Update: Can now and yes there is an intsy bitsy whine on the left part of the keyboard when AC is plugged in BUT you have to REALLY REALLY REALLY look for it to hear it. On that note i'll say NO there is no whine with AC or battery because the one i found is virtually impossible to hear......AND i am very critical

Does anyone know if Fedx can provide more information on the package than what's on the tracking site?
My opinion on this was stated earlier in thread (a couple of pages back), as well as other people. It seems that this subject starts to dominate the thread as most people feel strongly about their choices. In the end it seems that plenty of people enjoy one or the other so it comes down to preference. And as someone else pointed out it is nice that Apple offers the choice as it eliminates the potential pro-PC criticism that Apple only has this or that type of screen.
An earlier posted suggested to keep the thread on subject and post about the ordering and delivery of the new machines. My above post was going back to that idea and suggesting that before it takes over, the people interested in discussing the pros and cons of each screen type move it over to the other acitve threads.
Maybe read up over there and visit a store, too, if at all possible (I would think that is the best way to tell for oneself). Then when you order make sure and let us know about your new MBP here.
You cant go off what people say, once again, go to the store and try them out your self, its really the only way
well i'm at school, and i've been comparing people's MBP's (there are actually guys upstairs who are roommates, one has a matte and one has glossy). i agree that yes, the color saturation and contrast make the image a bit better on the glossy screen, but the possibility of eye strain turned me off of the glossy. plus, matte's image is always nice, and i know that it wont hurt my eyes after looking at it for hours.
regardless, its coming in, but not soon enough!

Matte, glossy, bleh. Both are equally inferior to wiring the display output directly into your optic nerves.
Small downside: color calibration is a teensy bit more difficult to accomplish.

Argh. If FedEx is right, mine's been sitting at the Fedex Depot in Shanghai for 1.5 days now...
Update (of sorts): At least mine is now showing an estimated Delivery date - Nov 1 at noon. Up until now it hadn't provided a date at all. But first it'll have to leave Shanghai...
I called Fedex about my package that shipped on Oct 28th. There is some delay in flights in Shanghai. I am really pissed now. Expected delivery date is Nov 1 by 10:30 am and that is if it doesnt get delayed in customs. Somebody kill me now.
