I hope this too but I am also concerned that having all my iMessages in the cloud will eat up all my 5GB rapidly, because I like to keep all history, pictures, and videos that were sent to me. I have no interest in iCloud otherwise as I much prefer Dropbox. I wish services for cloud such as photo libraries and messages would not count towards the limit, because they are so integral to use of Apple's operating systems (only documents should count, like Google does, or the limit could finally be raised).
Unfortunately, it will eat up your 5gb. Really sucks that Apple hasn't raised this limit yet.

You are in the vocal minority.
I and many like the new change.

Can you support that? Seems a lot of people and reviewers dislike the new approach, especially since it isn't obvious what it does and is now different than it ever was previously.

I'd wager that the average user has no idea that toggling those in CC doesn't actually turn them off.

Of course, Apple could just make it so you can do both (such as tap for disconnect, long press for disable)...

... but then Apple would have to spend more than 30 seconds thinking about their implementations.

I hope this is the one that brings back Messages iCloud sync.

Even better would be iMessage web based through icloud. Even better than that iMessage on Android as well. (yes I know never going to happen but would be nice to be able to say goodbye to whatsapp.

Perhaps you should submit your resume to Apple and save the company. I heard there was an engineering position that recently opened up.

I have done that couple of times, might do it again. Thanks.

How is the new behavior helping with not inadvertently connecting or tracked using MAC ID when in the vicinity of WiFi networks that I do not want to be connected to. I get annoying connect WiFi pop ups that I could live without. BT is even less secure when left on.
Other than Apple Watch users, the new behavior is far from ideal. Even the new S3 Apple Watch doesn't need iPhone connectivity all the time, so why force the users to do something that can be done without.
You can turn off the ask to join and solve your 1st issue with the popups. And you are not "forced" to do anything as you can still turn off wifi and BT any time you want from the settings app. And if you have 3D touch enabled device even quicker than the CC using 3D touch.

Any data to support such claim?
You can see the data if you read through the many iOS 11 x threads here on this topic. Including several good posts as to why this behavior is better than the old way.

I would wager that the "average" user probably never turns off wifi and BT at all and if they do never use CC to do so. Most of my friends never go into CC for anything,(or settings either for that matter), BUT if they did, it does state "disconnect from xxxxx" not "Turning off xxxx" which is exactly what its doing.

Nice! I hope iCloud messages and Apple Pay cash are included in this version. I may just wait for the public release of 11.1 until I get the X on Friday.

The worst isn’t when you have multiple devices and this more of your space is eaten up by backups. They should allot free iCloud space based on what devices you own; e.g. for every 10 Gigs, you get 1 Gig of iCloud.

Yep. I have 100 MB with Google simply because I have a Chromebook that isn't even a Google-brand Chromebook. For those of us who've paid what the Apple-haters call the "Apple tax" (and done so quite willingly, I would add), 1 GB per device isn't too much to ask.

Hopefully it fixes

1) battery hogging
2) screen unresponsive
3) wifi stupidity

now if they could get that stupid error 54 issue with itunes, and a never ending issue with backup to icloud fixed, it would be cool too.

So you think Apple's design decisions are all just grand? They've been on a roll with dismal UI changes.

I just gave an obvious fix so everyone would be happy. What's your fault with it?

When you disable wifi/BT, you're also disconnecting... so that really doesn't clear it up, especially for the typical user who isn't too clear on the details.

They changed how something works and hardly made it clear that it suddenly operates in a very different and less intuitive way. It should be clearer or better yet, offer the ability to do both so everyone's happy.

I think this developer preview is same to iOS 11.1 final release we will see tomorrow or later this week, I don’t think Apple will delay calcuator fix until 11.2. Every thing fixed in this update will be there in iOS 11.1

No. Any fix for 11.2 will not be in the 11.1 release

But calculator bug is very annoying and can’t wait until 11.2, thats why I thought they will add it to 11.1 too.

Join the public beta program and install 11.2, or install a free calculator app in the meantime until 11.2 is officially released the end of November/beginning of December.
