So, my 12 Pro Max has been stuck at preparing after having to re-download it due to it failing. My 2020 iPad Pro 11, which is the update I don't really care about, went off without an issue.

15 minutes after SECOND download, 12 Pro Max finally installing.

:apple: Downloading it now on iPhone 11 Pro, Apple TV 4K, Apple Watch and HomePod / mini (if any) 😂

Anyone know if the update would enable AW series 2 to unlock iPhone as well? I understand AW S2 are not receiving any new update...but technically it should be feasible

Confirmed no good... Only available with AW S3...

“My iPhone/iPad/Macbook doesn’t see the update yet but my other iPhone/iPad/Macbook does!”

“What is the build number?”

“Oh, it’s now available where I live”

“Downloading now…”

“The download process is really slow!”

It's a bit strange. The update showed up to me at 1:09pm EDT, then said it was 1.21GB large. Downloaded in about 30 seconds. I don't know how, my internet is not even that fast. Then after it downloaded it installed in about 10 minutes. All is good. Downloading WatchOS update now, can't wait to unlock that phone w/o typing my pin every time while wearing a mask.

I’ve updated to iOS 14.5 but why are none of my apps asking my permission to track such as Facebook for example ??

it's very glitchy ... I do backups to my iMac via iTunes, running Mojave as a background.
Took several tries and then I got the update, chose to do a download only, that failed several times but eventually worked.
Then tried to actually install and it told me iPhone is up to date.
Then it said SW update is required, for iTunes, installed that.
Then tried to update again and it didn't do anything.
Then it said your iPhone is up tp date.
Went through this several times.
Now it is installing ...

I prefer updates NOT over air, so maybe I need to start backing up to my MBP that runs Big Sur public beta ...

Almost 25 minutes to install. I noticed also that the banner telling me that 14.5 is installed never appeared on either my iPad Pro nor my 12 Pro Max. Weird.

I got my 2017 iPad Pro updated on the first try but my phone is already on the second try. Looks like my Apple TV and iMac are good to go with one time. The backup time before trying to update did seem unusually long to me as well.

This release also fixes the following issues:
- Messages at the bottom of the thread may be hidden by the keyboard under certain circumstances

This .... is probably the biggest change for me that I'm looking forward to. This has been a problem for quite some time. lol.

Now if they could utilize the full screen of the 12 Pro Max with Apple Books!

Now waiting 37mins for my watch to update so I can utilize the unlock feature....

The apps will also need to be updated. See https://www.macrumors.com/2021/04/20/app-tracking-transparency-april-26-enforcement.

By the way, we could already disable apps from tracking long before iOS 14.5. Just turn it off by going to Settings->Privacy->Tracking. This has been available since iOS 14.0. (All 14.5 is doing is adding more transparency and enforcing the prompt for updated apps.)

Maybe you have the "Settings | Privacy | Tracking | Allow Apps to Request to Track" disabled.

Already installed on my TV, but after "preparing" on my phone, I got prompted to re-download the update. :(
OK... Now it's installing on my phone. But Apple Watch is giving me an "Unable to Check for Update" error and repeatedly does so after tapping "Try Again." Never seen that behavior before...
