I have a hard time believing that they are just going to refund CC that purchased a bumper without any verification. So, if I have 3 different CC, I can go purchase 3 bumpers and get a refund? /doubt

There's a reason you can't go and buy a bumper anymore. lol

Yes you are trolling. Changing the subject to push your own controversial agenda is trolling!! Stay on topic or stay out!!

Love my iP4. Bought 2 bumpers from Apple online. A refund for one would be fine. ;)

they are crooks get over it.... Apple boy

I don't think it is possible to buy the bumpers anymore?

What if you bought a bumper, and you don't want a refund, you want a free case?

What's the difference? Either you get a free case or you take the money Apple refunds to you....

and buy another case! I guarantee Apple isn't going to be offering anything that would retail for more than the price of the bumper.

Talked to someone on the phone today, and they said sometime by the end of this week and they'll start refunding people soon. We'll see....

and what if we didnt keep the receipt and only have the bumper and original packaging? im sure most people who bought with cash didnt think we would be needing to keep the receipt for anything later. someone is going to need to call there local apple store and see what they tell them... im at work right now so i cant volunteer.

Just a tip for life in general, keep all your receipts.

This is a very good point. The phone should work without the bumper case, and if it doesn't maybe the phone should of had a rubber bumper case built around it from the factory. Or maybe the phone should of been tested more before producing a million of them... Apple got greedy and didn't have time to make the phone right from the start, they just wanted phones on shelves and people buying them up A.S.A.P...

An Android can and more :) plus Flash is nice to have, and being able to change your own battery for way cheaper than what $70???

And only 2 times the $$$ each month on your bill for service than An Android on Sprint with Unlimited everything and 4g network :)

Greatest Buttplugging you ever got.

My 3GS works perfectly without a bumper to :)

Wow that is impressive it works as a phone to without any extra devices or cases? really? Damn Iphone 4 does sound awesome.

it's still half the price for unlimited and you get to use a better phone :) a phone that doesn't limit you and continue to try and bleed you for cash when the battery goes poo poo.

No trolling.. Just because everything isn't perfect doesn't mean people are trolling. Apple and ATT are very crooked... 10 class action lawsuits don't happen for no reason.

they are crooks get over it.... Apple boy

what a sad and sorry life you must have to spend your time on this forum trolling...Some words of advice for you, get out of your moms basement and find a better way to contribute to society. You are not enlightening anyone...

Right. :)

My point is that bumpers will be as hard to find as the phone now, but I'm certain Apple will be tracking so each phone will only account for one free bumper.

When you consider how few Bumpers apple probably actually sold, I doubt they really care who they are refunding, they will probably just refund 1 per CC# used to buy them. So if you bought 5 with 1 CC# you get 1, if you bought each one with a unique CC# you get 5 refunds.

The advantage of this is you can simply automate the process.

No worries about scams, no worries about customer error. Run a script and everyone is refunded and you are done. Plus then you don't have to add even more code to your database keeping track of which customers already had a bumper on top of the orders they are placing online.

It's not really fair, but it's substantially more efficient for apple, especially when you consider what the bumpers manufacture cost is. Honestly apple probably couldn't care less about the bumpers or their cost. They make all their money on apps, music and licensing on other peoples accessories. And then iAds and so on and so forth. 3 million 50 cent pieces of plastic really isn't hurting them.

My local AT&T store is still selling the Bumpers. Should I go purchase one with a credit card and report it to Apple?

When I asked the sales rep he said Apple is doing the returns through their website (I was too excited receiving my iPhone 4 to ask if I could purchase one then get the refund through Apple). What should I do?

Why are you people not returning these iPhone 4s? What other phone requires you to buy a "bumper" to use the damn phone without dropping calls?

Ridiculous. Stop paying caviar prices for a crippled device. You know, do something, instead of allowing yourself to get ripped off.

Someone bought a nexus...

I am not talking about people that are buying now, I am referring to those that had purchased them prior to the announcement.

I bought 3 bumpers the day after the announcement because the apple store that is near my house finally had them.

I went in, saw that they had them, asked them since they had them would they give me and my wife one for free, they said no, I bought 3 (Me, wife, father) because I was told that the refund process would be online with a verification process much like the original iphone refunds were processed.

Hmm....

I don't think so. I think people buy what the news tells them lock, stock and barrel. Either that or they bought: "iPhone4: the crap edition." Or they want to make themselves feel better about the droid they bought of which there seems to be a ridiculously large number of different editions. Talk about market dilution.

Mine iPhone4 works fine cased or not.

The other thing: my local Apple store doesn't give you a receipt: they EMAIL it to you so you don't lose it 10 minutes after you leave the stores.

Any others?

Anybdy just wanna pay for the bumper and get another case for free? I think thats what im gonna do...

Right. :)

Of course you're certain. Anyone who isn't certain about this needs to be evaluated by a psychiatrist.

The way they're going to do it is you're going to have to enter your serial number on Apple's website.

Geez, didn't anyone pay attention to the press conference?

You will have a choice - free bumper, bumper refund, or free select case.

It doesn't matter whether you bought a bumper already, all that matters is whether you have the phone.

My Visa debit card that I purchased the bumper with now shows no sign of the purchase. My account has indeed increased $35.31 (1 bumper + tax).

Strange though, :apple: has a $1.00 iTunes pending transaction presently. I only make iTunes purchases through gift cards and have not made any $1.00 purchases recently.

Seems as though it is completely automated. :)

Just got off the phone with Apple to ask if I could get Bumper purchase refunded and he informed me that Apple has begun crediting back credit cards today and will be doing them in batches throughout the week.

Just got off the phone with Apple and they said that those that purchased with debit cards should see a refund in 6-8 days...credit card refunds will be by the NEXT credit card cycle... refunds will be AUTOMATIC. Also, those interested in the "free" case, there is no estimated date on when that will go live but she said that information will be made available on Apple's site when it goes live.

What if you paid cash
