Thanks guys!

Here in Spain, this Wednesday (10/01) is a local festivity so no one works, the same in the rest of Europe or not?

When you say you expect them to arrive on wednesday you mean at your home or at your local TNT and then 1 more day until it gets to your home?

My ETA at Apple website is 10/06, at first it was 10/02 but then it changed to 06

I cant wait no more for my MBP, It is my first one, I am a switcher!

I called TNT UK and they told me to expect it on wednesday. They said they'll receive it and directly deliver it to my (buyer's) address. How cool is that? :D

No we are working the whole week this week. No festival.

Excerpt from pg. 71 of the user manual:

"Wireless Radio Use:

This device is restricted to indoor use due to its operation in the 5.15 to 5.25 GHz frequency range to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co-channel Mobile Satellite systems."

Bummer. I wanted to use mine on the porch outside, but I guess the FCC police will pwnz0r me if I try that. Oh noes!

:D

Can't understand this: airport is officially a 802.11g adapter and then it works at 2.4 GHz. So, why they mention 5 GHz? Is this another proof of the fact it's really a 802.11n adapter?

Ok new update about that flight delay in Shanghai. My package which shipped on Oct 28th and then got delayed last nite due to flight issues, has now reached Anchorage, AK as of 12:49 pm local time. So I guess now the flights have started moving. The delivery estimate is still Nov 1st before 10:30 am.

I was just about to post this...mine is still Nov 2...does this mean that it could be coming tomorrow for a lot of people?

802.11a uses the 5GHz band:)

so.. 2 day delivery = 10 day delivery?

I think the "5 day" shipping was to be delivered by 11/13. I'm guessing they included weekends on both sides. After they changes the ship method to 2-day, the estimated delivery date didn't change. I'm hoping once it actually ships, they will update this to reflect the correct date.

I'm wondering if the the 2-3 day shipping really makes a difference. If they're shipping via ground it would. Since everything is coming from China, I would think it's going to be shipped via air either way.

any other westside people awaiting the memphis shipping? ;)

the antecipation is brutal.. my first apple in 18 years :)

Looks like we've found another batch of people in the same boat so to speak. I have exactly the same data, also shipping to Canada (Calgary). Supposed to be at my house by noon tomorrow, but the last time i got an update was the same time as you guys...3 days ago. I think this is the 3rd distinct support group after the 1something am flight from china, and the TNT group.

My last update was also on the 28th, but my machine had made it to Mississauga by then. So close, and yet...so far. :(

Mine's supposed to arrive by 6pm tomorrow, so I guess they're spot-on with that estimate.

exactly the same info as me, except I'm est. Nov. 2 at 10:30am. What I'm hoping is that since its at anchorage at 12:30 local time, it'll get it's ass on a flight to my distribution center today, arrived to me, Eastern Time (anchorage +4) around the midnight hours, and hopefully get to me late tommorrow. Maybe its the koolaid speaking, but I'm hoping for late wednesday, in which case I will play with that sucker and maybe go to class on thursday. :D

yay FLIGHT 139'ers!

Mine arrived in Anchorage at 12:49PM as well... So mine's right along with yours... I still have an estimated delivery date of 11/2 (FedEx changed it earlier from 11/1 to 11/2, not sure why. Either way, as long as I get it this week I'll be happy.

kstotlani, AppliedVisual - same exact update here so far:

Oct 30, 2006 12:49 PM
Arrived at FedEx location
ANCHORAGE

So the idea is here to TN then off seperately, no?

Woman at FedEx today wasn't very helpful, I asked as to delay and she denied any delay... they're sticking to 11/2 date on their behalf...

I know FedEx can get this here on Wednesday - but won't. My guess is that they do, at least in some cases, look at type of service the delivery is under (overnight, two day, etc.). I was hoping to get in some sort of discussion w/agent that they pushed the date later one day so therefore I could get package expedited now that it here in US and under their control. Three days from AK to CA isn't their top speed. But since I skipped the "quicker" Apple shipping (that is usually the exact same speed) it was pretty hard to argue - she seemed to have shipping info in front of her (could tell the shipping I requested - I didn't volunteer that info. in case she didn't have).

In the past I've had some items both from UPS and FedEx on "saver" rates ship from inside Los Angeles to another location inside Los Angeles. The UPS came overnight and the FedEx came three days later, I'm sure internally delayed due to service type.

Anyway, I'm glad your date hasn't changed. I'm ok with Thursday as my whole thing is that I'm just cranked up - I have a good machine here I'm working with so I can certainly wait a little more.

Note that there's a timezone difference... Not sure how FedEx tracking works with timezones...

-yoshe200

Oh, believe me, the time zones were considered there! It departed Shanghai 1:39am Oct 30 Shanghai, then arrived Anchorage at 12:49pm on Oct 30 - remember there's a trip across the international date line in there. That's 27 hours transit time.

Something is goofy.

Oo. It just occurred to me, we flight 139'ers had our package depart during the missing hour! Missing because of the 'fall-back' to Standard Time! Our stuff was in a time warp!

How long does Clearance take?

International Shipment release in Mississauga

Mine's been in the state of "Clearance in progress" for the last 14 hours in Mississauga.
How long did yours take to be "released"?

The crazy thing is that the Fedex depot at the airport is less than 15 km away from me. It's so close but so far.... :(
