Has anyone with a 2.33 15" with a 160gb hd had theirs ship yet? I called this morning to try and see if I could convince them to hurry my order up for a school project, but was told it would most likely ship within the first 24 hours. I don't think the Apple guy knew what he was talking about. He did sound busy and it got me off the phone fast. He must have accomplished his mission.

I ordered at 8:01pm 10/24

Est. ship date 10/31
Est. delivery date 11/3

I also paid for the two day shipping.

Me too. I regret paying extra for that 2-3day shipping. I have the same specs with glossy screen and also the same ship and arrival dates.

Paying Apple For Faster Shipping Is A Waste Of Money

Bulletin. Apple ships just as fast to those who ask for FREE shipping as to those who pay for "fake faster" shipping. It's a total waste of money to pay Apple for "faster" shipping. My experience tells me they do not in fact ship them faster to those who pay than to those who do not pay for shipping.

Since it hasn't shipped yet call Apple up and try to change your shipping method.

I placed my order for a stock 2.16 (would I really notice .17ghz?) at 7:50am yesterday, not scheduled to ship out until the 30th, with 2 day delivery estimated at Nov 2nd.

I did however, just today get my 30" ACD.. unboxing pics? Sure!

:D :D :D :D :D SOooo Big!

WOAAAAA!! In those pics you're powering a 30" Monitor with a MACBOOK?! is that right, I want one but i was under the impression that a macbook can't power a 30 inch display. Will someone please confirm this.

I placed my order Oct 24, 2006 at 07:17 AM PDT. I ordered what you ordered with the matte screen. I have the same shipping preference as you and mine is set for the same shipping & delivery as yours.

A 7300/7400 MacBook would be so sweet, even if it was BTO.

Mark my word: the MB will max out at 7200. Apple will not make the same mistake twice (i.e., will not sell MB and MBP at the same clock speed which no doubt would steer a lot of potential MBP buyers to MB).

I just called Apple to talk to them about it. The guy I talked to said he really didn't know if I would actually get it sooner, so he removed the charge but let me on the two day shipping. Great service on Apple's part.

I need your guys help... I have been lurking trying to soak up all the info I can.

I am looking to buy my first Mac, BUT I am really on the fence if I should by the C2D Macbook Pro, or wait until Crestine and OS X 10.5 come out. The problem is I'm graduating in May so my education discount will probably be gone too, which is also the rumored time of the new update.

If I buy a laptop it will have to last me at least 3 years. I can't afford to upgrade at every update. I was wondering if when OS X 10.5 comes out will the C2D be able to take advantage of 64-Bit or will Crestine have to come out to take real advantage of it? Which will last longer in the long run the new C2D Macbook Pro or one with Crestine? What are the advantages of waiting besides being able to install 4GB of RAM?

The other option I was thinking about is buying a Macbook when it gets updated next and just waiting for a better option around May. But I need to run applications like Photoshop, Audition, Premiere, and After Effects. Can a regular Macbook handle these or is it not worth my time? I also will be installing Vista, so do you think I really need a dedicated GPU?

Sorry I know that's a lot of questions, but I am really in need of your guys opinions on what is the best option. Like I said I need this to last me a few years, and I am really on the fence on what to do. Thanks in advance.

Unless you're majoring in English or Phys ED, you will most lileky earn thh equivalent of what you will save with your HE discount in a day or two after starting your new job. So the answer is clear: buy now! The enjoyment you will get out of your new machine between now and June will be well worth the $200-300 you might save by buying in May.

Mine shipped today and the delivery date is the 27th. My unit is actually a replacement for my pb g4 from applecare. They placed the order on Friday, and it didn't ship until today. I am pretty certain it will be the new model and not the old one...I hope. Nobody seems to know the answer when I call to ask.

sorry to keep pressing but i'm not seeing one, plus i checked his sig, doesn't own a desktop, i think its the macbook

Macbook can drive a 1920x1200 monitor. The 30" runs at 2560x1600. The 23" however runs at 1920x1200. So that is either a 23" or it's a 30" connected to a system not visible in the photo.

- Cheers

Edit: Judging by the keyboard, that's a 23".

Amazon Rebate

Does anyone know how long it usually takes Amazon to receive shipments after they're announced....and more importantly, how long it takes them before they offer rebates?

I remember the c2d iMac had a rebate fairly soon after it was announced...maybe a week?
