sounds like you created a whole list of nitpicks. I personally love Big Sur (come on, you are really upset by an icon?)

If it was a single icon, or even a collection of icons, I wouldn’t have a problem. The issue is the entire interface. As I specifically mentioned, there is an extreme lack of contrast b/w foreground and background windows. That’s a big problem when you have multiple windows open, and can’t easily tell which is the active window.

I’m glad you’re liking Big Sur, but to say my “complaints“ (which they’re not, they’re legitimate usability issues) are just a collection of nit picks shows that either you didn’t fully read my post, or you really haven’t dug that deep into the OS.

I think the update between Tiger (Mac OSX 10.4) to Leopard (Mac OSX 10.5) was 3 years :O
Tiger came out April 29, 2005 and Leopard October 26, 2007. So 2 years and 6 months but Leopard officially dropped Classic support (there was a way to have Tiger's Classic support run under Leopard but it wasn't for the faint of heart)

More over from Mac OS X 10.7 Lion (July 20, 2011) on Apple has released an OS every year though the latest had been in October so if Apple wants to keep their record Big Sur has to go out to the masses by December 31, 2020.

They should take their sweet time. Done reading users "THIS IS THE WORST RELEASE SINCE PUMA!111111"
Wasn't Cheetah much worse though? Cheetah didn't have DVD video playback or CD Burning, both features of OS9.

Oh.. and let's not talk about OSX Public Beta and the center aligned Apple icon on the menu bar (non-functioning, if I remember correctly).

That’s your opinion... and of course you’re entitled to it... my opinion is that the 16 is NOT going to be refreshed in the first round of AS...
Apple is referencing an unreleased 16“ 2020 in their latest final cut beta though (was it final cut? there‘s an article on here that talks about it).

So yes, there is an incredibly high chance they release a new 16“ now. Whether that is AS or Intel is unknown, but a refresh is in the pipeline nevertheless.

Real problem with keyboard not working on login after the update. Had to find an old Apple wired keyboard and even that was erratic

Has anyone noticed that the new 20H2 Windows release has introduced new icons and tiles? 3D, colorful icons are back, folks. MS followed Apple on this one. I'm personally very glad. I *detested* the "flat" look. I'm looking forward to app updates on the Mac in which new icons are finally introduced. Adobe - their icons make me laugh. I guess they thought they were the state of "high art" for that horrible flat crap. I'm downloading a Lightroom update - it will be interesting to see if they already created a new icon...

It just seems odd that their has been 2 events and they didn’t bring up big sur at all... also odd that they haven’t given a release date.. We usually have it by now and honestly theirs no reason to wait on the new Apple Silicon Macs to release it.
Maybe a little, but then the events were iOS & watchOS focused. I assume any event in November will be a Mac focused & the first Macs with Apple Silicon and this will be released in tandem.

BT problems here. Trackpad freezes, headphones wouldn't connect :( This release does more harm than good.
K.
I haven't had any issues and actually the release seems more smooth overall. Even the video issues on Safari have been fixed. It feels very GM like and stable... And my AirPods Pro auto-switching is finally working...

can anyone speak to the level of improvements that we can expect from Apple Music with this update? I feel like the app could use a pretty serious overhaul
