do you really think tomorrow is possible? why would fedex show 2 days later then?

Well, tomorrow is only one day before FedEx's estimate of Nov 1st (even tho Apple's estimate was Nov 2nd), and I always get my FedEx one day early. As soon as I get a tracking number, I look at the estimated date and make plans to be home the day before... never fails. (knock on wood)

usually the package has to be delivered to your local fedex facility by 6am for it to be loaded into the fedex vehicle for delivery... I wonder if it'll make it in time... I really hope so!!!

Well on a passenger plane it is a 4.5 hour flight to the FedEx center in Portland, so it has a chance!! Heck it could be there now!

UPDATE FOR FLIGHT139'ers

UPDATED JUST NOW!

Oct 30, 2006 1:55 PM

Departed FedEx location

ANCHORAGE, AK

Whoo Hoo! On it's way down! I really think tomorrow is the day! :D

Edit: Actually, if it left at 2pm it's already had several hours in flight :) SO CLOSE !

comfirmed, same for me

hopefully it'll arrive on the east coast by 2amish my time, which means it should hopefully be here on wednesday the 1st!!!!

this is also definetely where our flight breaks apart right? cause now its local!

live on flight 139! :p

I've told some of my friends about flight 139, they shake their heads.....:D

they need some koolaid for sure

I just now received an email with shipping notification on 2 accessories I ordered today after 5pm as well. I ordered 2 laptop cases, a mighty mouse, and keyboard (both wireless).

Original status dates were estimated shipping on the 31st with delivery on Nov 7

One bag and the Keyboard haven't changed, but I have a tracking # already for the other 2 items, scheduled for FedEx delivery Nov 2nd. This time I went for the standard shipping option since apparently its all the same..

Agreed! Hey how do you know the flight number? Or are we just guessing?

Same question here, mine says it got to AK at 12:39 like many other peoples. However, flight 139 left from Vancouver BC. So are we sure flight 139 is actually our flight, there are other flights (i beleive 83 and 92, which left from AK to TN which are enroute) So how do we know?

Neat site I just found

Just found

http://www.simpletracking.com/

Which generates an RSS feed of our tracking numbers. Can be used with most major carriers... fun times!

They have a Firefox Extension too...

In related news, this guy wants to "Web 2.0" package tracking. I did get a laugh out of some of the images though...

I think ppl are getting confused by flight 139... 139 is the time it left shanghai, China... 1:39am that's why it's flight 139... now that it arrived and left Anchorage, we should all be on different flights now. farewell 139 mates

If mine is coming to pittsburgh pa, where would it fly into? The pitt airport? or memphis, where i heard it wil lthen be broken up to be sent off to their new owners?

Oh ok, I was confused because my tracking doesn't say it ever left SHANGHAI CN, it just magically appears in AK :)

yoshe200, I'm not any kind of FedEx expert but I was under the impression that for US packages they went AK ---> TN and then were sorted out to different directions. Do they sort in AK to different US cities? Aren't a lot of people showing the same "departed 1:55 PM"? I was thinking the group got to hang for another flight before splitting up.

Well, while i would imagine TN is a big hub, packages going to the west coast must fly into somewhere else, right? also for middle states like colorado, another sorting facility right?

I actually did not know that :) I guess our MBPs are still together then. Good to know.

some Googling:

The same activity takes place on a smaller scale at other national, international, and regional hubs. FedEx has operations in Anchorage, Alaska; Chicago; Fort Worth, Texas; Indianapolis; Los Angeles; Newark, N.J.; Oakland, Calif.; Years ago, all packages were cleared through the Memphis hub, but now with global hubs in place, FedEx can use its planning capabilities to better serve those areas...

Also, Wikipedia:

The company operates much of its U.S. overnight freight through its Memphis hub. Other U.S. hubs are located in Indianapolis, Newark, Oakland, Anchorage and Alliance, Texas. The Canadian hub operates from Toronto's Toronto Pearson International Airport.

I have no idea. :)

I guess we'll all see with the next update. If we all show Memphis then there you go.

Where's the Mac fanatic who works for FedEx? I know, they're playing with their new MBP C2D because their's arrived last week. :)

I just don't understand why the fedex tracking pages update after 9hours... it's not very useful when your page says delivered 9hours after you've opened your macbook pro.....

Mine left AK at 1:55 as well... No reason I shouldn't have it wednesday, tomorrow is pushing it to go from Alaska to one of the main hubs (TN, IN - I think) and then to Denver in time to get on a delivery truck. If it does slip to 11/2 like the FedEx estimate, then that's just FedEx being lazy. :D
