Just as an aside, what is everyone doing as far as receiving the Fedex package? Signing for it at work? As a student in school M-F, I've resigned myself to driving to the Fedex centre after an attempted delivery.

YES!!! Finally shipped.

If you've had FedEx deliveries in the past, you can usually tell at about what time they are going to stop by within a couple of hours. In this case I just make sure I can be home, whatever it takes. In college I would miss some classes but now I am working I can just stay home all day, only because I am lucky enough to have the type of job that lets me decide my own hours and where I work. If I couldn't be here, I would rope someone into being here...

In case you were wondering, I run marketing/graphic design for the US's best pizza company.

Please humor me..I'm bored and tired of clicking refresh on my order status:

When did you guys place your orders? :) And..congrats!
Originally: "Order Date: Oct 24, 2006 at 12:37 PM PST"

However, I called Oct 27, 2006 at 9:50 AM PST and cancelled my MacBook Pro from the order. I had originally chosed to have iWork '06 preinstalled, and I realized that it would be wise to wait for iWork '07 instead. They added a new MacBook Pro to the order. I'm not sure if that ended up delaying it or not, but either way, it's ahead of the original shipping estimate of the 31st.

Yeah add me to the list. I ordered MBP 2.33 / 160gb/ 2gb ram the morning it was announced.

I just received notification that it has been shipped via fedex. It is packaged at factory and is preshipment awaiting pickup by Fedex.

Lets say shipping Monday, hoping that i get it by weds. probably latest by thurs.

Thanks Deputy and er..Bill Gates. I placed mine Oct 27 9.47 pm PST, so I guess I have a ways to go before it ships.

Ordered Thursday AM. I originally ordered Tuesday afternoon as soon as I could sit at computer. A mixup I made required me to cancel and re-order for the maximum discount. 15" matte 2.16 w/160GB drive.

Order Date: Oct 26, 2006 at 10:47 AM PST

What's the shipping estimate, and what type of system did you order? BTO? Glossy? 15"? etc.

Order placed: Oct 27 9.47 pm PST

Stock 15" 2.16 w/glossy. Shipping estimate still says Nov 2, with est. delivery on Nov 9. So far nothing has changed on my order, can still be cancelled even. I guess I have to be reasonable...I just ordered this three days ago!

The fact that it's glossy may make it take longer than it would otherwise. The shipping estimates are usually very conservative anyway.

Yeah I figured. I initially thought that a stock glossy 15" would not take too long, as they may already have units pre-assembled (like the Rev A MBPs). However the "delay" makes me think that they have to assemble glossy BTOs from scratch.

Mine is glossy, if that helps determine the time at all (which wasn't long). :D
F@##!! Now I'm too excited to sleep... and the computer won't even be here until maybe Wednesday. :p

BWT: Heh - can you see Dell folks doing this?

I'm there with you guys too... Mine left origin Shanghai at 1:39 10/30 as well.. :D

And while Dell people don't do this. I've been through this whole exact scenario before with an HP ZD7000 notebook. Produced by Quanta in China just like the MBP and shipped FedEx IP Direct. Our notebooks will travel to Anchorage, then from there will go to one of the two primary distribution hubs, one is Memphis, TN. I don't recall where the other is. From there, it just gets treated like any ordinary FedEx Next-Day package and will migrate to your local cities. Plane should be arriving in Anchorage around midnight AK time. Then however long it takes to get scanned and sorted by FedEx and loaded onto another plane. I'm expecting my system to be in Memphis by tomorrow afternoon to late evening with delivery to me just west of Denver, CO possibly tuesday, but most likely on wednesday.

wOOt! Add me to the list! Ordered late on Tuesday night, 10/24, was scheduled to ship 10/31, and I just got the e-mail that it's shipped, scheduled to arrive Thursday, 11/2! I called 3 days later (Fri.) to change shipping to "2 day," (was scheduled to ship 10/31 and arrive 11/7), which they did, at no extra charge, and it'll now come 5 days early! ;)

2.33GHz 15.4" Glossy, 160GB HD! :D

DAMN, it's going to be hard to wait that long!!!
