Yes for sure. I know apple has told me we didnt get the beta version but something tells me otherwise. Just by how many glitches there are and how slow its been on my end. I mean my phone is NEW only bought in November 2023. It was fast before ios 18 now its slow.
The beta RC is the same build as the GA.

One wonders if Apple tested the 17.6.1 -> 17.7 -> 18 update path, or if they just tested 17.6.1 -> 18.

Gotta pay attention to the dialog box when a new iOS / iPadOS is available -- too many people accidentally updating to 17.7, it sounds like.

Yep since 17.7 is big on main page and 18 just small at bottom. Very easy to happen.

Makes me even happier I returned mine due to the terrible quality control on the grainy screens. $1000+ devices being bricked left and right because Apple doesnt test anything. Every year a random device gets bricked with these updates

They should pull ios 18 from iphones like mine (iphone se 2022) because it destroyed my icloud storage. My storage increased so much for no reason even after I deleted old backups. Ive filed many complaints on the feedback app and spoke to apple theyre HIGHLY AWARE of this. I am convinced they accidentally gave us beta

I am using an SE 2020 and 2022 both since Dev. Beta 1 and now 18.1 Dev. Beta 1 and never had any problems. It's also nothing slower than on iOS 17.

This is why I am NOT installing iOS 18.0 on my iPhone 12. I'll wait until Apple posts the first bug-fix release, which they tend to do very quickly now, before attempting an iOS 18 update. Last year, I waited until iOS 17.0.1 to finally get iOS 17 on my iPhone 12.

Imagine not testing on your flagship devices 😂

I’m not that surprised by this. Luxury and flagship products don’t have high sales volumes. People who have money buy them because they can. At the same time, they’re the testers. We call them early birds in business. These people have money and are open to new technology and trying out new things, even if they don’t work. Once they have tested the waters, a stable, scaled mass product with much higher volume potential is released.

i bet they did...but i bet you didnt thought that the world is far better tester....since you sell these in millions and millions...and every single customer become the tester
Are you sure? iOS 17.7 and 18 were launched at the same time. There had to have been a lot more testing going from 17.6.1 to 18 then they were able to do from 17.7 to 18.
