Apple Releases Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro

delivered as of 12 min ago! :D too bad I live in college and must wait a couple hours for the delivery building to send me an email saying I can go get it.....:rolleyes:

It seems that here in Europe we will have to wait a few more days, my MBP is stuck at Arnhem... and seems not to move from there today...
 
I'm in Michigan. My original ETA was Nov. 2, But Fedex track shows that my MBP is on the fedex truck out for delivery in my city.. So I think I'm getting mine today, 2 days early.... woot
 
Originally my delivery date was Nov. 8th (day after Guitar Hero II!)

Then it was updated to Nov. 2nd

Now this is all I see on fedex:

10/31/2006 9:56:00 PM SHANGHAI, CN Left FedEx Ramp

Their time is obviously ahead of mine (Oklahoma, USA). I want it now!
Anyone elses still say Shanghai?

Less than 10 min ago (10/30 instead of the 11/2 schedule). My very first Mac after 30 years as a windows user. Typing this from the mbp. Feel I'm almost in heaven

Did you take advantage of the $100 printer rebate too? Luckily I have a 15" MBP and a white MB to hold me over until the 17" arrives. Now I need to find a new bag for the 17" and some external storage--something in SATA flavor perhaps.

ive got ups (uk) delivering mine apparently, though doesn't appear to track properly for some reason...

ive looked it up on the apecode site and it says 'shipment on hold due to cargo exceeding daily space allocation'...this sucks! i ordered on the day it was released and have to wait until november 8/9th now :/

i wonder what the big hold up is...
 
Well my estimated ship by date for my 17" w/3gb is Nov 6th and the delivery date is Nov 13th. I have 2-day shipping on the puppy so I'm thinking it will probably get here (Charlotte, NC) between Nov 8th and 10th. Here's to hoping!

It's not in Shanghai anymore. It got scanned in at (and since left) the EDC (European Distribution Center), why it says "Apple Shanghai" as the 'Shipping Point' for 'booking slot obtained' I don't know but I've seen it appear on other peoples tracking data.

Thanks for that, it is slightly confusing on the website, is the EDC in Arnham or wherever everyone elses in Europe is shipping from?

I didn't bother with the printer, since I already have two laser printers and a photo inkjet. I'm in the same boat, as I have to start looking for a new bag or briefcase for the MPB.

The wait is killing me. This is both my first Mac and my first notebook.

I never saw an offer for $100 off a printer. I could have really used that. :confused:

I just checked my shipment status page on apple's website and I get the following:

Estimated Delivery Date 06 Nov 2006 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 01 Nov 2006

I know it still says EDD is the 6th but I could have sworn that the bold date also used to be the 6th. I certainly don't remember it being the 1st. I don't know if I'm remembering wrong or if this even has any significance. *shrug* Maybe it's the date the status was updated and due to some time difference it appeared as the 1st. Who knows? I sure don't.

Mine seems to be stuck in Indianapolis. It got there late last night - must be taking forever to get through customs. The worst part - Indianapolis is only like 2 hours away from me.

Maybe tomorrow???

Woo! I got my new MBP last night! SO EXCITED.

Hey - is anyone else super disappointed about the magnetic latch not being in this new model? My partner (who just got the new black MB) and I noticed that the latch in the MBP just seems a bit... flimsy. Maybe its just me. :)

Funny story - I had to pick it up from FedEx as I wasn't home when it arrived (I wasn't expecting it until Nov 3!). I stood in line for about 10 minutes - there were about 5-6 people ahead of me ALSO picking up their new Macbooks. LOL all our packages looked the same - and when the lady behind the counter brought mine out, she screamed "Yup! Another Mac on its way!"

She said she's been busy all night getting people their MBPs. Looks like the first wave of shipments arrived in the bay area! haha.

This is my first Mac - SO EXCITED. Thanks all for your advice!
