I’m surprised no one has mentioned that 2020 is the 10 year anniversary of the iPad... they are going to want to launch something big for it surely like they did with the iPhone X.

I can see a iPad Pro X being released possibly... or maybe just an iPad X (which will fall somewhere between the iPad Air and the iPad Pro).

Twice as many Watch filings. Perhaps they will release an “SE” model to replace the Series 3 as the less expensive model.

One can imagine this going two ways.
Either a 6SE that's cheaper than giving people the 4 as the low-end option. But it's hard to see how you would create a meaningfully cheap 6SE that's not mainly just a 4? Presumably you'd leave out the always-on screen, at which point the main difference is do you get the small core from the A12 or the small core from the A14. Customers won't care either way, and it's easier to just continue with the 4, surely?

The other way to add models is to go high end. Introduce an Apple Watch Pro. Get the people who wouldn't pay an extra $300 just for "jewelry" modifications, but who will pay extra for tech modifications.
What might those be?
- larger screen? As a square that might be tough. Two squares side by side I think works in terms of the ergonomics. Is the world ready yet for such a weird looking watch? I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Would enough other people?

- more storage or higher DPI? Does anyone really want those enough to pay?

- more sensors? That's interesting and I think we just don't know what's yet feasible (but perhaps expensive). If they can get optical glucose monitoring in the strap of base of the watch, MANY people would pay $300 extra for that. Temperature sensing? UV sensing? Pulse oximeter? Maybe call it the Apple Watch Health edition, not the Pro?
Hmm. I like this idea a lot. Fits in with their pushing Apple = Health. Maybe the way they'll sell it is something like "we want everyone to have these sensors one day. Right now we have to charge a lot for them, but every purchase today helps bring down the price tomorrow". (ie you don't have to feel guilty for buying it; you are making a donation to the future health of humanity!)

And people are still waiting for shipment on the new iPad Pro. I’d be surprised if they drop another pro that soon. Maybe its airs and minis.
Would Apple really release an updated iPad Pro model 5-6 months after the recent one, and not even 2 weeks after I bought it? Boo.

So hyped for this upgrade cycle. I’m coming from a series 0. My wife finally wants one and so I’m going to upgrade and she’s getting her first. Exciting times.

Literally serious question everyone: is “literally told“ a literally brave, powerful way of saying “told”?
I literally want to know.

I think I can help you: It's a common construct known as a hyperbolic intensifier where a word is used not in its original meaning but to strengthen the meaning of the message. Here it simply adds emphasis to the action. There may be more eloquent or expressive ways but it works quite well and most English speakers are familiar with the current trends, even if the language changes over time and other forms take over.

Adapting the adverb to use as an intensifier is no odder than using really, definitely or truly in the same way. These colloquial forms have been in use for centuries and their meaning is usually obvious.

Will this Watch be based on a new design or is just an updated Series 4/5?

I bought the cheapest 5 in anticipation of the 6 being a significant upgrade since the 5 was virtually identical to the 4 except for the AOD.
How dare you even suggest that! It takes real COURAGE to release a virtually identical product for the third year in a row whilst continuously increasing the price.
The AW6 will launch with a couple of new band colours. It’s going to be REVOLUTIONARY!

I wish there were enough demand for a mini Pro, that’s an instabuy. But I think we’re a relatively small group. I don’t even think Apple will release a mini 6 for another year or two, though I could very well be wrong.
I guess the Pro is intended more for content creation as opposed to consumption. The size of the mini is not really conducive to creation. Perhaps a mini with pro-like bezels?

I'm excited to see what's in store either way. I don't care waiting for a Mini-LED Pro as the 2018 Pro design, power, and capabilities were my dream iPad (I had wanted since the first iPad was even released.) 😂😂😂
*And let's face it, the A12X and A12Z both STILL are faster and more robust than 90+% of portable devices or computers and still smoke the A13. 😉

Eh. I mean I see where you‘re coming from but I knew there would always be another better, newer iPad coming. I replaced my old 10.5” and to me it was a pretty massive upgrade. The 2020 iPad may get crapped on around here but it’s a great machine. No one should feel bad for buying one unless they upgraded from a 2018 model.

Very true indeed. I was withholding from buying the 2018 iPad Pro for months before finally jumping on the current 2020 iPad Pro as I needed the iPad for work. It's kind of expected I guess? Given the expected update of the iPhone lineup is right around the corner and the iPad Pro is bound to be equipped with 5G in the next update (sooner or later). Therefore for what I use my iPad for, I agree I'm not concerned with "another revamp" in such a short period of time given the reason and purpose of my iPad itself.

Why do people still think another iPad Pro is coming out this year? It makes no sense at all from a marketing standpoint.

I actually find it even more baffling to find people actually believing JP's timeline prediction like it's 200% real tbh. The iPad Pro prediction just doesn't make much sense, thus there are other iPads that are long overdue for their deserved update/upgrade.

I mean come on...... We as customers/Apple fans are tamed to know and expect they release/reveal the new iPhone in September every single year - and this particular expectation is very very hard for a company to cultivate and plant into their customers' mind. It doesn't make sense for Apple to delay their release of the phone just to cope with the expected launch delay this year, ESPECIALLY when they didn't do the same for their iPhone X launch which also suffered from components issues........

One thing i always wonder is why apple watches never leak as much as iPhones do? I've seen the new iPhone "look" about 6 months ago, why do we never see any apple watch leaks like that?

Do they have tighter security on apple watch manufacturing? or the iPhone leaks are purposely leaked to generate talk.

"AXXXX" are not model identifiers, they're model numbers. A model identifier would be something like "iPadX,X".

New ones usually look the same as the old ones.

The one time it changed (when the sizes increased by a couple mm and the bezels shrank), they did leak ahead of time.

The point made about the 10 year anniversary is a good one, but I believe they will offer a brand new entry level iPad to celebrate. I would not be surprised if it adopted the more square design of the Pro, which is more reminiscent of the original. It would be probed at still at $329, but have an A12, the under screen TouchID and a 10.8 inch display. The Air and Mini (but with an 8.5 inch display) will be similar in design, but a 12X, with more bells and whistles and perhaps FaceID. All will be Apple Pencil 2 compatible.

An iPad mini with the iPP form factor would be awesome.

Glad I kept my Pro pristine, but it might not be another pro. It could be a refresh for the mini ,air, or "iPad", e.g. Air: A12 => A13/A14, Mini A12 => A13/A14, iPad A10 => A12.

Apple may have their hands busy with chip designs for the A14 and their new Macs. So I wouldn't be surprised if the A14X came at a later date.

If Apple release an IPad Mini Pro I’d be over it like a rash.

I’m forever travelling to work and this includes arriving onto a Rig by helicopter, having a mini reduces the weight and is more compact for the plane/flight.

As mentioned before, they have released Pro’s so fingers crossed this is now Pro Minis

Its interesting how many people are saying this. Hopefully we are not a minority......

The new surface duo, looks good to me and is a nice size. Not that I want folding screens but a pocketable / easily transported mini pro would easily stop me looking at this device more.
Not holding my breath though :)

It would make sense (in my head) in regards to the new iPhone shape, being much like the iPad Pro’s

would be fantastic to see the mini as a pro shape and with upgraded spec.

oh pleeeeeeease let this come true!

Might finally buy a watch this year. Been thinking about since version 1 lol

I don’t wear mine daily (prefer a real watch) but it’s the best solution for working out and makes a great bedside clock (when charging all it takes is to tap the furninture it’s on in order to see the time).
