That was not the question.......

fair enough vassillios I did not quite ask that question. But after the rush of going out and buying leopard and spending hours on the phone to apple and many more figuring stuff out myself on a reletivly new piece of hardware, I couldnt help wonder if it wasnt quite ready for general release. Indeed part of the process of releasing a new OS invloves many customers discovering the issues themselves and reporting back to apple. Perhaps as thorough testing is practically impossible for Apple to do 100%.

hopefully this will address the issue with disk utility when u do repair disk permissions, it wont start. and i have to abort it.

Few things:

Who the hell is repairing permissions every day? I very rarely do it because repairing permissions has become the "magic problem solver option" for some reason and it's not. Whenever you have a problem, it's most likely NOT due to permissions.

Also, Screen Capture memory leak? What is screen capture? Are you referring to "Grab" which nobody uses, or are you referring to cmd-shift-3?

I just hope it makes my video card fly again.

Nice quick work by Apple as usual.

I love how people are expecting extra features/options like improvements to Stacks... it's never going to happen. Deal with it (or hack it) :) I've never heard of Apple doing such a thing in minor updates (anything except bug fixes), and improved stack functionality would be a good selling point for 10.6.

Transparency's not going away either. Those who dislike it had better hope they don't take as many paid upgrades to finally eradicate it as they did with the pinstripes ;)

2 changes to Secuirty:

Firewall: "allow only essential services" is now the default

General: "Use secure VM" is checked by default

I noticed that after installing the 10.5.1 and imac graphics update spaces seems so much smoother. I don't receive a weird rigid type effect when clicking the spaces icon, so smooth now

Running Great

running much better on my iMac "24

no video card freezing yet!!!!

I've had no stability problems, but hopefully this will fix the repairing permissions for me...

Downloaded this and the imac graphics and it seemed to take an age to open installer script then the whole bar filled and computer restarted(only once) then when logged in it did the graphics firmware update and needed to be restarted.

Seems to be working fine no real difference for me.

FMI: What graphics issues are those?

When you switch to Time Machine, the whole screen freaks out and flickers violently.

This is at 1920x1200. All graphics were fine in Tiger, but in Leopard some things just go nuts.

The Time Machine interface screen is the worst and easiest to reproduce. But if you minimize an application to the dock, and then restore it to the desktop, the display turns upside down for about one second, and then fixes itself.

So there are some graphics glitches new to Leopard with the original Mini at very high resolutions.

I am still looking for a way to turn off the background starfield effect in Time Machine, since that is the problem on that screen. The other stuff is minor, but the Time Machine screen looks like it's going to damage my display or something. It's very very unhappy.

Much clearer, thank you. I think the problem is that everybody's system is different (to a degree) and everybody uses their system differently. I, for one, have not experienced any problems and have been EXTREMELY happy with my purchase of Leopard. In fact....everything, for me, has been for the better.

Having said that, I can appreciate the fact that some users are having growing pains, but that is to be expected. There were much bigger pains in the transition to Tiger....but most seem to have forgotten that or never experienced those pains if Tiger was their introduction to the Mac OS.

Fixed the issues I was having with Google Earth for some reason (maybe a result of cache), but I'm still waiting for .2 or .3 to put it on my production machine.

Graphics on my 2.0ghz Core Duo Macbook Pro now run extremely smooth again like Tiger. Since I updated to Leopard all the graphics stuff had been running sluggish. This update has fixed it.
Everything seems to run smoother now.
And the firewall is fixed :)
