Well, I guess this means we will be on macOS 11 for a while, otherwise this beta would have been for 11.1. This also means we will be stuck with more ‘supplemental updates’. I was hoping they would ditch this method and update macOS the same way as their other OSes (for consistency).

What is the version of Time Machine in macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 (20B5012d) Beta? Time Machine 1.3, or Time Machine 2.0? Thanks!
It's 1.3

Big sur is delayed because the workong at home times.. not for waiting silicon macs

Not yet.

But interestingly apple did release a new build of catalina - as a full installer, version 10.15.7, build 19H4. Before it was build 19H2.
Do you know when 19H4 was released? Is there any information available about differences between 19H2 and 19H4? Is the 19H4 installer available from the macOS app store?

Thanks.

No, Apple broke it for some users in the previous Big Sur beta.
totally don't know what you mean then. I can find no downloadable app, so you must mean in Safari or chrome? Are you talking 4k? That has worked for some time, but you have to make sure that vp9 codecs are turned on in experimental features, Again available for some time. Other than that, always been working for me from one beta to the next. So "the YouTube bug". maybe I just don't know what you mean

In beta 10, many users on here reported that YouTube playback in both Safari and Safari Tech Preview was broken. Not everyone had the issue, but enough where it was notable. Check the Big Sur section of the forum and you'll see.

It was released yesterday.

I just downloaded it. But just to keep on an external drive for now. Don't really want to install catalina anymore. I'm running mojave on one computer and bug sur on another.

Here are all the full installers that are currently available on software update preference pane (not betas though):

With all the issues folks report here is Mojave still more stable than Catalina?
By all means - yes it is.
If you still have a 10.14.6 installation on your rig, it would probably not be such a bad idea to just stick with it.
At least if you're prioritizing reliability it is possibly the best macOS upgrade you can get for a foreseeable period of time, all the newer versions currently around are - at least for now - just downgrades in regards of robustness. There are some people who are satisfied with Catalina's performance, my assumption would be that either they are very lucky with their specific configuration - of course as always the bugs and shortcomings don't appear the same in different settings - or that they simply are not powerusers or set a high priority to stability. In most cases, I think you can safely assume that 10.15.7 just isn't as useful as your daily driver as 10.14.6.

11.0.1 has broken bluetooth audio for me, just getting sound out of the left channel on all audio sources.

No 32 but support is a dealbreaker. I’ll wait for a second gen ARM Mac to start over with all my software. I learned my lesson buying the last G5 models and then the first gen Mac Pro 1,1 models. Burned twice.

Like you can't play *any* YouTube? I am on 20A5395g with Tech preview 115 and I can play YouTube videos. If the "About 5 minutes remaining" install prep every finishes I will try again on 11.0.1 B1

It just seems odd that their has been 2 events and they didn’t bring up big sur at all... also odd that they haven’t given a release date.. We usually have it by now and honestly theirs no reason to wait on the new Apple Silicon Macs to release it.
Nothing odd about it at all, they're dropping it at the November event when they announce the new arm macbook, makes total sense to do it this way.

Why are you asking this (genuine question)? What is 2.0?
Alsoft said in their Twitter account that DiskWarrior 6 to rebuild the directory of APFS disks would be available in three to six months, once APFS is finished, and pointed to Time Machine 2, which indeed should be the one in macOS 11 Big Sur, since it is much different from 1.3 version already available many years ago. For instance, the new Time Machine can backup into APFS disks, and even saving just changed block(s) instead of the full file when only such block(s) are changed. I guess that Apple forgot to rename it as Time Machine 2.0 in Big Sur.
