5 beta 9 for windows? many links around to beta 9 .dmg file. i can't use that on windows. thanks....
 
I have this annoying "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" during the initial restore verification stage. Tried the tips listed in the following tutorials:

I have 4.3.5 JBed with Redsnow on my 1st gen iPad. Running iTunes 10.5 Beta 9 on my MBP Lion 10.7.1. IPSW is for iPad 1, downloaded, of course, from the web that one guy posted here and later removed by the mods.

Anyone can help?

I'd really like to see how iOS 5 looks and works.

Is anybody else having problems with Wifi Sync? It says "Sync will resume when your MacBook Pro is available" but the MBP is plugged in and ready to go. Both devices are on the same Wifi network and the iPhone is plugged into the wall and charging, but no dice.

It wouldn't allow me to create a me.com address - I'd assumed this was because iCloud wasn't actually available yet. :confused:
 
What ever happened to the ability to download apps without having the app store close on you? I thought that was supposed to be an iOS 5 feature, but I am not seeing it or any option setting for it.

anyone had this issue? any work around. this is on iOS 5 GM and yes i am not developer.

I am posting this update to hopefully help those who have experienced the same as I have:

Boot into pwned DFU mode via Redsnow, then option + restore, and you are good to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am currently restoring my iPad from a backup! :D
 
I noticed the same thing on an iPad 1 wi-fi. I would guess it's because it's not 3G and likely wouldn't be able to alert you unless you were connected to a hot spot? Or is it an iPhone only feature? All the screen captures seem to show the iPhone.

So it's late and I am tired...
When you did the upgrade did you get this screen: "iTunes will erase and restore your iPhone to iOS 5.0 and will verify the restore with Apple."

The verify with apple part made me pause for sec...you know in case I wasn't a dev ;)

Yes, I did get that message. I just went ahead. No problem.

If you are JB and have the annoying message of "this device isn't eligible for the requested build," see my post which is just two above yours.

No hot spots

... I just read all threads to make sure this wasn't a repost. Personal Hotspots is missing from GM!! It's no where in the settings... can't tether!! This is the GM build??:eek:

Can anybody else confirm they have or do not have personal hot spot for tethering?:confused:
